I used J&M for many years, for watch batteries and repair. One year ago they replaced the movement in my Fossil watch, the cost was $52.50. When I recently returned for a new battery, I was told that someone else had worked on my watch and had broken parts and put in the wrong battery. The only person who worked on that watch was J&M. I was told that a new movement would be $35. This attitude, accusation, and customer service was very disappointing, given my past years of patronage. Fernando has been keeping my 60+ watch collection in perfect shape for over 20 years. Everything from vintage Rolex, Omega, IWC and Patek Philippe. I have never taken anything to him he could not repair. Prices are ridiculously low and repairs are done quickly and perfectly. I now live in North Carolina ship my watches to Williamsburg and it's still a bargain. Louise has done several repairs for me including sizing rings, bracelet repair and made one piece for my wife. I just found this quaint little Jewelry Repair Shop in Williamsburg. This business was just what I had been looking for. I had to have a ring resized and it was done while I waited. I left the wife's watch with her to have a battery changed. Ms. Louise was very attentive to me, polite and even cleaned my ring. My ring was pretty well scratched over the years and now it looks new. I am very pleased with this shop and they are very reasonable. Over two months ago we dropped off our clock face all it needed was a new black battery pack replaced. I called several times to inquire if it was finished or when it might be. The owner was very abrupt and lack of understanding. I think when you drop something off you should at least be told a time that you can pick it up and two months going on three is too long. The owner has a very rude attitude and he does not give you a specific time that you can pick up your jewelry clock etc. I have to agree with the other reviews they are very reasonable but, I would rather pay the extra money to have politeness caring for the customer and being able to pick up your item in a reasonable amount of time. read more

Went here to get two things done. Repair a broken gold chain and fix the clasp on my Rolex. The service was fast, well done, & a reasonable price. Dissapointing service. The owner will try make you feel that you have damaged your item purposely. Warranty of work in questionable at best. Owner and staff very unfriendly thinking they are doing you a favor. Often misdiagnose problems with needed repairs and will try to charge you more than what is necessary. I will never take them any jewelry to work on again. I took my ring with grey freshwater pearls to be resized larger. The woman who took my ring to work on obviously didn't take the pearls out when she applied heat as the pearls are ruined (turned them black) and the soldering was an amateurish job at best. My boyfriend picked it up for me and was charged like nothing was amiss. I called J&M when I saw my ring and she actually tried to convince me the pearls were supposed to be black. I got no apology. I will be going back Only to get the money paid them back and the information for their insurance carrier. read more
