We couldn't think more of J&M Homes. We drove 5 hours to view a certain floor plan with no plans to purchase from them, we preferred to purchase closer to home. But after visiting with the salesperson, and seeing their offers, it was the right company for us. We have now received our home and been in it for 3 months and everything is as promised or better. Delivery was as stated, the set up crew were perfectionist as was the interior crew. From the sales person to all the staff involved it was apparent 100% satisfaction was their goal. Quality of the home was unacceptable. We had a new 2013 modular constructed from a 4 bedroom to a 3 bedroom, & just about everything had to have servicemen came for about a year, We also didn't get a darker brown carpet, but a beige one..who has BEIGE put in their home in the NW? Outside painting is horrible, a "grey poupon mustard yellow" ugly color, NOT what we ordered & we were lied to by salesman, saying both carpet & outside paint would be redone to what we wanted. I just wanted to let anyone who cared how this has gone since. J&M didn't try to save a customer. They didn't send an apology. I am seriously amazed at their lack of functionality. My new dealer is at Clayton Homes. I first contacted them on Nov 18. By Dec 18 they showed me the same floorplan that I'd already chosen. They helped me select appliances, doors, windows, colors...and the order is in! J&M took 5 months to accomplish nothing, Clayton Homes got it all done. J&M is freaking useless! read more

I wish I would have researched reviews of J & H Homes before purchasing from them. Once your home is paid for the struggles with follow up repairs and fixes begin. The HVAC unit was wasn't installed properly or securely. The cosmetic deficiencies are still not repaired after a year. They referred me to the builder, Clayton Homes to address my concerns. Everyone involved has dropped the ball and could care less. I am so disappointed!! The most recent reply I received from Clayton Homes informs me that they will not be doing any further follow up for me. I could go on and on and on. Throughout the experience of working with J&M Homes, the double-talk resulted in our decision to make a different decision. Every step of the home buying process required constant babysitting, phone calls and dealing with disrespectful, unprofessional employees. Every attempt to talk with Jim Wilson has been unsuccessful. We have purchased a 1.5 acre piece of property in Sweet Home, Oregon and look forward to having our new home built by this company. Highly rated, on all websites and Oregon Contractors License ing Board. So many wonderful options and a written guarantee our home will be finished in 6 months from start of foundation. Tried emailing these guys a few times about homes I saw online and never got s reply. Stop drive up to their location in Woodland and no one is there to greet potential customers. A guy finally appeared and asked if I was being helped as he ran by into another room, not even waiting for my answer. Then proceeds to tell me no one can talk with me for an hour. This pains me to write this. But I have some concerns of how some relators do business. Is it the norm to have the perspective sellers to move all of there belongings out and live out of there car port. This was told to my neighbors when they wanted to sell their home. So now it has been since April 24 and all of the work has not been done. Plus this couple has two children. The relator does not check in with the sellers. Just thought maybe someone would like to know and this family of four is sleeping on air mattress's. Experience so far with the purchase of our home is a 1 star. I wish I could give more stars because our sales rep and everyone at the office is very nice. However, not having a home for 6 weeks after the initial expected delivery date is hard for us. Prior to purchasing the home we were shopping around. Many companies were offering great homes and had all different delivery times. J&M Stood out because they were very nice and not pushy at all. We decided to purchase the home because we were told about 6 weeks for a home delivery. I signed the purchase agreement and made a down payment on May 23. I was then given instructions to obtain a placement permit. No specifics on deadline on the permit. I was informed within a week that I would need to obtain a placement permit to provide to the company so they can submit a purchase order and have the materials ordered and "get in line" The task to get a placement permit gets ZERO stars It was such a pain in the ### and I felt like everyone else was getting their permits but us for some reason. We were given mixed information (but that's another crappy review on its own) Received the placement permit and provided it to j&m on June 11. June 21: I was provided a delivery date of July 20 June 29: J&M requested to keep them updated on my electrician. -I didn't have one scheduled so I got quotes and decided on a company. And told them connection would be July 21. July 5: J&M informed me that the delivery date changed to week of July 25- July 29 and making sure I knew final payment has to be made the week prior. July 11: J&M informed me that the delivery date was delayed AGAIN but this time they have no committed delivery date. Aug 5: J&M provided delivery date of August 18. I was informed about an occupancy permit. I called battle ground c&c and was informed That I