Update November 2024: Following my negative review, Jeff…read morecontacted me. He sent Juan and Leticia, who stripped the bathtub and refinished it. They seemed careful and tidy. It took them 3+ hours. The finish is nice and shiny. I hope it lasts a long time. Our experience with Advanced Bathtub in 2023 was horrible. Technician D***** maybe had ADD focus issues. In any case, he worked fast and loose and skipped preparation steps. He mixed the epoxy paint wrong, probably too much solvent, such that the curing paint pulled up from inside corners, and retracted and split on horizontal countertop surface. Jeff kept sending him back to re-do, and he kept screwing it up. He worked without a ventilation fan. I'm not sure if he was more mental or more stoned from inhaling solvent. The paint is completely peeling up from the bottom of the tub 18 months later. Evidently the tub surface was not roughened enough prior to paint application. I don't know if the tech even cleaned the surfaces, much less roughened them. He painted right over dirt and dust on the tile.

Our wet bar cabinets were in really bad shape and took a lot of expertise to strip them, repair them and refinish them. They were that awful orange color that Oak tends to age into, plus they were scratched, there was mold in the pores and the wood was very mottled looking. Mauricio and Karla were thorough and quick, did a lot more than I expected, and the results are stunning. The mold and scratches were removed completely, the coloring is consistent throughout and the finish is buttery soft. The formal dining room table was also in bad shape. I had ruined the finish in my attempt to strip other items on top of it, plus it had very detailed carved legs and was made from a fussy veneer. They worked at the table until it was perfect, going well above and beyond the call of duty. The table looks more beautiful than when I first bought it 30+ years ago. The effort is took to get the finish from all the carved details in the legs was huge, and the table is truly gorgeous now. We had already contracted another company to do the countertops in the wet bar and to repair/repaint the wall in the backsplash area of the wet bar. After we met MaKa, we learned they could have done more than just the refinishing. They do so much more than refinishing and painting - they are really a dynamic duo. I cannot thank them enough - they truly are a gifted team!! (I could only post 4 pictures at a time, so I'm writing another review just to post more pictures.)

The bathtub in our rental property was in desperate need of repair after our tenant moved out (see…read morethe before pictures I've posted). I didn't have the budget to do a complete renovation so I got onto Yelp to find a reasonably priced company that would do a decent job resurfacing. Out of all the companies I contacted, Jose was the first person to respond to my request for a quote (he reached out to me in an hour or so). I read a review on here that says he does the classic "under promise and over deliver." I completely agree. He gave me a quote, but warned me it could be higher if they found some issues when they dug into the work. Thankfully we had none of those issues! We nailed down the scheduling over text, which for me is the most convenient way to schedule these kinds of things. He was very communicative when he needed to change the schedule by a day. Also, he was incredibly polite, professional, and attentive in all my interactions with him. They did the job in about 4 hours and I was blown away by how nice it looks. Not only did he fix the cracks and holes in the tub, but he also removed an outdated metal bar (for handing washcloths) and completely restored the tile around the top of the tub. The whole bathtub started as a dingy yellowed thing, and now gleams in a beautiful white color. Again, see the after pictures I posted. After they finished, Jose verbally went over how to care for the tub with me, and then he emailed me written instructions as well. In addition to that, Jose also gave me suggestions for replacing the hardware in the shower (you'll notice in the pictures there's no shower head or water handles...those are coming soon:). I highly recommend Jose and All Surface Renew. When it comes time to resurface the tub in my other property, I'll be contacting Jose again!

I would definitely recommend Rise to anyone looking for a contractor to perform painting or wood refinishing work. Cheyney is the only one of three contractors who returned my call, which he did within 10 minutes. He is the ONLY contractor whom I could locate in Deschutes County who is willing to take on this type of project. The door looks better than when it was new!
