This clothing store has got it going on for the summer! They had a lot of really cute semi formal and casual style dresses on display with awesome colors for 2026. I wanted to get three of them but I ended-up being more realistic and only purchased one today. They are bound to have a promotion or some sale for the 4th of July. There were some cool looking jeans as well which did seem a bit pricey, and I'm not sure if the location of the store made them increase the price. I am very happy with what I got today, and I might even feel inclined to wear it outdoors tomorrow if it's nice outside. read more

We were casually shopping in Georgetown and stopped by Jcrew. It is very large and has 2 levels. There is an elevator available for anyone with accessibility concerns. The store is very clean and well stocked. The security guard was very friendly and greeted customers. The sales staff didn't say a word to me until I sought them out with questions. I found a few classic pieces and I am very happy with my purchases. I would definitely return again if I am in the area. read more

This is not a good store. I like a lot of J Crew's clothing but have been frustrated with this location. A number of the employees (current and prior) have been kind of rude and passive aggressive. They're also pretty unhelpful. I ordered a product online that was meant to be a Christmas gift. J Crew said it would be available for pickup by the 23rd. I got an email from J Crew telling me it's ready for pickup. I went to the store to get it, and they then said it's "not here." They then told me to call customer service. No compensation was offered. Horrible customer service. read more

This location seems well stocked and tidy, however, the service is lackluster. When I was looking for a size, no one came to help. I had to wander around and find someone to help me get a size and she then sent me to dressing room and never came back to check. I wanted to buy something but there was no one around the cash register except one person on the phone and meanwhile, they weren't shortstaffed. I could see three people on the floor very intently not making eye contact. I don't need folks at the store to fawn over me. But it would be nice if they acknowledged my existence and helped me accomplish my shopping goals for the day. The service at the Tysons store is great--shout out to Gloria-- and it's worth a drive there to actually get some help. read more

This is the best J.Crew I've ever been to! This location is in the midst of the shopping area of historic Georgetown. Once you step inside you're immediately greeted, which is not the case for most of their stores. Hate to say it, but it's clear J.Crew staff are on commission, so will only start talking to you if you have an item in your hand, as if you're going to try on. (This is also the case at my home location in Bellevue - boo!) So the greeting here was a refreshing surprise. And I noticed that they have a lot more merchandise at this location that I haven't seen at other stores, like the New Balance gym collection, Italian wool outerwear, etc... With that said, the sales racks still had a decent amount of items still left to browse and choose from, which was awesome. The staff will normally check in with you while you're trying on, but here at this location one of the employees took the extra time to consult with me about some blazers I was trying on. She advised on different outfits to wear with and brought up small details about the items, like the different fabrics and materials, how to wash, etc... Normally the staff just want to be brief and get their commission but she seemed to be genuine, by providing assistance and advice. And she was honest, as to what items to not purchase or ones she personally didn't care for, so I didn't feel as if she was trying to sell me stuff I didn't need or want. It was great customer service that I hardly get at J.Crew. I only wish other J.Crew stores were like this location since it's my favorite store, but will be sure to make an effort to visit this one when I'm back in D.C. read more

Home to absolutely the longest line I have ever stood in for someone else to buy a pair of on-sale cargo pants. If he didn't look so devastatingly gorgeous in them it would not have been worth it (even still the wait time is questionable!) This place teems with girls in pearls using daddy's credit cards (the one in front of us brought daddy along for the trip!) The entire experience made me long to close my eyes, click my heels and chant, "There's no place like San Francisco!" -- UPDATE 10/2007 The loveliest pink-shirted sales associate helped me here yesterday and really went the extra mile. One of the few stores visited during my window shopping stroll & can't recall the last time when an entire staff was so jovial. From entry to every section of my interest, I interacted with such pleasant salespersons. As with many 'caught my eye' sale signs, the mass merchandise they had on displayed was of abundance. Especially the favorable sale price amounts which makes shopping at JC more enjoyable. I haven't seen an entire designated sale area that was staged in color coded,styles & accessories with such precision. & if you need to reset, feel free to kick your feet up in their mini shoe area & comfy leather chairs. May sound a little tilted, yet the aromatherapy was on point, making the perusing more inviting. & the entire store was in amazing order & stocked with such spaciousness, providing easy access for all customers to view. No exaggeration, yet it seemed every floor staff was greeting, organizing & assisting simultaneously. JC & today's crew, well done. read more