needed landing/stairs, gutters and skirting to get an occupancy permit to move in I scheduled the electrician to connect electric on August 19th. Special ordered the gutters to be installed on August 22. I made final payment of home on August 10. (Check was cashed) Received a call on AUGUST 17th from a rep at J&M stating that they sent the driver to pick up our home and windows are missing. Windows are missing and no one knows when it'll be ready. NOW, THE ELECTRIC COMPANY IS BACKED UP COUPLE OF WEEKS, GUTTER COMPANY BACKED UP. WE COULDN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR THE EXTRA PACKAGE TO HAVE OUR STAIR/LANDING, SKIRTING INSTALLED BY J&M SO WE HAD HELP FOR THIS WEEKEND. BUT BECAUSE OF ANOTHER DAMN DELAY WE ARE STILL WITHOUT A HOME AND WITHOUT ANY HELP OR CONFIRMED INSTALLATION DATES FOR OUR ELECTRICAL, GUTTERS, STAIR AND SKIRTING. Sincerely, never ever buying a manufactured home from J&M. It's not their fault that the home was delayed but they can make it right for their consumer. I emailed the contact person listed for a specific home to find out if it was available. I didn't get a response for a few days, so I followed up, asking if it was available. I finally got a response that says, "it's sold." That's it. Not a word more. This is exactly what you DON'T want in a sales person. Definitely sours my taste of this business. DO NOT BUY FROM J AND M!!!! I think its strange that me reviews keep disappearing so I'll just keep reposting. So my wife and I went in to the Albany store looking for a place to serve as our retirement home. After walking the lot we were met by a salesman (Leeland Stoddard) and after finding the perfect floor plan we decided to buy. We had cash and thought it would be smooth sailing. Them taking our money was the only smooth thing that happened. Since we already owned the property we contracted on our own to have the site prep done, thank got because who knows how screwed up that would have been. Being promised to have delivery on a certain day we paid an additional 5000.00 to our contractor to work overtime to be ready. Naturally the home was 2 months late and when I asked for reimbursement the salesman blamed the factory. So the delivery guy made his 1st walk of the site, no problems. 2nd walk and now I have to cut trees down and make a drive off road for the equipment, another unreimbursed 2000.00. Now the home shows up and I'm told he has to use the crawler at an additional cost of 400.00 to set the home after I paid 2000.00 for the tree removal and road. Okay, the home is set and the guys actually did a great job connecting and making final connections. Here's where the train went off the rails. We walk in and my wife is almost in tears. The place looked like it was jerked off the assembly line before completion and sent down. We made a 10 page list of items to be repaired that day. There were at least 200 places on the walls and ceilings where primer shown through and the texturing had gouges in it. We paid extra to have the home stretched 4 feet so we could have a nice walk in shower. What we got was a stem wall that was almost an inch out of square, the tiles were so uneven that the grout lines went from 1/8 to 3/4 of an inch. The outside corners of the tile were saw cut, not bull nose and were razor sharp. The shower arm was crooked and when I reached up to straighten it, it fell off into my hands. The mirror looks like a funhouse mirror, it distorts the reflection and needs replaced. There was paint and texturing all over the tiles and in the grout. As for the rest of the home EVERY wall mounted item, plugs, switches, mirrors, thermostats etc were crooked, had paint and caulking on them and some face plates were broken. EVERY window and the sliding door had paint and overspray all over the vinyl. It looks like the person doing the trim painting must have been detoxing or something. MANY of the windows would not open without force. Kitchen drawer guides were bent and wouldn't open. We paid extra to have gas and electrical for the appliances. On a walk through at the factory I saw that the gas was stubbed up through the floor behind the range which would block it from sliding all the way in. I asked for recessed gas appliance outlets and was told they don't know what that is. I emailed a pic and said I would go to Lowes and furnish all the boxes and they said no. It wasn't until I threw a fit that they agreed to recess in the wall and made sure I knew they were doing me a big favor. Now instead of a nice clean rough in box I have a freakin notch in the wall to look at. Granted it'll be behind the range but it's their refusal to furnish a quality product that floored me. Continuing the walk through and seeing the recessed gas, I see the electrical mounted ON THE FLOOR, 6" FROM THE WALL!!!. Now that I'm on my knees looking at this I look up and see that the bottom of ALL of the kitchen cabinets were not trimmed out! So now I'm pissed, my wife is crying and hits keep coming. The window boxes have raw, unpainted wood inside which they flat out refused to fix, and the moulding joints didn't match properly at 90 percent of the spots. The gas line leaked and wouldn't hold test. (I was told that it held at the factory so I'm on my own.) I was told the furnaced with an A coil prep for air conditioning, it did not although I was charged for AC prep. It just went on and on and on. So, we submit our lists and I follow up and talk to