J&M came out to quote a new pool. We contacted j&M by email, about 3 days after initial meeting and they stated it took about 10 days to sent a quote. It arrived via email, no follow up. J&M are a PREMIUM pool contractor and you pay . We got 2 additional quotes from other pool companies and the quality, value, and communication was much better ! I am NOT impressed with j&M at this point and will not be using their services for our pool install. I honestly believe my pool would have ended up costing more due to site concerns not addressed in the beginning. read more

I can't emphasize enough how much I recommend people to stay away from this company. Our 6-figure pool job is a disaster. We went with them expecting to get a better quality product and better service for the premium price. Instead, we were over budget and behind schedule. J&M Pool Co. did an outstanding job of renovating our 20+ year vintage, 40,000 gallon, 140 ft vinyl liner pool, adding two staircases and a platform for two loungers in the shallow end, custom stone coping surround and a hot tub spa with waterfalls and color changing LED lighting. Everyone in marketing, design, project management, plumbing, and electrical was responsive with excellent suggestions. The quality of the workmanship by J&M and their subcontractors (demolition, ramp/stairs/porch construction, stone, concrete, liner, deck) was of the highest caliber. I hate to say it, but potentially the worst pool cleaning/repair company in the Fayette County area. We used them for 5 years. Spent tens of thousands of dollars with them doing a complete pool remodel and have had to get many of the things they put in redone by another company. Pool autofill value didn't have a pressure regulator put on, so it busted the valve. Pool light has been broke twice since they installed it. Salt Cell needs a full replace and its under warranty. J&M tells me the warranty piece is on back order. I've called three other companies and they can get the piece in 2 days. I'm so sick of them I'm going to pay hundreds of dollars to have another company do the work J&M should be (re)doing for free. The weekly cleaning techs were fine. Just don't ever EVER use them for any repair or remodel work. read more

We have always been very happy with J&M but this last time was over and above! Bob and Greg came out and did a fantastic job fixing our control box and getting me connected back to our system, but as they were leaving, we noticed that my side yard was on fire. We had a burn pile that must not have completely gone out , and with the dry weather and wind, a spark must have Ignited, and was beginning to spread. As I grabbed the hose and started spraying it with water, Bob and Greg jumped in and started helping to stomp it out. It's terrifying to think what could have happened if they hadn't been there to help. They're always great, but I don't have praise high enough to thank them for their help this last time! read more

It's possible Rich was a comedian in another lifetime. It's also possible he was a priest. My pool didn't need a pool tech, it needed an exorcist. Metal stains all over and long neglected, I was told by other pool companies this would be a near-impossible job. I think Rich and Austin were here, maybe, 20 minutes or so. Two days later, I had a new pool. I don't know what mojo they used (actually I do, they gave me a parts and chem list), but I am frankly a little stunned at how beautiful my pool is, especially since it has been the object of my irritation for months now. Reasonably priced, showed up when they said they would, did what they said they would do, followed up on their work. Can't ask for more than that. Thanks guys! read more

If you are looking for a pool company and don't live in the area, this company is not for you! We have a vacation home in the area and hired J&M to maintain our pool. Since we don't live full time in the area, they said they would send pictures weekly, and keep us updated on any issues. The first year was fine, although we might have received photos once or twice and only if we requested them. This past summer, our neighbors let us know the pool was green, and the pump was running constantly. Thought J&M had everything taken care of when we were in town. They were able to clear up the green, but stains still remained. But, again, neighbors let us know pool was green. Called several times to be told everything is being taken care of. Then my calls stopped being returned. And after 2 months of this, I find out they just stopped servicing our pool... without notifying us! Of course, this is a big deal because we don't live there locally. A simple phone call or even text letting us know they are no longer servicing the pool, would have been the courteous and professional route to take. Unbelievable! read more

Yes I want to leave a review for JM Pools they are great but when you've got a no pool they don't care much about you and if they use a contractor to do their work they will not stand behind that work we are used them for years and was happy until they had a contractor install a pole piece of equipment and it was messed up but they did not stand behind it we got rid of them and we're very happy with the new pool company that we've hired they're just as good as JM Pools read more

I have been a customer of J&M Pools for more years than I can remember and never had any real problems with them. However, this year the company has been terrible. They "opened" my pool last week. I was told after the opening, which was Wednesday, that clean-up would start Thursday. On Thursday no J&M service. I called Friday morning and was told I was on the schedule...stayed home all day..no J&M. Called left a message on their machine. Monday morning called again...was told, "you are on the schedule, someone will be there today." Stayed home... again, no J&M, no call, no nothing. Today is Tuesday, I called again, spoke with a manager, and was told again that my pool is on the schedule. In fact, it's on the Manager's schedule, the one I'm actually talking to...but he can't give me a timeframe for the service. Fingers crossed that someone will actually come this time. I'm beyond disappointed in this company and the lack of service. I've been a customer for years in the past; I could describe the company as dependable...but not now. At this point, I feel like I am getting the run-around. So disappointed. read more

These folks are great! Excellent customer service. I had a pump motor that was mysteriously over heating and shutting down. They came out changed the motor right away. Later that day the new motor overheated. Bob and Joseph came out that evening to trouble shoot and change out the motor again. This was impressive because I knew they had already put in a long day of work. The problem persisted, but everyone at J&M was very helpful and communicated with us through the process. Patricia was great in dealing with our home warranty company. Brandon and Richard spent at least 6 hours working on replumming, cleaning out my filter, etc ON THE 4th OF JULY. Outstanding! We moved to Georgia in August and had no idea who to use for a pool company. The sellers realtor recommend J & M pools. We decided to put in a new liner, light, double main drains and convert over to a salt pool. The "sales manager" gave us a quote and said it would be finished in a week. We are currently over a month and they just finally came out today and got the pool running. They damaged our stairs in the liner replacement and the sales manager told us originally we would have to fix our stairs they damaged. After 3 weeks the owner was finally told about this and it has been settled. We have to wait for spring to have them fixed. Also our pool sat here not operating for weeks with water in it and became nasty. Once they got the pool operating not once did they offer to clean the pool for us. The owner sent someone out last week to get about 50 leaves out of the deep end. I went out daily doing this because they would not get out here and get our pool running. This has been one of our worst experiences with a pool company. The pool is not even completely fixed and the sales manager wants us to settle up with him!! This company is a joke or it could just be the sales manager! They do have one gentleman that has been wonderful to us "Steve" He is the only reason I'm giving 1 star.. The superstar of J & M pools is Ben the maintenance manager. After I called the pool company and told them that I had problems with the way they were doing my pool, they had Ben call me. He asked for a picture of my pool, which I sent him. He called me back and told me exactly what the problem was and said he would be out himself the next day to start getting it blue again. When he came, that next day he assessed the pool, pool pump and other items. All the time I was asking questions he would he stop and answer them and would show me what he was doing and why. He put a chemical in my pool and explained exactly what he was doing and why. He then turned off my pump and said do not turn it back on till he came back. The chemicals worked as he said they would. He came back on Thursday vacuumed the pool got all chemicals right. Fixed my chlorinator, set my pool to automatically come on and turn off. He was great, he knew exactly what needed to be done and he had the pool ready to use in three days. Anytime I called Ben he answered my many questions and took care of any problem. I really cannot say enough good things about the way Ben took care of getting my pool ready. The ones they had out here before Ben I would only give two stars. Not with Ben he did a five star job. He is the only one I would let do anything to my pool. Ben is a superstar pool guy and he rocks, thank you Ben!! read more