One of the nicest stores on M Street in Georgetown DC. The sales personnel is helpful, but also lets you do your own thing. Kind and not intrusive, which is exactly how I like it. TIP: Go at a busy time during the weekend for big in-store sales and promotions. I assumed J.Crew would offer big discounts during their slow hours, but really I think they have them during peak shopping time in order to outdo the tons of other retail competitors on the highest traffic days/hours. They also have a great couch near the middle of the store which is surprisingly rare in retail stores. When you are waiting for your family, significant other, etc. to shop - having a couch is a great place to relax and do countless entertaining things you can do on a smart phone. Without this comfortable oasis - you're more likely to bug the person still shopping to hurry up and move on, so I don't understand why other places don't have this. Sales staff here has always been very helpful but without being overly inquisitive! read more

The Georgetown location of J.Crew is great and when I'm in Georgetown, I can't help but stop in for a few minutes and when I was living just 2 blocks from it... well I was there every few days! The sale section is great here and you can always expect to find some really decent deals. The staff are also very nice, friendly, and really knowledgeable about the stock. One woman was really helpful when I was buying a suit and it's been great. They also offer a student discount which is wonderful! I love J.Crew! I believe it is important to write this review and hopefully there will be some sort of training as a result. Although not all men like associates to help them there are those of us who do like a personable experience. Neither I nor any other man should have to go find an associate in the women's section to assist with purchasing items when there are plenty of associates in the men's department that are deliberately ignoring people. If people did not want to be bothered then they would shop online. If customers take the time to come into the store it is important to make them feel welcomed and that you want them to spend money at your store. To be completely transparent if that store location wasn't making the brand money there would not be any need to have a Jcrew location in Georgetown. On a lighter note the woman who assisted me was very knowledgeable and definitely made me feel welcomed. I am happy with my purchases but I will definitely think twice before coming back to this location. Be more like the F street location (EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE). read more

Alarmingly rude store manager refused to process a return for an item that literally said online it could be returned to any J Crew store, even though it was a factory item. I called J Crew from outside the store and they said it's up to each individual store whether they'll take outlet returned even though the website says any j crew store. I had to go across the street to UPS and pay $7 plus the box to ship it back because there is no factory outlet in my state. Absurd. Ive never heard of a national store that can't take returns from its various outlets. read more

On my quest to find proper shoes for the rain, I stumbled upon this J.Crew and truthfully, thought it would be a LONG shot! Store was immaculate. Nothing seemed to be out of place. It seems there was someone manning every table and putting everything perfectly back into place. This is how i like to shop. Forget the piles of crap everywhere, I love shopping in an organized, well maintained store. I looked at every rack and was surprised to find rain boots at the back of the store. They came in 4 different colors; yellow, green, black and blue. The obvious color choice for me was black. Emma came around and assisted me with finding the right size. I paced around the store to see how comfortable they were and was shocked to find they were VERY. I always have a problem with rain boots buckling around my ankles but these didn't seem to be doing it. I was a bit concerned about tights fitting into the boots but Emma assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. She even pulled a pair of tights off the rack and set me up in a dressing room to give me the confidence I needed to pull the trigger. Just like she predicted, they fit like a glove. It was then when I looked at the price tag and realized they were only $79 too...pretty good deal considering I paid $200+ on my designer pair last year. At this time, the rain had stopped so I asked Emma if she could kindly hold the boots for me while I walked around Georgetown and did a bit of other shopping. She said it wouldn't be a problem and set them behind the counter. 3 hours later after lunch and more shopping, I came back around and picked them up without issue. Luckily...just in time because it began to pour once again. Time to build that ark...but at least I've got my trusty rain boots to keep my feet dry. yeah! read more