Marty. He starts with "you have what the model looks like". It didn't take long for him to realize that wasn't going to fly and agreed to send someone out "soon". From there it took 3 months and multiple trips from contractors to make the repairs. I had to call Marty EVERY DAY to make sure people were scheduled to work. He actually told me the contractors schedule themselves!! I asked over and over for a schedule to complete the work and never got one. I was told that my situation was relayed to customer service and to call them. I shouldn't have to but I did anyways and the guy didn't know who I was or why I was calling. This back and forth went on and I was passed around from person to person. One of the workers told me that this is the standard M.O. for J and M. They hope to wear the customer down so they just go away. Out of space to continue. Good luck, your gonna need it!! read more

Made a trip out there. We finally decided on a home we liked. Went into the office to speak to them. No one would come out front. I got the feeling that they thought we were not serious. After waiting about 10min I started to leave and finally She came out. After several questions about permits and contractors and how long it would take to get it to my home site I felt she just wasnt interested in selling me a home. She told me it would be at least 4 months to get me the home I wanted. And we would have to "ask" permission from our neighbors for 5 miles to put it down on property. If one said no then we were out of luck. No do yourself a favor go to Albany. Friendly people. Happy to see you, and lots of info that is correct. Dont waste your time with these folks! Money better spent in Albany and they are WAY cheaper to.... And BTW if you read this JandM homes I was willing to buy that day! So you lost a sale.... read more

This company only cares about their money. I Ordered a new home from them and everything seemed golden, Debbie in the OC office great, Blue haul guys great, Set up/level up guys great. This operation once they get your money is similar to a used car office sale. The left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing. John Tierney the GM won't call you unless he wants his money, He feels that what the factory says is gospel. He must be related to Jim Wilson or something, He has to be or he would be out on his ass anywhere else. Super shady!! My house arrived 11-29-2020, I got power and water to it within days. Close out guy comes to do all the finish work and the house is in such bad shape (Goldenwest) that he had to stop work and order parts on 12-17-2020, I'm thinking great I will be in my house doing my work by Christmas as I'm living in an RV on site. Well the factory (Goldenwest) ignored order closed plant and went on Christmas break. I have a 4 page list of items from closeout Contractor that are wrong and some serious, Furnace wired wrong, bad cabinets, all the trim terrible, shower heads all lose in wall, dropped truss x2, pantry door damaged, all doorknobs damaged, Outside electrical GFCI falling off house, Broken lights, island not attached and damaged. Closeout guy comes back 12-29-2020 with a tiny box of parts from factory, He said this is laughable, But I can't finish and leaves. I call J&M to get someone to lean on factory and this loudmouth of a woman Ann just wants to talk and not listen to the customer. Blames the factory for everything and says they have 45 -60 days to complete home, Hell it only took two weeks to build the whole damn thing and its shows everywhere. I ask again for John the GM to call me she says John says there is nothing he can do for me. I said do I need to call Jim the owner, I did some digging and got his number. I hope I don't have to use it. But Jim Wilson, You should be ashamed of how your crew and the factory they sells for treat customers. J&M Homes may be all sunshine and roses on the outside, But they are horrible. Do your research, Read the the reviews, ALL OF THEM. DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY OR GOLDENWEST. You have been warned. Their sales person Kathy in Albany lied to us on several occasions. Kathy was responsible for keeping us longer than normal for getting our house delivered. Once home was delivered we saw the wrong tile on the walls. She says too bad that's what you asked for and signed. I asked do you keep the scratch paper you write on when we're picking this out? Answer yes and then magically sorry can't find it your loss. DO NOT USE 1St SECURITY BANK WHO THEY RECOMMEND. IV'E HAD TO CALL THE BIG BOSS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DUE TO MISS-CONDUCT. Don't go here. We paid a lot for this house so we have the counters still not put in properly we just add an air conditioner and found out they didn't do our heating unit correctly they left a lot out Mike the main dude never gets to return the phone call we try to put a screen door on our door we had to cut the screen door down because the doors not even so please if you guys do buy a house for these guys receive go through the whole house don't take their word for it and I would get other people to build it I wouldn't get I wouldn't take anybody again if they offer because those guys were lazy they had to come back and do my permits over and over again and it was a nightmare this house got here October 2020 and it hasn't been a nightmare ever cents so I would think twice before I buy a manufacturing home from JM homes I felt that once we gave them the down payment they didn't want anything to do with us it was like buying a used car when she drive the car off the lot they forget your name exactly how this place operates so you might want to go to Albany or somewhere else I wouldn't give Oregon city a shot they don't care about their people they don't return phone calls and please do not buy a house from them they are warning I've never been treated so badly and I work in retail and I've been there for 20 years read more

