Today the restroom was filthy. Floors not washed for days. Toilet paper out. Sink area dirty. And an employee "washed" their hands and left the restroom area as I was there! There's an idea that you check the cleanliness of the restroom before eating at a restaurant. This was so bad we elected not to buy the bbq sandwiches, pudding and tea we went in for. On the way out I mentioned how filthy the restroom was and that we decided not to but there. The gentleman asked... which one women or men. Women? Not my area. I looked toward one of the ladies including one with an assistant manager who had just been in there. She said I was just in there. Yes.... Well the floor is filthy, the toilet paper is out and the sink area is dirty. She didn't do a dang thing. She barely wetted her finger tips. And quickly dried them. I didn't even see her go for the soap. Gross! And she's handling my goods or preparing my food - not today! I've never seen this place looking that bad! Even at big rush times which it want busy at all when we were there.

To our surprise, they had a dog area which was perfect!! We were able to allow him to stretch his legs and take care of his needs while we also grabbed food and refreshments. The dog area was large and well maintained, there is also a trash can and bags if needed. The store is large and very clean, including the restrooms and the Wendy's. We had a tire blowout right in front of this gas station last night on our way from Austin to…read morePearland. We quickly found our new wheels had lug nuts that didn't fit our tool we had in our vehicle to replace the tire. We ended up getting stuck at the gas station for hours. The cashier was very friendly and helpful! She even offered to give us a ride after the store closed. Great little store out in the country. I'm very thankful for her hospitality! Also loved watching the kitties while we were sitting around.

This time instead of exploring their packaged snack products I thought about how much room we have left in our car and flying it home so I decided against it. I did buy 3 of their small cup size Blue Bell dark chocolate ice cream- for all of us but the cashier gave only one spoon. It tasted so good I had hubs go get me a large size one since I didn't eat a normal lunch and it was past 5 pm. While I waited in the car with the grandpup. I wanted to find some Bucee items for Doc since she's been our road trip driver plus made all the arrangements for hotels, tickets to parks, dinner show, etc. We all got different things: hubs got small bags of jerky, Doc got her favorite brisket sandwich to share with her Frenchie, a sausage on a stick and 3 peach cobblers for each of us to try. I like the large amount of clean restroom stalls plus soap. The cone of warmed sugary pecans and cinnamon bites were a sweet snack- finally gone from the first Buc-ee's a week ago. Before leaving Doc had us take a selfie and a nice gentleman also took a couple for us too.

Possibly an unpopular opinion, but... my last visit here was less than satisfactory. We grabbed lunch on our way to Houston. Our lunch consisted of brisket sandwich, chicken tenders & fries, and the three meat sandwich. I'm pretty sure their meat is not a true cut of brisket. Its consistency is like mush, and not like muscle fibers. There was nothing lean brisket vs fatty brisket. The brisket had holes throughout, making it look even more like an ultra processed deli meat or even lab grown. I was disgusted, to say the least. They also have ZERO options for people conscious of the ingredient lists. We bought popcorn and the bag was open at the bottom. I opted the top and it was super stale. I realized it was open on the bottom and the store game me a hard time about exchanging it. It's pretty clear the sealing process failed for this bag. We won't be shopping here anymore, nor will we eat their food. But if you're visiting Texas and come across one, it's a fun stop to pass time.

However, my GPS was taking me down the back roads, where there were no street lights. It is times like these that you have visions of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre or being abducted or worse. What if I got a flat tire? What if my car stopped running? I tried to remain calm during this heavily dark morning. Fortunately, nothing bad happened. Alas, I saw existence of life...Snappy's Market. I went in primarily to see if they could give me some human directions v car-made ones. The gentlemen on duty was super helpful and indicated I was very close to getting onto the main thoroughfare. He even walked me outside and pointed me in the right direction. I felt compelled to buy something since he was so helpful, but did not have an appetite that early in the morning. I did use the restrooms, which were super clean. Then I was on my way...back on track!

The inside was clean and well kept and the prices were reasonable (not crazy high like some gas stations). Most of the inside stores (aside from Dunkin) we're closed which was a bit disappointing but not a big deal.
