Alright, alright. I admit it.
I'm not a fan.
That's right. I'm not a fan of J.Co. There. I said it.
Put down your pitchforks for a second. I'm not saying it's got bad donuts. I'm just saying they're not my kind of donuts.
J.Co is interesting to me in the sense that I'm neither a fan nor do I hate it outright. It's a light, airy sort of donut. In fact, so light and airy that if you press it between your fingers, it can become almost paper thin. That's probably one of the biggest problems I have with it. It's a blink-and-its-gone donut. It's not very filling.
The second problem I have with it is that despite all their flavors, these donuts taste pretty much the same. It's the same white chocolate flavor base with a hint of whatever variation they've mixed into it. Yes, I've had the Alcapone. No, it did nothing to convert me.
I will say this: their coffee *is* rather nice. At least there are other things on the menu that I like so J.Co isn't a huge monumental loss to me. And yes, they do get cheaper the more you buy so maybe they're still not a bad idea if you have a party to contribute to. At the end of the day, I still prefer Krispy Kreme.
Protip though: if you want to get their donuts, go early or go late. Around 6-8am and 10pm on is choice. There's hardly anyone in line. I used to have breakfast there and have the entire place to myself. Compared to other branches though, I like this one. It's roomy. read more