I've been toying the idea of reviewing this place for 4 months. Couldn't quite decide how I felt about this company because they're so smiley and yet so slimy. I was in the market for a MH and J&M was the first dealer visited. I have yet to buy one but I have checked out several dealers including the other J&M locations in Albany, McMinnville and Woodland. I find the salespeople to be super nice everywhere (but aren't all salespeople initially nice!) and they all give you your space to look around without giving you the used car salesman hover which is why I originally decided to check out all their locations. I was impressed with the models even though I was less than impressed with the prices. The people on the front lines at J &M don't seem to be all that knowledgeable... or maybe they are knowledgeable but they're not forthcoming because they just want to make their sell?? Idk... I found myself scouring forums and googling information that it seems the dealer/lender should be giving me because when I ask anything they have to go ask someone else or google the info which isn't encouraging. I definitely felt the push to purchase a MH rather you're ready or not when I talked to people here but it seems backwards to choose a MH before you know where you're going to place it or if it will fit your pre-approved budget when you have zero idea how much it costs to prep the site when everything is "approximate" or "throwing out a number" when you try to get specifics. If they ever do write anything down they will take the paper with any numbers away before they leave. They never hand you the paperwork to read yourself instead they read it to you-- or should I say summarize it. While summarizing to me this guy kept throwing out numbers that made absolutely no sense like closing costs are 10% when I know by law they are capped at 6% but usually between 3-5%, the price he quoted me were 10k off from what was written on the paper he was supposedly "reading from"-- yes I can read upside down, imagine that!! I can only assume they intended to pad the bill to make up that extra 4-6%. One guy said there's no PMI or closing costs while the itemized sample bill showed there are. They will refuse to give you a copy of anything preferring to just give you the "fine print" orally so you get the sense that they think you are a common fool and they're setting you up for a bait and switch. I questioned the manager a conflicting "included in the price" quote that a salesperson told me vs what their website said in writing in front of the salesperson who said it and she shook her head "no I didn't say that." Unnerving feeling when you walk away and realize you almost dropped 200k with someone who just lied to your face and now her boss'. Having been to 4 out of 5 J&M lots I've met quite a few office managers and salespeople. They all tried to steal the sale/commission from the other giving me their cards and telling me that if I like a model at another location I can still buy it through them, that the other salesperson doesn't know what they're talking about or is "new and green" so they warn me I'm better off working with someone else. I have received completely conflicting information from 4 different people working for the same company. Again, its sales so I don't expect boyscout honor but it didn't inspire confidence. I was conflicted on rather or not I would do business with J &M for the 2 homes my family planned to purchase so I came on Yelp to see what others experienced.... after reading the below review I see that my gut feeling was probably right on the money since his experience was less than impressive after they made the sale. Thank you for that review Fred M!! Nobody really expects salespeople to be particularly moral or scrupulous but the level of deceit I sense here makes the hair on my arms stand up. Here's a tip people... if somebody tells you how honest they & their company are as part of their sales pitch to gain your trust then turns around & tells you how they will trick the lender/bank into getting you something that you may not qualify for, it clearly shows they have no ethics and are perfectly willing to manipulate. Sounds good until you realize if they do this to their "friend" broker or contractor they'll do it to you without thinking twice. But don't feel bad J or M... I feel this way with most salespeople. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... won't happen. Why did they get 2 stars instead of 1? Because the homes are perfectly factory standard and the aesthetics blow old school "mobile homes" out the water any day of the week. If you have the cash to buy one outright-- even from J &M, by all means do it! You hold all the cards when you don't need their help financing or negotiating the price down to your budget. As in any buying situation when they see your cash-- AKA: their commission-- about to walk out the door they will likely work with you. read more

