We are traveling through Glendive and decided to try J and J for takeout dinner. We picked Singapore Noodles and Szechuan chicken and vegetables. Both dishes came with fried rice and turned out to be a generous portion of food. The Singapore noodles stood out, they had a pleasantly warm curry flavor and a wonderful assortment of meats and vegetables. The Szechuan chicken had a varied assortment of freshly crinkle cut vegetables that cooked just right. The sauce was tasty and spicy as requested, but could have used a bit more depth of flavor, maybe some sweetness. We were driving from Minneapolis to Missoula and decided to overnight in Glendive as it is about the halfway point. We were tired and hungry when we finally got to our rooms at the Holiday Inn Express. There were five of us, my wife, our son and his wife and our nineteen year old grandson. We decided Chinese take out would hit the spot and found J and J Chinese Cafe on Yelp. We called in our order (they apparently only do take out) and when we arrived our order was ready. We had dumplings, egg rolls, beef with broccoli, beef with onions, Kung Pao chicken, chicken with vegetables and sweet and sour pork. Each order came with fried rice. It was pretty standard American-Chinese fare but we were very tired and hungry and chowed down. There was a lot of food and even with a teenage boy we could not eat it all. I have eaten many similar meals in my life and although it isn't something I want to do every week or every month, some times it really hits the spot. read more

The lady who took my order and checked me out was very nice. My takeout order was packaged adequately. My food was hot and recently made. Pricing was standard for Chinese takeout.The spring rolls were good, the beef skewers pretty good. The Happy Family sauce was tasteless with poor quality meats cut small. If I closed my eyes I couldn't tell any of the meats or veg apart by taste. The wonton soup was the most tasteless I've ever eaten... seriously I didn't know wonton soup could be so bad. Cream cheese wontons barely had any filling and the fried rice was extremely oily. The sesame chicken was the best thing we had got, and even that was bland and dry. We came to eat close to closing, but they were willing to seat us. We were the only customers when we ate. The place, itself, was a challenge to find, but some friendly local Glendive folks pointed us in the right direction. The food was tasty and very well prepared. For Chinese food in Glendive, this is the best you can get. It has a bigger selection on the buffet than the other place. With that being said, the service is on par with every other local hole in Glendive, which is miserably slow. If you're looking for real Chinese food, and you're passing through, hold off and head somewhere else because you'll probably end up with guy rot and a belly full of disappointment. read more

They have added a Thai Menu. It is placed on the bulletin board as you enter the building. A lot of people like the Thai style cooking. I am not a fan. But had to try. Very authentic Thai flavor. (Sigh...I am still not a fan of Thai cooking). I will continue to order the Hot and Sour Soup and Egg Rolls. My favorite light evening meal. read more

I have been eating here for three years, needless to say that this resturant is the best in town for chinese considering there are Two that I know about. The cuisine is expertly crafted and fried, however, during the buffet, the timing is off. For Example, I finish a plate of sweet sour chicken and I go back to get more, and their is not any left, so I wait up to twenty minutes to get some more. However this is easily forgiven since The food is amazing for what this town has to offer. read more
