I would highly recommend J&J Telecom & Electric. Paul was pleasant and professional. He was knowledgeable and skilled. He did several projects around my home, including removal of existing kitchen lighting, installation of new high hats in the kitchen, installation of several GFI outlets in the kitchen and bathroom, and installation of a new ceiling fan on our balcony. When he arrived the first day at the scheduled time, he was without his helper, who called out (it was a holiday weekend!), so we rescheduled. As a gift for the inconvenience, the next day he replaced an old high hat with a new LED and swapped out old dimmers switches with new. His prices are reasonable and, although the jobs took longer than he expected, he still charged me the quoted price. He returned a couple times, once to replace a bulb he broke in the attic and to replace our TV, which he accidentally scratched. The scratch was so minor, I almost felt guilty accepting a brand-new TV, but I was so impressed that he copped to it immediately and made it right. You almost come to expect workers in your home to make a mess and not clean up, but he really went the extra mile to ensure we were satisfied with everything. The last job he did was replace a light kit in a ceiling fan in my office. It wasn't working right. For months it was hit or miss whether it would stay on. He spent hours pulling it apart trying to figure out what was wrong with it, which he finally determined it was a defective safety mechanism, which once removed solved the problem. He advised against using the light without it. I bought a new light kit and he returned to install it. He only charged me for the install. He didn't charge me for all the time he spent diagnosing the problem, which I really appreciated! I would definitely use him again. read more

It's hard to find reliable contractors in South Florida and I'm lucky to find J & J Telecom and Electric. I manage several rental apartments and to be in this business, you've got to have a trust team of plumber, a/c repair, constructor, etc... and of course an electrician which I did not have until I find Paul. He rescued me from another horrible electrician. On Sunday, 2 of my tenants's main panel burned out because of the overloaded old system. I found a different company Allied Power & Lighting also from Yelp whom quoted me a rediculous amount to upgrade 2 electric panels from 75 amp to 150 amp. I googled for standard price and saw that he's clearly over priced and tried to take advantage of an emergency situation. I was on vacation and was desperated and thanks goodness Paul from J & J Telecom called me back said he could come. He told me 100 amp is good enough, and if I wanted 150 amp the price would be still 37% lower. When I told the other guy I wants second opinion he got mad and cut the power he had turned on temporarily resulted the tenants with 3 young kids had no lights and A/C. I told him I'd pay extra for him to leave it on temporarily while Paul was coming, but he refused stated that what he did was illegal and he could loose his lisence so he had to turn it off before I go. Then he lied to my tenant said I wanted to leave them in the dark. He also said he had responsibility to call FPL to cut the power of the appartment. Paul kept me posted by texting told me not to worry, FPL won't listen to him. The baby just had a temper tantrum. I did pay the devil $150 coming out fee plus $150 fee for him to disconnect as he demanded so he could just go away and stop harassing me. Paul, my light, promptly came out and helped me plus two families from an unethical electrician. I can't believe that guy got 4 stars on Yelp! I've learnt to only use service with at least 4 and a half stars from now on, it's a big difference. I appreciate Paul's service and will continue to use him in the future for all of my appartments' need. He's the keeper, I recognize he shares the same traits with my beloved plumber and A/C man. Hire him and you'll have no headache and save your hard earn money. Why can't all contractors be like him, seriously? read more