I have been trying to work with Lee at J & M Homes in Albany OR since July to get a manufactured home. This is a medical hardship placement and we have all the necessary permits signed by the county. We selected the home we wanted and loan papers were signed in early October. I have been trying to get a start date for the house since then. I have still not received one from Lee. I had to wait over 5 weeks before continuing this process for Lee to get the contractor out to do the site bid. The contractor was at my place for a whole 15 minutes. The loan process couldn't proceed until we had a bid from a contractor and the contractor had to be acceptable to the mortgage company. I was told the order was placed in early October and at most, there is a 10 week waiting period. If the order was place the week of October 9th, as I was told, it has already been 15 weeks. I was told they have the house on the schedule for around the 29th of January. Last week he told me he was able to get it moved up a week. But he couldn't tell me a date. How can you say it has been moved up a week without having a date to base that on? I spoke with Lee today 1/18/2018 at 1:42 PM and once again asked about the start date. He said he has not heard anything and he was at the factory this week but he will let me know as soon as he hears anything. I called the Golden West Manufacturer this afternoon at 4:37 PM and was told I have a start date of Feb 9th. It took the manufacturer 5 minutes to tell me that information. That is 20 weeks from the time the order was supposedly placed. I don't know if this is how you run entire business, but this is the worst experience with customer service from any business I have ever had. This constant lying has left a very bitter taste. There is no denying the date I signed the loan papers. There is no valid reason the order was not placed at that time. Money is only thing the manufacturer is worried about. At that time, everything was approved, I put down the 20% down payment, and was told a maximum of 10 weeks; nowhere near this 20 weeks. And that is still subject to slip if an issue comes up with houses already on the line. They can't tell me every order placed since October has slipped to 20 weeks. I would like to know the actual date the order was placed. If it wasn't at or before the time I signed the papers, I want to know why. Because I was told the order was placed the week before I signed the papers as we were only waiting for the mortgage company to send the paperwork. This is utterly ridiculous. I am beyond ready to pull this loan and go somewhere else. I can't believe they stay in business with this type of customer service. The fabricated and calculated lies makes this a disreputable and despicable company to do business with. The one thing I asked Lee in the beginning back in July was be straight with me. DO NOT BUY A HOME FROM THEM. I have purchased a triple wide from them and although the initial experience was pleasant when the rubber met the road it was a fail of atrocious proportions. I'll break this up into 3 parts. the sales rep, the house itself, and how they dealt with my issues. the communication with the sales rep I had could be summed up into her saying "I will get right on that and get back to you" and then after hearing nothing for a couple days I would have to call back to find they had the answer but not the motivation to pick up the phone and call back. It was clear to me that getting the initial sale was the goal as she was pleasant. once the sale was complete it was very obvious that I was not a priority. The deadline that they gave me for my house to arrive was June 15th It arrived July 10th. The communication involved with why the deadline wasn't met and when it would arrive was 0. Either the factory doesn't communicate with the rep or my rep didn't care to talk to me if she knew anything. the various attempts I made asking when I could expect it where met with the standard I'll get right on that and get back to you. then I would follow up to find out she had no idea. When the home arrived My fiance and I were very excited, it appeared at first to be nice. Lots of dry wall cracks but I would assume that's normal when you haul a house down the road. I'll withhold judgement until the work is done. The drywall patch job was worse than I could have imagined. I called my friend over to look at it who is a painter and drywall guy and he couldn't believe that they were done. they didn't sand any of the patches they made so they stick out and the texture was put on sloppy or in places not put on at all. To add to that they forgot to paint more than a few areas all together. There was an area where a guy must have cut himself because they left blood on the wall. Our arch to our entry way still has a large crack in it that they missed all together. the outlets in the walls are crooked which cant be fixed as they are cut into tile. The tile itself isn't centered so it looks tacky. I have tried to talk to my rep and she wanted me to send pictures when her office is a mile away from the house. I asked her to look at it and she said absolutely I will get right back to you and i have yet to hear back from her. I'm starting to think she has no responsibility to her client other than to say Ill get right on that and get back to you and then proceed to do who knows. Its 8/4 I made the mistake of selling my house with the expectation