I love to support local businesses and I love the fact that Bergen County isn't inundated with the big chain stores like Wal-Mart and Lowe's. I understand that the price and variety are appealing, but that money you spend in those stores doesn't get reinvested back into the community. When you buy from local businesses, those owners spend their money within their community so the money doesn't really go anywhere. This is how communities sustain themselves. And this is why I love this locksmith. I just had to get two duplicates made, nothing fancy. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes and spent less than $5. Two good experiences: could not find the key for a borrowed car trailer I towed up to HP from CLT. They visited my trailer at my mother-in-laws house and created a key and got me outta trouble. Second time involved my purchase of a good sized Gardall safe. While not cheap, this 220 lb beastie was dispatched to my new condo all the way down in Bayonne. It was bolted to the floor in about 30 minutes, demostrated and the guys departed. No fuss, no muss. I returned a day later to thank management and they made about 10 various keys for me - no charge! I asked what was the part number they said I need to replace for $400. They said they didn't know. If you dont know what part you need replaced, how can you quote a price? Later looked up the part, the entire assembly was 200. They quoted 400 for a PART. Will never use these guys. read more

Terrible experience with these guys. When I had the alarm installed, I specifically asked to be shown how to replace batteries in all the different alarm zone like the windows and different doors. They did not and said it would not be an issue. then when a single battery needed to be replaced the technician came and replaced 1 9V battery and they charged me $50 for this . And I have like 30-40 batteries in the system. So every time a single battery goes down I have to pay $50.. totally ridiculous!! Also when I switched alarm companies , they would not give me the code they installed into my alarm system to access it. this is a $1,250 alarm I pad them. It is my property not theirs!! So this company only cares about money$$$ Avoid them if you don't want to get ripped off!! read more

Horrible Service. They are dishonest in their commitments about time, service level, etc. When you have the audacity to question them about their commitment, they treat you disrespectfully on the phone. Pete actually hung up on me mid-sentence because he couldn't take the fact that I had caught him in a lie. In addition to the horrible service, they have a terrible track record - they didn't bother to file the necessary paperwork with the town and we ended up with a fine. If you do business with them you will regret it. I know I do, but it's too late for me - I already signed a contract and am stuck. As soon as my contract is up, I will be moving elsewhere. Might be the worst company I have dealt with. Three trips to my house to diagnose a problem with a battery code after they missed a few appointments. Called after receiving an absurd price quote and spoke with the owner Barry. He told me he was not going to charge labor for a new control panel because of the misdiagnoses and previous labor paid. This sounds reasonable. We received a quote of $750.00 for a part which costs $129. He proceeded to tell me he is entitled to a mark up and if I want I can put it in myself. I happen to work for a company in a related field and cannot believe the arrogance. Run from this company!! read more

The worst!! The were our alarm company. Had an alarm. Fire Company needed j&b's assistance. They did not answer the phone. Phone just rang. No answering machine. Nada. It was day time, business hours. Central station finally contacted them the next day. The close early, do not keep their stated hours. They removed a fire detector to be serviced "sorry no spares in inventory". It is a month now, no repairs no replacement, no answers. THROW YOUR MONEY DOWN THE TOILET INSTEAD OF WASTING IT ON THIS COMPANY AT LEAST YOU WILL GET A SHOW AND NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY AT RISK! read more

They changed several door handles in our house that were not working property, they also added a new front door lock and remove an old bolt lock that did not work properly.