Ok. I love J. Crew. Love it. If I could buy every piece of clothing there I would.. every season. I fell in love with a J. Crew wedding dress and wanted it to be the first dress I try on. The Georgetown location is the only one in the area that has a "Weddings and Parties" department, by appointment only. I called, left messages, called again.. nothing. Anytime I got a sales associate on the line, they were short and snobby about how it's appointments only.. all I wanted to know was if they had the dress I wanted in the store! After I finally got a phone call back, (after I found my wedding dress already) I found out that they only have wedding gowns in the store that are less than $1000. Anything over you would have to order online and just return it if you didn't like it. Annoying.. not to mention a waste of time! Apparently they have a huge wait list for appointments. Why??? For being open 7 days a week, why is the wait so long? Esp if there is not that big of a selection to choose from. I did stop in tonight shopping for men's suits, and while there I thought I would try on "special occasion" shoes, as well as other bridal stuff like veils, jewelry, bridesmaid dresses etc. They have NONE of that in the store! For being the ONLY J.Crew with a "Bridal" section, it's not worth the wait for an appointment. If you have your heart set on a J.Crew dress, go to the new Bridal Only J.Crew store on Madison Ave. in NYC. It's supposed to be massive! read more

This J.Crew has a really odd layout -- like the letter "C". It made it difficult to shop because I feel like I was going back and forth across the store to find and look for things. Also, a downside is that it's a smaller store, so they didn't seem to have everything that I was looking for. This review is for the bridal salon. My girlfriends went in to bridal salon for bridesmaid dresses and were greeted by less than eager employee who clearly did not want to help us. Se escorted us to the back room where all the bridesmaid dresses were. She was extremely not helpful and did not explain much. When I asked about the price she brushed the question aside and never answered us. Halfway through the appointment she left us in the salon to go to the backroom without saying anything. Upon her return she decided it would best that we go look at the men's suiting department (which has nothing to do the bridesmaid dresses). She handed us off to another sales associate and disappeared. NEVER AGAIN! Worst customer service. read more

Wait... I didn't think I'd be writing a review for another J. Crew so soon but OMFG, THIS IS THE BEST LOCATION!* Most helpful and friendly associate ever to be hired at J. Crew seriously has to be... wait for it... FLORA! Someone please nominate her as employee of the year. Yes, we're only 58 days into 2016 but like... it's still not as premature as your boyfriend. Shopping for suits is a pain in the butt when you're not of the gender that has entire stores dedicated to suits. Not only does this location have a dedicated petite section, they have Flora who understands the woes of being 155 cm (sounds taller than being 5'1"/whopping 61 inches). She was super helpful in locating my size that wasn't on the rack (I need to be 00 or 10) and she also brought in heels so I know how I'd look wearing the suit standing 2.5 inches taller. She was entirely TOO helpful and GOSH, how I wish she could be my personal shopper. Maybe after I get that baller internship and start earning beaucoup bucks. Oh yeah, the sale section is a cluster but it's amazing. Other J. Crew locations have been wiped out by hungry yuppie masses but not this one. The one in Tysons II is pretty amazingly abundant as well, but they don't have Flora there *womp womp*. *= provided that you can find parking in the madness that is Georgetown OR if you're smart and take a shuttle from Rosslyn OR if you're a big baller that lives a few blocks away (heyoooo, currently accepting applications for sugar daddy). read more

Best J. Crew ever. Why? Because I was a sales associate, and I would know. I didn't work for the Georgetown location, but most retail J. Crew's just love to look down on Factory J. Crew associates (psst, Reston Town Center is notorious). For the amount of $$$ that I put into retail J. Crew, I would expect a smile and just one assistance (but after every customer is attended in the store, of course). I'm not the type of associate to lay her clothes around in the fitting rooms and I always place all the items back in their original location/condition. So if I'm lugging about 25 lbs. and Collection items, some assistance would be nice. Anticipating that I would be snubbed at, imagine my surprise when the manager of this location gave me actual customer service! It was wonderful, unexpected, and I was very appreciative. Not only did I walk out with 25 lbs. of clothes, I walked out knowing that every J. Crew should follow the standards of the Georgetown J. Crew. read more

I take it back. This is one of the places where we were greeted and asked if we needed help. That alone makes me a fan. In terms of sales, it was a bit of a mess and hit or miss. Some items were ok but still too high for being on sale. Other items I could pass on but they were pretty cheap. There are some comfy couches to sit on, and as others have noted, they will let you call their headquarters to find your size. I saw an associate help a female customer with this. read more