that I would have a month to move in with the expectation that they meet their deadline they set. (or come close) I went into their office today and was practically laughed out. I expressed my concern that there was no communication with me about the fact that it wasn't going to be done on time so I could properly prepare like look for an apartment. when i shared my struggle with a rep in their office he giggled and said welcome to the club I know one of my customers is living in a camper because there home wasn't done on time. He had no sympathy even though he said I had sympathy for you (again he was giggling) He said they were busy trying to do everything they can. creepy vibes from that guy. when they needed something from me they showed up at my work looking for me which I thought was incredibly unprofessional, again without a call. I would imagine if they batted for melike they did themselves more would get done. SO here is a family of 4 with no place to live and no solution to this point given to me on what I can expect. there would be room for this review to improve if I could get a hold of someone that knew something but to this point that has not happened. My impression up to this point is that they sell homes with little intention on customer satisfaction. They were on the ball up until when I needed something from them and then they fell of the face of the planet. I would go somewhere else that knows how to treat the people that keep them in business. Two different shades of carpet, cracked walls, cracks in the grout, our wood stove leaks, the list goes on & on & on and they ignore us over and over! This is a PRELIMINARY review based on our first interview of J&M Homes in Albany. We received more info, more direct answers to our questions from a more knowledgeable sales rep (Corey) than any of our four interviews of other manufactured home builders/dealerships. When we asked for a price on any given feature/upgrade we got an answer. Granted this is just the first stage, but we are well pleased with the experience thus far. Not speaking to value or costs at this point - strictly to customer service before the sale. We've asked for references (folks who have bought from J&M and placed their homes in the same area we live) and have been assured they will be provided. I'll let you know I f their after-sale experience is similar to our pre-sale experience and where we go from there. read more

Listed and sold my manufactured home through J and M. Overall, the experience was Ok. Communication from the agent could definitely have been better and the commission was a little steep. However, they did sell my house 3 months after it being listed, took care of all the financing and paperwork for the buyers, and I pocketed a little cash in the process. read more

I wasn't going to get involved but I can no longer sit on the side line...my Grandmother purchased one of your homes several months ago, on May 26th, 2015 the home was delivered. Today is August 24th, 2015 and there are still more than 150 issues (big and small) that need to be addressed. Since the home has been delivered only 3 people have shown up for a total of 3 days of work to try to get this house ready for her to move in. Yesterday was the first time I got to walk through the home and I was in utter shock of workmanship and effort they put into making this house. Every single room has such obviously careless mistakes that should of never happened in the first place. I really feel if the owner of this company "Jim Wilson" was to come into this house he would be shocked and embarrassed of the quality of this house and in the the condition it was delivered in. I would like to personally invite Jim to come walk through this home. I will assume he has no idea of the product that was manufactured but I strongly believe he would be in utter shock that his name represents this home. If you got 10 guys in there to knock off this "to do list" you could have it all done in 2-3 days. The fact that it has taken the entire summer to even get to this point is unbelievable. I feel so bad for my 86 yr old grandmother, that was so excited to Purchase this new home and live closer to her family, but it has been nothing but a nightmare since it has began. If this is the type of product and service this company is used to providing then I strongly recommend going somewhere else. We went with J and M homes because we saw they had no complaints and came recommended. Maybe people were too afraid to write this. As I sit here listening to my grandmother get the ring-around for the 50th time on the phone as one person after another says "I don't know" I just couldn't sit here and not say anything. Kathy is very unprofessional and a flat out liar. She lied regarding the listing price and how long the home had been vacate. She said "a few months" yet county record shows the owners were sent an abandonment notice in January of 2017. When I asked to submit an offer she said she didnt know if the owners would go that low so she'd ask them.....which is exactly what an OFER does. She called back shortly after and said that the owners "just want to get rid of it so they said that was fine." So I book an inspection but haven't heard back the day of regardless of the email and texts I sent her inquiring on the signed purchase agreement. So I had to cancel the inspection 5 minutes before it was scheduled to begin. About a week later I asked for an update and to no surprise she hadnt heard anything, yet stated she thought the owners wanted more for it. How did she not hear anything but knew the owners wanted more?? After 2 weeks of not hearing back I text her and told her that I would be withdrawing my offer by 5pm the next day if they didnt respond. To which she responded "there is a full price offer on the house." She clearly doesn't know how to communicate well or do her job. I have never had such an awful experience trying to purchase anything! She is simply out to make a quick buck and could care less about anything else. I highly advise avoiding her at all cost and hope the company decides to replace her with someone who is competent and honest. read more

