The company did an awesome job! The price was reasonable based on a lot of market research. They came on time, expertly removed seven trees and all the debris. So far so good. They were on time crane and all. Removed 2 monster oak trees ( 1 front & 2 back) and 2 other trees on the side. The trees was damaging the roof. The entire team worked solid 5hrs, no breaks. One truck left and another one was ready for the remainder of the limbs/ stump.They are due back to grind the stumps. Fillowed safety precautions. J&J will bait and switch you on their quotes even it you get it in writing. It is not a good experience.

I asked J&J to trim up my two oak trees before hurricane season. The sales guy was terrific. Took pictures, marked specific branches to be cut, sent quote of $1800 with illustrations of our agreement, they'd need to put down boards so machinery didn't damage my lawn, all good. However, what actually happened was quite different. Way more of trees were trimmed than agreed. On the smaller tree, no problem. But I was shocked that the larger, older tree was really hacked, way more cut that agreed. AND THEN, my neighbor, who would take the whole tree out if he could, hired J&J on the spot to take off more large branches on his side. Despite my objections, J&J's aborist said it was fine; but really, what would he say? No boards went down, lawn was damaged. The crew didn't speak English well, the manager called me back & we discussed it, but damage done. My expensive landscape is shade-loving and now is in full sun much of the day. I paid J&J & tipped the four guys $20 each. But I'm not happy & won't hire them again. read more

This company park their truck in front of my parents driveway blocking the entry and exit . When I asked the driver if he can move the truck so I can exit the driveway he said " if you knew how to drive maybe you can get out of the driveway" I would not recommend this company simply because of their unprofessional workers. read more

UPDATE: Since my previous review I have come home and the workers of this company caused actual property damage to my home. Not only did they stomp through my yard and flower beds, they crushed some of my garden lights. At this point I want to be contacted by this company before I go to the BBB and file a formal complaint. Very unprofessional behavior. My neighbor was having service done at their house yet the workers kept walking through my yard and flower beds to use my hose without my permission. This wouldn't be a big deal but they intentionally waited until they thought nobody was home. However our cameras picked them up and they terrified our house guests as they looked through our windows while washing off with our hose in our front yard. I would not recommend using this company if you want courteous and professional behavior. Paid $550 to have an oak trimmed on Sept 2023. By December of the same year the tree was dead. Called them up to diagnose and to quote the tree removal. They rejected any responsibility of the tree dying even after they were the last one touching it three months previously. Had other arborist take a look at the tree and they both stated that too much of the canopy was removed and the saw cuts were not clean. No sign of any lighting damage. read more

They didn't show up on the first day I was scheduled. They were supposed to be out sometime between 11-3, and they emailed at 3:10 to say it was because of the weather. They arrived on time the next scheduled day and left a mess, even though I was told on the phone that they would clean up the debris from the stump grinding. Stop your bait and switch practice! Your quotes and signed contracts are meaningless. To say your estimate was off by 50% on the day you show up to do the work is being totally disingenuous not to mention the bind you would have put me in with my pool contractor if I didn't have the work done on that day. Total and complete rip off. They don't give estimates when you ask for them. Gave verbals of much less than the final bill. 1 thousand turns in to 3 thousand at final bill. A simple tree branch needed off our roof after the hurricanes and they bring out way more large equipment than was necessary or even used. Ended up only using one guy with a chainsaw and one guy on the ground. But charged us for all the guys sitting in the truck ( never helped) and all the overly large moving equipment that NEVER left the truck. Must have been a mistake, nope. Rude on the phone "It wasn't their fault they didn't use all the men, or equipment. " Wrong they saw the tree before they came out. They knew what they were removing. I will say I never weight bad reviews, but these people were so bad I can't not say something. read more

Will show up at any time they want, make sure when you schedule it on a workday you're available all day. Our guy didn't ring the door bell. Only reason I knew he came was our security camera. By then he left. He did call and message me. I called him back to tell him I'm still in the house and he said to reschedule. This is there time not yours even if you have an appointment. These guys did a top-notch, A-plus job. They removed a behemoth-sized Laurel Oak in my front yard, a huge oak in my neighbor's yard and some heavy trimming of other trees. They had to lift sections of these trees at a time with a huge crane, including the tree in the back, which those had to be swung over the roof to safely remove them and not damage our septic tank and drain field. All the heavy equipment remained on the street. They were so careful and worked safely and efficiently. I'm impressed. I dreaded having to do it but that was emotional energy wasted as it all work out beautifully AND they quoted me the best price. Thank you for doing a fantastic job! read more

They cleaned out my foliage and shrubs for my fence line quickly and relatively cheaply. Communication was professional and informative. If I could rate 4.5 I would only because they left some debris in my yard that I'd prefer for them to have picked up, but I can handle it myself. read more