This store should be called JCREW Lounge! It is PACKED to the Rims on the weekends...there are long lines to anywhere (to the dressing rooms, to pay for your tab!) and there are crazy b*tches stepping on each others' toes and pushing each other just to get that cute spring skirt in size S (or to that cutie in the men's section on the other side, who knows!) and yes, I loved it. I loved it all. Huge selection of men (haha I wish! no, really, clothing I mean) and also a men's section to keep the men with you occupied. Oh, and even better multiple seats outside of the dressing rooms for the men waiting for you (many papa bears were waiting on their daughters and wives that day...poor dads need a beer while they're waiting!) This is one of my favorite Jcrew spots and I will definitely be back soon to this "lounge"! read more

Unlike Mai H, I had a fantastic experience with the Bridal department here. On my first call, I spoke to Shannon, asked whether they had specific bridesmaid dresses at the store to try on, and made an appointment to come in for the very next day. There is no section of the store for bridal, all the dresses are kept behind the scenes. There is a private fitting room and seating area just for the Bridal appointments, which I think is quite lovely. Shannon was honest about the dresses (warning me about particular quirks with one of the styles), which was much appreciated given some bridal store employee's inability to be honest when something doesn't look right. She was also very helpful in letting me know about availability of the dresses in different sizes and colors. Bonus - they let you take photographs (some bridal stores do not). Since I was alone, she was happy to take photos of me so I could email off to the bride! read more

I was looking for a specific item to give as a gift and no other thing would do. To my disappointment, the Georgetown store did not have them in stock. But the salesperson here was amazing in helping me figure out the easiest way to get them. He ended up advising me to put in an online order via the red phone in the store. He tried to get me free shipping even, which was really nice but didn't work (got the student discount though!). The order arrived on Friday just like he said they would. This Jcrew has the biggest and best quality of items I have been in. During sales, I much more likely to find a steal in the sales section than from any other Jcrew store in the DMV area. Even if the store lacks your size, if the item is available online, the store associates are willing to help you ship it to your home for free. read more

Don't let the brutal winter discourage you from refreshing the in-store stock with color! The selection is meager at best. And said meager selection is poorly organized - shelves of sweaters punctuated by sloppily hung bikini tops and bottoms, a suiting section with crochet sweaters and panama hats. Mass confusion - I thought I was at the Limited (where I do shop when looking for a deal on trends). If you're one who likes J. First off, can I say I have Never, EVER in my life seen a more poppin' JCrew in my life - not the Grove, not San Francisco, not Valleyfair, not even Walnut Creek. I went here today looking for my madras Jack Purcell's and while perusing the sale section the salesgirl Ashley asked me if I needed any help and I told her I was just looking for the right size shorts right now but if she could find me the Jack Purcell's that'd be awesome and she gladly went to the back to look for them. Of course they only had them left in 11 and 12 so she brought another pair of Jack Purcell's out to see how they would fit and then arranged for me to have them shipped for free from their catalog. I usually like to avoid rating big chains on Yelp! but a good customer service experience deserves to be known, what I most appreciated about her service was that it seemed genuine like she really did want to help you and wasn't just trying to make a sale, I've spent too much time working in retail hell (Apple, Macy*s, Nordstrom, Lucky) not to know genuine interest from counting the dollar signs. read more

The really nice manager that was working yesterday offered to create a UPS label and ship it back to the factory store for me. For the bridesmaid/bridal salon. I made an appointment in advance, and the sales associate I worked with was very helpful and nice. She pulled some of the dresses I liked in advance and told me quirks about some of the materials (like tricotine, which fits much closer to the body) as well as general color advice on different skin tones. It's hard to tell what the dresses would look on you if you're different than their sample sizes (most of them are size 8-10), and though they clip you in, it doesn't give nearly as good an idea as at some of the specialty bridal salons. They do let you take photos, which is helpful, and I never felt rushed. I had J. Crew Bridal issues, but am giving this store a four star rating because the problems weren't this particular store's fault. I ordered fabric swatches months ago through the national office, never received them, tried to re-order from the store (and they asked about charging me for "extra" ones), followed up 2-3 times, and I've still never received them. I'm a little concerned about the customer service and reliability of J. Crew Bridal in general, since mailing fabric swatches seems like a pretty standard/easy thing to do and I haven't had any similar trouble with other companies. I finally gave up. But for trying on bridesmaid styles, the staff at this store is friendly and responsive. read more

