We moved to south florida from out of state and didn't know much or who to trust so I can't recommend these guys enough. Best experience with electrician, hands down I would give 10+ stars for my experience. Chris was extremely helpful over the phone and with our needs. We also got to work with Harold, who was super responsive and kind. Mike, the other tech was especially helpful when we were in a big time of stress cause we had a faulty breaker panel that was due to a poor home inspection. Plus some outlets that were also unsafe. They fixed all of these issues in a 2 day period and for a good price. I'll be asking for Mike for anything we need in the future he was the best, taking care of everything we needed. The $74. service charge for an estimate makes it impossible not to do the service because they supposedly take it off the price if you do the repair. I had a circuit breaker replaced in the electrical panel. I had done this procedure myself in a previous home but am unable to do it now due to health problems. The breaker in Home Depot is $18.50. The time it took to replace it was 35 minutes. The charge that I paid for this service was $275., an exorbitant amount by any standard. The average charge in Florida for a licensed electrician is between $100 and $150. per hour. I will not be using SunCoast Electric again. read more

Honestly, I just like to know what did you do to adjust the complex plumbing to resolve the problem? Please tel me if any of your employee that touch the complex plumbing other than electrician took the existing plumbing hose to attached to the water heater. It is my job as good neighbor to let my neighbors know please stay away from Suncoast electrician and Air! Why? We had a very simple job: Turn off the power to our home security system which we don't use. I didn't have a manual for the system and it wasn't entirely clear how to do it from information on the Internet. I figured it would be a "no brainer" for an electrician, so I called Southcoast Electric. The security system is a national brand and very common throughout south Florida. (Over 1,000 homes, townhouses, and condos in our development alone have them.) Unfortunately, the Suncoast Electric technician who arrived was clueless. I showed him the keypad for the system in the living room and told him that my understanding was that a transformer connected to the keypad needed to be unplugged to shut down the system. For some reason he tried to pull the keypad from the wall, unsuccessfully. I said that there was a "box" above the circuit breaker panel that night be the transformer. He said "no," the transformer would be in the attic. Before going to the attic, we looked at the circuit breaker unit in the garage. Even though the security system was clearly marked as #27, he kept turning other breaker switches off and on; later we had to reset clocks, microwave, etc. because he had done that. He then removed the circuit breaker cover, said it was an old unit that should be upgraded, saw a shadow that said it might be a water stain from a leak, none of which anything to do with the turning off the power to the security system. I showed him a metal box mounted on the wall near the breaker box; it had an electrical cord protruding from it plugged into an electrical outlet. I asked him if that could be the transformer and he said he didn't know. We moved a box on a storage shelf that was in front of the unit, and sure enough, there was the name of the security company. I suggested to the technician that the metal box might be the transformer and if we unplugged it, that might turn the power off to the security system. I suggested we try that before he headed into the attic, looking for the transformer. He said okay; we did; and it worked. Despite the fact that he was there for about 20 minutes and I solved the problem, he charged me the full amount ($204) I had been quoted for the service call! When I asked if I could use my credit card, he said yes but would charge me an extra 4%; I paid with a check. Before leaving he asked if I wanted a quote for replacing our supposedly outdated circuit breaker box, which has not been a problem, I told him no. Needless to say, I was very disappointed in Suncoast Electric. read more

They stayed true to their estimate, worked diligently, and made sure everything was in working order before they left. They explained everything as they went along. They were neat and clean. The Suncoast team wired up my kitchen and bathroom when I had a flood. They pulled all the permits really fast, text me every day when they were on their way, cleaned up, had follow up calls to inform me on the process. They showed me where to buy fixtures, and threw in a few surprises! Highly recommended and showed me all their licenses dating back to 1949! I've had several issues with this company and due to convenience I made the mistake of continuing to use them. The largest issue I had was them blowing a giant hole in the interior of my house due to a exterior flood light being installed incorrectly, they have installed several smart switches in my home which they have had to come out multiple times to fix due to improper installation, and today I am still waiting for them to show up to fix a light fixture that they once again installed incorrectly outside my garage. There have been several occasions where they have been late including today which they had moved my appointment from 1pm to 12pm and it's almost 2pm and they have still yet to show up. They are apologetic but in my mind that isn't an excuse for wasting my time. Avoid the headache and go with a different company. The first couple times they came out I was very happy with their work but as I have explained above it is almost always installed incorrectly and you will have issues with their work later down the road. read more
