So when something actually works and works well, I take note. Stephen at Scruffy City Movers was responsive from the first contact, which matters more than it sounds, it was Memorial Day weekend. We had a tight coordination window with a U-Haul U-Box delivery, the kind of logistics where one late call unravels everything downstream. He didn't just show up. He showed up calibrated. The crew unloaded the container, split the delivery between our apartment and the storage unit at the complex, and then without being asked reorganized the storage unit so everything actually fit. That last part is what I'll remember. Nobody told them to do it. They just saw a problem and solved it, which meant we didn't have to upgrade to a larger unit. That's not customer service as a script. That's competence expressed as care, the rarest combination in any service business. Five stars. And I don't give those away.

This time we had them load out of our longterm storage in Knoxville and into our newly completed home in Bean Station, TN. It was a long day with two trucks and four guys required for the move. Approximately 8-1/2 hours following the truck arrivals at Central Karns Storage, they pulled out of our driveway empty and exhausted. Dalton, Terrell, Liston and Gage did an excellent and careful job of loading and unloading everything for our 3 bedroom house. They took direction for placement of the stuff with a smile and were very courteous throughout the day. Thank you! It got to the point that my two friends and I had to help them just to move the process along. Upon arriving in Nasville I found that 6 pieces furniture incurred damages, which totaled over $6,000 in damages. By the time they were wrapping things up it was 10:30pm (they started at 8:30am). The owner Josh went to his truck for once last sweep, and I waited and waited for him to come back to wrap things up and give me his insurance information. I finally called him, and he had dashed the seen! He rudely left, leaving my keys in the door, without giving me his insurance information. I have reached out to Josh a number of times to get this resolved with no response.
