The first designer (a young woman- seemed inexperienced) rendered a design that was fine as far as I could tell- but left a ton of negative space (e.g. 5-6 feet) above the cabinatry. When the installers did the job, the drawers bumped up against the doors- so a full redesign was required. On the 2nd design, the final option was TOO HIGH for my daughter to reach much of the hanging + shelving. The job cost $2,200 with little to no quality control or oversight of the design process. The company uses HAND DRAWN designs (haven't integrated to digital design tools) and it was nearly impossible to verify the design was right. For this kind of hassle- I recommend going to IKEA a working with a specialist there. You'll save both time AND money.

The items look to be the same good quality you would expect from The Container Store, there's just less holiday options and prices are higher. For example, there are some pretty red and holiday color boxes with satin bows for an easy way to wrap a gift, but some of the boxes were $10.99 and up. I always check back here after the holidays, as I have found some great deals on plastic storage bins for ornaments or decorations after Christmas.

The newly assigned designer, Zena, has been nearly impossible to reach -- she routinely ignores calls and voicemails, leaving me chasing information that should have been communicated from the start. When I finally did hear back, I was met with conflicting stories, misinformation, and zero accountability regarding payments, design options, and follow-ups. To make matters worse, I was never informed that a portion of my payment hadn't been received -- something any competent company would have addressed immediately. Instead, I only found out the day of installation, while I was working. This level of negligence and disorganization is completely unacceptable. There is a total lack of communication within the team, no consistency, and no follow-through. Every step has been marked by confusion, frustration, and empty promises. It's clear this company has no respect for its clients, their time, or their homes. If you're considering Closet Factory -- don't. I gave them several opportunities to make things right, and only after I personally intervened were a few issues finally addressed. Even then, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. Whether due to poor management or internal issues, I will not consider Closet Factory again. Very poor customer service and extremely poor communication. Did you know that The Container Store has a design team in Custom Spaces to plan out your room and now also installs? That's what I'm talking about. The designer came out to our house and gave us a plan for two pantry closets and three clothes closets. We also did this during the Elfa 30 percent sale. The parts were shipped to our house and in a few weeks the install crew set it up. I would suggest that the installation team bring the parts to the house instead, as some parts were not delivered, and someone had to drive out to another store to get the parts. First, a designer arrived at my office and assisted me in finding out what I wanted to achieve with this design. She spent a ton of time measuring my office, existing computer equipment, etc. In addition, she offered great suggestions for improving my workflow and assisting me with picking materials (wood, colors, knobs, hardware, lighting, etc.). Less than a week later, she delivered detailed drawings to me for review and approval. Once I gave her the green light, Coset Works created my custom products and set up an install. When you tend to be cluttered and organizationally challenged, getting some help is absolutely life-changing. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and had some great ideas! Before starting work on my cluttered office, Jan spent some time talking with me about what I use most often, what things make sense to put in a different spot, and what would be best to hide/store. As we organized, she frequently checked in with me on whether I liked where things were being placed, how they looked, and whether it would be easy for me to find and use. I will say that prior to her first visit, I did go through the office and try and put "like" things together, and I got rid of a lot of stuff I didn't need. This helped us maximize our time, and hiring her was a great way to motivate me to start making changes. She also worked with what I had available, so I did not need to go out and purchase a bunch of expensive organizing systems. The great benefit to this is that once you have your area organized, you can then decide and purchase exactly what you need for the space.