We went to J&M McMinnville. Richard Korowicki was very honest and forthcoming in my opinion. He warned us of SDC levied by the county and the many other site improvement expenses we should expect. To my suprise , it is true, the county charges $15,000 or so over building inspection cost. There are other costs that he warned us of. Then too, he told us a single wide is hard to re-sell. He did not try to upsell us or down sell. I would send my kids over there. Take some personal responsibility, visit several. We did and like J & M. Try building a custom home sometime if you think these folks haven't treated you well! read more

Started the process of trying to purchase a MH through them at the Woodland, WA location. Not sure if it's the salesperson, or the financing company ( was told they are backlogged). I have e-mailed questions to my salesperson and not getting a response to all of them. Discouraged and probably going to go somewhere else. read more

I feel that this company owes me $4000 in commission due to my experience and doing most of the work for them. My loan was through US Bank and my bank would tell me a different story then the Realtor Jodi whom I was working with. Jodi had a problem with telling me what she thought I wanted to hear, not what was actually going on. Because of this I moved out of my house more then a month prematurely and this cost me more money then I had to spend at the time.The process took longer then it should have. I was told lies about my bank loan being paid off after the "signing" was done at the J & M office in McMinnville. At the signing, I asked them for copies of the paperwork that I had just signed and all they gave me was a piece of paper that stated money paid, money owed, and what I get refunded. They told me this was standard procedure. They also forgot to include taxes paid. More then a week after "closing" and the new owners already moved in, I received a call from Jodi saying that I needed to call my bank for a new payoff letter, which made no sense because it should be $0. I was shocked to find out from my bank that they showed no record of payoff. I was so confused that I called the manager Mike at the McMinnville office. He didn't return my phone call. I decided that I would drive the payoff letter- that I contacted my bank to get -and talk with the manager Mike since Jodi was difficult to get a straight answer from. I tried to talk to Mike about what was going on, which he responded with the obvious- we just need a new payoff letter. The way he treated me was shocking. I asked him if there was someone else I could speak with about this matter. He responded that it was only him. I was shocked at the amount of disrespect this man gave me. I had to bring my father to see if maybe Mike has a hard time talking to young women. My father was able to get answers from him and Mike gave my father the name of the finance person, John, who we could contact. I contacted John (Oregon City) and was able to get answers from him. He was most helpful in this experience. At this time I received collection calls from US bank. I was 2 payments now. I cut off home owners insurance the day I thought I sold the house. Now US Bank is telling me I need to 1. make my home payment, and 2. pay for home owner insurance. THE WORST FEELING IS PAYING YOUR MORTGAGE AND HOME OWNERS INSURANCE ON A HOME YOU THOUGHT YOU SOLD AND SOMEONE ELSE IS LIVING IN. So, if your thinking about buying or selling, stick to Crown. I have had 2 homes purchased through J&M Homes. The first home I purchased in Milwaukie, OR went fine. Decent price, decent home. So two years later when I needed to move closer to work in Gresham, I contacted J&M Homes and they had a few listings in the area. I went from a 28x60 home to what I was told was 28x56 and still paid almost $5000 more, whatever. The home was listed and still is listed on all my paperwork as a 28x56 home. But the home is only 28x46!! They had the wrong size on all the listings, the contract, everything! But fortunately for them, I didn't put a tape measure on the home before I bought it, I trusted them, big mistake. So now when I want to refinance the house to get away from the absolutely terrible finance company (21st Mortgage - NEVER USE THEM), both companies let me know it was their fault, but nothing they were willing to do. Because of the length of time, they are not legally obligated to do anything. Well the right thing is the right thing, and if you knowingly make a mistake, own it and make it right! They have chosen not to make it right and I'm choosing to share my experience so others will know what I've experienced. If even one person chooses another company over them, I'll feel better.
