We used Mark Gordon Moving in 2016 based on a referral and they were great!

We were planning our move from Texas to Crossville and had made arrangements with a national mover to pack us up, move it and unpack it. There was going to be some delay between the closing in TX and the closing in TN. The national company was expensive and they were going to add $400 a day to store our stuff between closes. We got in touch with Mark at Gordon Movers and he gave us a quote several thousand dollars less than the other company. They came to TX, packed everything and then stored it here in TN for the week between closings for NOTHING. They unpacked us, working with my wife to get things where she wanted them. Great move, extremely professional and friendly folks, and not a single thing was scratched or broken! The best move ever. read more

The owner Mark has an anger management issue--before the proposed move, he screamed at me over the phone and hung up on me because I needed to delay my move by two days. He actually said, "I don't care about your personal problems." He also accused me of "talking over him," as though he expected me to be some sort of subserviant being. Mark has a problem. I found another mover who is not only courteous toward me but is charging me $1,500 less. read more

They destroyed the top of my Weber grill Mr Gordon was left a message with pictures of my grill to call me back and he did when he got back in town . He made good and replaced my lid . If they break something he will be willing to take care of replacing it. read more

Gouffon's In Knoxville has been in business since the century turn. (I guess) They enjoy an excellent reputation so we decided to get a quote from them for our move from Crossville. Their quote was $1980.00 or so. What do we know, so we scheduled our move with them. Just to be on the safe side we decided to get a quote from Gordon's in Crossville. They also enjoy a fine reputation. Their quote was $980.00. We went with Gordon's. They were on time, courteous, helpful and nothing was broken. Their final charge was $880 for the move. No matter how you figure, they saved us a thousand bucks. read more

Talk about A Five Star operation! Mr. Gordon answered the phone and did so while he was out of state At 7:30 a.m. On a Saturday! I needed to confirm something and he was so professional. Now, on to his crew... WOW! Ask to have Brent on your crew. He was what I'd call the crew chief, with 37 years of service! Ouch! My back is aching just thinking of that. Then Carl, Donald & Poor Rodney who took ill in the middle of the operation. These "Gentlemen" treated us like family and our household as though it was theirs! It was a pleasure to tip them when they finished. Wish I could have upped the ante more. Mark Gordon has the Only moving & Storage I'd ever use again. Extremely expensive. $3000 for a move from Crossville to Lebanon with 3 weeks of storage. Moving out they couldn't get the truck down the driveway because of power lines. 3 days later, the same company moved in the new owners and had no issues getting down the driveway. Only one man at a time was working until I fussed. Loaded the whole truck with essentially 2 bedrooms and 117 boxes. I didn't even own a couch or table at the time. Moving into my new home, the truck was half packed, the movers busted tail, and they worked really hard! I paid for them to set things up for me, and they didn't install the drain on my washing machine. I had a flood on night 1. Many things broken, no attention to well marked items "do not stack on top, fragile, etc) Told the owner and got no response. On top of that, they were supposed to come on a Saturday. I scheduled 3 weeks in advance! Called the day before to confirm. And they called me 15 min before they were supposed to arrive to cancel. Came on Sunday, 2 hours late, and i had no other help which meant I had to pay them more to help me put things together. Worst move I've ever had! In addition, I called the owner to express my concern that they were taking so long and only one was moving. He yelled at me, told me I was unrealistic, and then charged me $250 for one month of storage. read more

We hired 2 movers to help us unload our 28' U-Pack trailer fully loaded and with over 14k lbs of all our possessions. They were amazing! By far the best movers we've ever hired. Very careful with our antique furniture, hard working and strong as an oxen. We hope we don't have to move for a very long time, but if/when we do we will only hire them. Wish we could give more than just 5 stars! read more

Couch has water damage from a leak in their truck from rain coming in. Money and medicine was taken from my purse. Called owner and said he would get back to us. No follow up as of today. Disappointed! Want reimbursed for a new couch and stolen money and medicine. read more

This move couldn't have gone any better. The movers were on time, careful, and pleasant. They were very expert and conscientious in loading and packing our things, and there was no damage to either the furniture or the house. They stayed in communication with us, and arrived exactly when they said they would. The truck only contained our possessions, and they delivered them directly with no delays or transfers. Used them 3 years ago. Had to take them to court and won. They still owe me money had to put a lien on the property. The movers scratched my floor and would not fix it. One of the movers was going to lie in court and say it was there--he knew he was lying. i am a local teacher and veteran and this is how I was treated. Had to move from TN to NH and was referred to Gordon Movers. It was a great experience overall. Mark came over and did a through estimate, 2 workers came and packed everything on day and then 3 came the next day to pack the truck. They handled all my belongings with care and everything was packed very well. Upon arrival in NH they quickly moved to get me situated in my new home. Gordon Movers did my move job about a month ago. The guys did a good job, though I felt I had to ask them to do some things that I should not have had to. I gave them 3 stars because when I called for a quote, they told me I would only need 2 guys. They showed up with 3. I didn't think to ask about why there were 3 guys, as I was running around trying to move. Charged me for the extra guy and when I talked to the owner, he said I should be happy because it 'saved' me money...the 3rd guy wasn't as much as each of the others. Very bad business to pull that kind of stunt in my opinion. I won't use them again because of that. read more

don't trust this mover. he doesn't keep his word and never returns your calls. BEWARE THATS ALL I WILL SAY.....

We are very disappointed with the service and care from this company. Many of our tables were scratched on the legs or feet. The end panel of a bookcase had paint rubbed off so that we had to repaint it. The trim on an 1800's walnut rocker was cracked and some pieces were falling out. Small things came up missing ( i.e. an iron, parts to a shop vac, small glassware, the pegs to a cherry table leg) We watched as the truck was being unloaded and saw a part to a seeder being thrown into a snow bank. Luckily a missing key to a locked curio cabinet was found in the truck weeks later.and was mailed to us. We should have gone with Mayflower. read more
