Went for dinner on a Thursday evening. Very friendly staff, I am assuming family owned. Ordered crab rangoons- they were excellent. Hot and fresh. The teriyaki chicken and noodles were ok. Not great but ok. The BBQ pork and rice was also ok- not great. Had to put sriracha sauce on everything to give it flavor. The teriyaki sauce with rice was soupy. Only given a fork but needed a spoon. Everything was just ok. And rather expensive for what i received. My husband and I split both entrees and the appetizer. Total was $38 bucks not including the tip. So not a inexpensive dinner. I wanted to try the food because ai heard they were going out of business. Sadly, I was not overly impressed with the flavors. Hate to see a family run business go under when so many others love it. They do have indoor seating but not great ambience. Just average. read more

The food is good, and you can get it hot as you want, but you have to ask, because hot food really isn't a staple. Portions are ample, prices are reasonable. I lean towards the Thai recipes. So I ate here once and ordered egg fried rice and sesame seed chicken. The chicken was portioned well and it tasted great. The only complaint I have about that is they put the sauce on the side instead of on the chicken? Never seen a Chinese place do it that way before.... The rice though was a whole different story. The rice smelt like WET DOG. I'm not joking when I say this but my fiancé and I almost threw up with how bad the smell was. This was, without a doubt, the best Chinese food I've ever had!! Pulling up to the restaurant can be deceiving as it's just in a plain building that you can barely see right off the street with a little sign at the top. And upon entering the store it's very plain looking. But, boy, oh, boy, are you in for a treat! The menu is huge and is sure to have something everyone enjoys. Today we ordered the crab Rangoon, seafood chow mien and the sweet and sour chicken that came with a side of white rice and everything....absolutely EVERYTHING was fresh and delicious!! The crab Rangoon was crispy and cooked just right. The seafood chow mien had just enough sauce so that you could taste it without it being weighed down in sauce or oil. That sold it for me!! Plenty of seafood with shrimp, crab meat, oysters and calamari. It was heaven on a plate! And the sweet and sour chicken was crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. My son also got a pineapple TB tea. I didn't read the description of it but it looked almost like a slushy. He loved it! Staff is super friendly and attentive. Very authentic and served hot and fresh. I would 100% gives this restaurant 5 stars on food, my only downfall would be the appearance of the restaurant but appearances can be deceiving! Ok, I've been patronizing this establishment for over 8 months now ... (about once every 3 weeks or so) and due to C-19, all orders have been To Go/Pick- up. The first few visits, I was truely impressed with both the quality, and the amount of food received. HOWEVER, for about the last 3-4 visits, the quality of the food and the accuracy of the orders, has really gone downhill. I have arrived home with items missing, given incorrect items (chicken instead of pork) and chow mein that seemed like it had been in a warming tray for FAR TOO LONG. And deep fried foods that had obviously cooked in old oil I can understand an occasional error, but lately, it has been every order. I will most likely try them again (in such a small town, our dining options are extremely limited), but until they once again prove themselves worthy, i will not be a regular customer. read more

