ABC Moving moved furniture from our old home to storage on 9/29/21 and then moved us into our new…read morehome on 10/11/21. We paid $1227.50 for the first move and $987.50 for the second move. Before making the second payment, I made the lead person, Joel, aware of several pieces of solid, high-quality wood furniture that were damaged or blemished during the move. Joel took photos of a few of the items and called the owner, and we were told the owner, Jennifer Eckles, would get with us the next day to discuss an insurance claim. Joel was apologetic and genuinely concerned and told us we had 90 days to make a claim with TxDOT. We never received that call from Jennifer. Four weeks later on November 7, I sent an email to Jennifer expressing my frustration and disappointment in the lack of concern and follow-up to resolve the situation. I specifically asked her to advise how/where to file an insurance claim in order to make something about this right. After sending the email, I also sent her a text advising that I had sent an email and asked her to take a look and get back to me. She responded to the text and said she would get back to me that evening. A week later, I still had not heard from her to discuss a reasonable resolution. I scheduled a reputable furniture repair person to do an assessment and make repairs to the most damaged pieces (i.e. dining room table with a swipe of surface scratches 12 to 18 inches wide across the length of the table; bedroom dresser with pressure divots across the dresser's top; deep gouges to a 50-year old chest; blemishes and chunks of wood missing from chair legs). Repairs were made on-site in my home for $200. I filed a complaint with the BBB a month after the move after having never received a call from ABC. ABC never responded to the BBB either. As a courtesy, I reached out to ABC on 12/3/21 by text. The owner did call that afternoon and agreed to Paypal $200 for the repairs. Payment has never been received and the owner never responded to a request for a status update. Small businesses work hard to earn every penny they make so filing a complaint and writing a harsh review is not something I wanted to do. Even though ABC's moving crew was polite and worked hard to move my household, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism demonstrated by this company and do not want others to endure the same experience. It's reasonable to understand that stuff happens and possessions can get damaged during a move, but when almost every piece of furniture is damaged in one way or another, then corrective actions must be taken. I've given this company every opportunity to step up to the plate to make things right and they have chosen not to do so. Don't trust your possessions to this company . . . move on down the road with a much more professional and reputable company. Our journey starts in approximately February of last year. We got a quote to get our roof…read moreprofessionally replaced and repaired. We decide our shingle and gutter colors and everything seemed great, planned and ready to go. This is during a supply shortage so we get delayed a month or so due to availability of shingles. Sure, no problem. The installation begins: the contractors arrive and seemed professional enough to know what they're doing and they get started ripping things off and replacing. First incident is my neighbor picks up a handful of nails that were left in the street after the first day of work. Unacceptable, but they responded respectively with my feedback. 2nd day into the work they let me know they underestimated the amount of shingles and need approximately $2,000 more including labor. We decline and but pay some pity because of it being a mistake. Here's the catch. We have to wait for more shingles, --for 3 months. All the while 4 different leaks developed with a half blue and half brown roof. Keep in mind, all of the communications with AVCO have been extremely delayed and they showed up multiple times without notice. They fix the leaks; repaint it and all. I accept it. And still being lenient. They continue the roof replacement and the blue shingles look amazing. Another 3 months go by with little communication on when the gutters will be installed and the pricing. The gutters get installed initially, completely incorrectly. At this point, the person who gave us our initial quote was 'fixing' his contractors work. The gutters continued to hold water and drain incorrectly. We come to find there is a sagging section of the roof that they should've contacted us regarding and at least given us the choice to get it repair or not. But no one ever spoke about it potentially being a problem. To this day we have yet to pay for the gutters as they still are left incorrectly done and still holding just a little bit of water, not to mention a corner being finished with the wrong type of leaf catcher because they ran out or got lazy. This is not a reliable company. They contract out there work to anyone who will do it for a low wage.