I contacted Jand J's tree service to give me an estimate of some work . The first time they came over I wasn't here and they took pictures of a tree that I didn't even want to have work done and left. Then they said they would come back the next day and look at the tree that I wanted to have done. They never came back or called . I called them back the next day and ask them if they were going to give me a quote and they said they would be over on Monday to look at the trees. Found J & J from the BEtter Business Bureau quote feature. We obtained over 7 quotes for removing a large laurel oak and a problematic camphor. Jeff was the first to reply, Ryan offered knowledge of the process, and a reasonable price. They had adequate insurance, and a professional demeanor. They did a great job and fulfilled the project in a fair amount of time! They kept the work area neat, and cleaned up after themselves- nothing left behind except what we asked for. This company did an excellent job of cutting down five trees on our property including a huge oak. Their crew was careful about where the limbs dropped, and you could tell they were highly skilled professionals. I'd give them 5 stars except for the following. They left the tree debris by the roadside overnight. I would have liked them to pick it up same day or at least have been informed when they would be sending a grapple truck, but I had to call a couple of times the next day to make sure they were coming. By the time the guy arrived, it was late afternoon and he ended up working in the dark. He did a superb job of cleaning everything. Then the stump grinder guy left a large mound of mulch from the oak tree on our lawn. He also inadvertently broke a couple of sprinkler pipes in the back. I understand he couldn't see them underground. When I spoke to the receptionist, she said they'd send someone to fix these the next day. The next day, I called and spoke to a guy who said it wasn't their policy to remove the stump grounds or to fix the broken pipes. When I signed the contract, it says you agree to their Terms and Policies. However, I didn't see these stated on the contract and on the website unless I missed it. They should have mentioned this prior to starting work and not afterward. So I give them demerits for not providing complete customer satisfaction. That mound of mulch is still sitting on our lawn and no doubt killing the grass beneath it. As we are in our senior years, we'll have to buy a shovel and attempt to move this ourselves. And that's not to mention paying the sprinkler guy to repair the broken pipes. read more

WORST COMPANY EVER!! I used this company on Wed. Feb. 23rd 2022 to remove a tree stump on our property. Here are a list what they did to us, how rude and unprofessional this company was with us. 1. appointment was at 10:15AM: didn't show up until almost 1PM without any communication from company. 2. When guy showed up ( David ), no introduction or greetings. We told him that he was late and our appt was at 10:15AM. He replied" no you didn't have an appointment at 10:15AM. I'm NOT even suppose to be here for another hour and you're my second appt of the day!" ( We were told by Kristen when we finally called again to see why he wasn't there that he went to the shop in the morning to change his blades on the grinder and yes our appt was at 10:15AM!) So he basically called us liars b/c they didn't communicate with each other at office. 3. We showed him what we needed done on the stump, asked him to start grinding in the middle and go outwards towards roots that was growing toward sidewalk and driveway. Showed him what he needed to stay away from such as electrical box, our city water box and edge of driveway. Also asked him to please be careful when driving the stump grinder machine and to stay away from edge of driveway because machine is so heavy and will cause damage. He said "ok" but kinda brushed us off. 4. We watched him started working and what do you know! He did't listen to a word we asked him to do!! He drove the machine right over the edge of our drive way and city water cover and broke it into pieces. He started grinding from the edge of sidewalk and driveway, not the middle of the stump like we asked and broke out main water lines to the house, and water was gushing everywhere! We ran out side and told him he ran over out pipes and broke it, his replies was" it's not my responsibility! It is your responsibility since we can't see it, not our responsibility!" No apologies and worst part was he tried to cover it up by parking machine over the damage as he was trying to turn off water. He called his boss and his boss called us. It got worst from here! 5. His boss Jeff was very rude to us when we told him what happed! His response was" This NEVER happens and we have NEVER broken pipes, cut cables or sprinklers! We're professionals, have been doing this for a very long time and knows what we are doing! It's not our responsibility, it's yours!", told us they have to continue and hung up! We were stunned at the rudeness, denial and non apologic tone from the owner. David continues to grind the stump, cut our cable and sprinkler pipes, took a chunk off our drive and broke the edge of our driveway. He didn't even know he did it and didn't even seem to care! He even filled back up the trench when we asked him not to since we have called a plumber and Spectrum and they were on their way. We told David NOT to fill trench back up with dirt to make it easier on Rinaldi's guy to fix the pipes and Spectrum guy to fix cable but he once again did not listened and filled trench back up with dirt trying cover his mistakes. 6. Thank goodness Rinaldi's and Spectrum was able to come out within 45 minutes. When Rinaldi's came and saw what happened, he asked David why he didn't mark it before digging and why didn't he start from center of stump. David replied" we don't have that service! it's not our responsibility!" and was rude to them too. David kept denying what he had done and offered no apologies for any of our concerns! He left us with a complete mess with dirt everywhere, broken pipes, broken sprinklers, cut cable wires, broke both edge and middle of our driveway but gave us the bill which we paid. We just wanted him off our property!! Still no apologies!! 7. My husband had to help redigg and shovel dirt from trench for Rinaldi's and Spectrum guy to fix main water lines and cable for us since we had none of the above to use that day. We were still trying to find someone to come out to fix our sprinklers system at this point! Everyone who came out was shocked at what happened and what they had witnessed of all the damages done to our property by J&J. Long story short: We still have a huge mess from their service to this day ( Wednesday March 9th 2022) and they have NOT even attempt to make it right! It has cost us thousands of dollars to get everything fixed from using J&J service. We still have to get sod to put on where all the dirt have killed our grass and our HOA will be giving letters about it. This company is the worst with the worst customer service I have ever encounter. I have had many tree stumps grinded in the past at four homes I previously owned and NEVER had any issues or been treated like J&J treated us recently! They are very unprofessional, do not care about their customers or stand behind their work or their 100% satisfaction guaranteed motto!