We have a party of nine gathered around two tables in the center of the restaurant this Independence Day. We called earlier and they agreed to stay open for us, but we all need to be done before the fireworks start. As our orders are taken, a steady stream of customers enter and fill the booths around the dining room. I think our hosts have mixed emotions about this sudden uptick in business, given the great street party we all want to get too. The fireworks in Sydney are legend. The aromas coming from the kitchen are amazing. The two big woks sizzle and the chef works the range with expertise. Five of our party arrived and ordered before the rest of settled Huck into the pet-friendly Best Western Golden Prairie Hotel and made our way over. They ordered items more traditionally Chinese: fried rice with chicken, sweet and sour pork, and an Asian-fusion "chicken wings" with a sweet chili sauce. These were served just after we made our order, which was a selection of the Thai entrees. We asked to be served family style, and enjoyed watching the chef prepare our Masuman curry, glass noodles with vegetables and no meat (it is actually a beef dish), and the seafood spicy soup. Our beverages were Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee. The soup stole the show. Fresh, large mussels, white fish, prawns, beautiful, fresh mushrooms and an exquisitely seasoned coconut milk broth. The broth, especially, was shared around the table and poured on just about everything. There was plenty of white rice and fried rice just asking for a ladle full of the soup. As you can probably guess, there was plenty of soup to share. A few Vietnamese dishes were spotted on the menu. Beef eaters should try the Pho and report out. This is beef country out here. Which raises the question of "Seafood in Sydney? How can that be?" So I asked our hostess and got the story. The purchase of a truck with a refrigerator allows them to regularly schedule two day shopping trips for the items needed for authentic cuisine, from fresh mussels to fresh lemon grass. Those trips cannot happen every day, so there are times when some ingredients are no longer in the restaurant, having been used up. For us this visit, it was fresh egg noodles, so mei fun (glass) noodles or nothing. Kind of like being at camp, but with a serious cook to guide you through the pantry. The environment? Not so great. I'm not saying the restaurant could have been cleaned better, as much as the fact that the building is just plain wore out. To the point where you just can't get the scuff marks off the baseboards, the surface of the flooring is now hit and miss and, in general, you just begin to wonder what you might have gotten into. Still, there permit for renovation is posted and the restrooms are clean, such as they are. After talking with our hostess and reading between the lines, I think the decision came down to buying the refrigerator truck first and renovating later. The feeling among our group was interesting. Less than half of the nine were aware of anything other than the food. The booths looked in good shape, and maybe new. Our tables in the center and their utilitarian chairs were clean and probably recently new. I think this is their first year of operation. All in all, Asian Garden is a great experience being run by talented, hardworking people (open every day) serving authentic cuisine. We should have paid admission! Seriously, they would put to shame some of our Thai / Asian restaurants back home in Santa Rosa CA and Sebastopol or, at the very least, make them step up their game. If you are anywhere near Sydney, you have to stop in and at least order one of the soups. I'm really torn between three and four stars for this rating. Definitely four stars for the food. Given the unlikely nature of finding these cooks in Sydney and their success in "foraging" for ingredients, one would be tempted to grant them five stars just for effort. Yet, the sense of adventure a person must muster to engage with the environment inside the building keeps pulling the rating down to a generous three. You be the judge and let me know how you would rate a wonderful find like Adoan Gardens in Sydney. read more

Awesome food!! This is an edited review, I had given 4 out of 5 stars because I didn't have a great experience with the server. I went back and was told she had just had been having a bad day, and they usually got compliments on how great she is. So I'm changing to 5 stars. The manager, Note, is a great guy. I was eating alone and he came out and we visited for most of my meal! The cook was really friendly too and they wanted to make sure everything was ok and tasted good. Some of the best green curry that I've had! I had the egg rolls and green chicken curry and yellow chicken curry. Just make sure if you say Medium spice on the curry that you're ready for some heat! :) If you're not a spicy food fan just ask for mild. This is great because you have a choice of very mild food or very spicy food. My ONLY complaint before was my server didn't seem to want to be there or really help me with any recommendations or anything, but I'm sure that was a one time thing, so I can definitely recommend Asian Garden! I also had written that the credit card reader wasn't working so luckily I had cash on me. The second time I was there it worked fine, so I probably just caught them on one of those days my first time there :) I'll definitely go back whenever I'm in Sidney I'm sure! read more

Since I travel extensively, I'm not typically impressed with most restaurant food. On the recommendation of a friend I visited Asian Garden. WOW! I was pleasantly BLOWN AWAY. We usually order the Mushroom Chicken, Dan Curry, Spicy Beef Salad, and the Tom Yum Soup. We like our dishes SPICY and the white rice is on point! Either I was really hungry or this was the best Chicken Pad Thai that I've ever eaten! I've been traveling to Sidney working for a couple of years now and I'm not sure how I missed this place. It's about a block off the main drag in Sidney, in a very plain brick building with a small window. It's difficult to tell that there's a restaurant there and if it's open or not but it is open and everything looked great. Inside is very plain but clean. Well, I'll start off by saying I'm from so cal so I could be considered a food snob. HOWEVER, finding this spot was like finding a gem. We ordered the Kung Pao chicken and fried rice for delivery. Girl says it will be 20 minutes. Ok. 20 minutes later a knock at the door. It was hot and fresh. This was the first time I've eaten Kung pao chicken mixed with a Thai spice that had amazing flavor with just enough spice . I have to say it's going to be hard to compare.