He called me back twice to verify that the items were located and then shipped, and while he was working, Matt was friendly and engaging, discussing the weather and the farmer's market near where we both live. I go here mainly to shop for my kids as they have a great kids clothing section and their stuff fits my kids well, though they frequently are sold out of sizes I need so I have to order online, or have the store do so on my behalf. However, I've also had to return and exchange things here (after spending hundreds of dollars, and keeping some stuff needing to return some, etc), and the sales associates get really snippy if you just need to return for any type of refund. It's kind of unnecessary, especially they don't acknowledge we are keeping some things or have bought a ton of things online. It's like they're annoyed because they are losing "credit" to their store sales. Not my problem that online is separate from in-store and they shouldn't treat customers rudely. read more

Bridal division at J.Crew Georgetown was a great experience. I had personal attention for almost an hour while I tried on a number of dresses. The associate was initially stand-offish, but ended up being incredibly helpful. She offered several suggestions for how to make the dress my own. She went out of her way to help me order a dress overnight. Overall this J. Crew is neat and tidy, sales associates were friendly, and there was a lot to choose from. I went to JCrew for a fitting for a bridesmaid's dress. I'm very petite so I didn't want to order a random size offline, especially since their dresses are not cheap and I had a deadline. They didn't have my size in the sample dresses, so they used pins in the back to fit it to me. The sales woman insisted that a regular size 0 would probably work on my body, even though I told her that I've had issues with even the smallest of sizes and often have to go petite. She told me that if I went with a petite size the dress would be too short - so I agreed and trusted her judgement (she is the specialist there, after all!). A couple of days later I get the dress and, big surprise, it's too big around my torso. The length was perfect, as she'd predicted - but I kept having to yank at the top of it because it's strapless. I called them up and asked about alterations, assuming they'd offer them since my friends have taken other things to be altered there before - and I just spent a whopping $250 on a dress. They told me that they don't alter dresses, had no recommendations for alterations, and that I'd have to figure it all out myself. WTF! After spending the time to get their "professional help" finding a dress that wound up NOT FITTING ME, and dropping a significant amount of cash, they won't even FIX my dress? I am super annoyed and also stressed now because the wedding is a week away. Not pleased, JCrew. Not pleased. read more

My first time purchasing cashmere from jcrew. I purchased the Men's half zip cashmere sweater as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. I was really excited about it, i thought it was a really nice looking sweater and he loved it. One month later he let me know he put it on and there was a huge hole in the seam in the under arm area. He had worn it once! I was so embarrassed! And I was shocked at the poor quality for such a high price. I tried wedding dresses on here and had a fabulous experience. You get a room to yourself and someone works with you the entire time you are there. I'm glad that they started to let people try on dresses in the store because the dresses I liked online did not look good on me at all. I ended up having a different favorite that I would never have chosen online. I ended up choosing a dress at another store, but wanted to make sure to give them a great rating because the customer service was excellent and the dresses are beautiful and affordable. Thanks Hillary for making the shopping experience calm and pressure free. They get booked usually two months ahead, so plan early. read more

This review is a result of multiple horrible customer experiences. The sales associates are extremely unhelpful, even if you can actually get one to stop and help. I have gone into this store TRYING to spend money and have walked out. On one of my last visits the entire staff was working on a floor change or something. This was during a weekday morning, also. I was one of the only customers in the store. After wandering around for a few minutes with a few items in hand, I decided to place them back to where I found them because not one person offered assistance. Two weeks ago I stopped in because I saw an item I wanted in a print ad. I wandered around the store and finally asked someone about the item. He had no idea what I was talking about, and yet this item was also featured in their windows. Another associate popped up from behind and said they would probably get it soon. They both started to walk away. I have had amazing experiences at the Tyson's jcrew, and figured it would not be too much to ask to be contacted when the item came in to the georgetown store. The associate looked confused and then got me a card to write my contact info upon. I asked him to confirm that someone would contact me, and he assured me they would. I also inquired about the promo email I received and he said I should be fine because it probably doesn't expire. I had to inform him that it expired on the 31st. His response, "oh". Needless to say I popped by over a week later, and there was the item. A helpful gentleman engaged me, and asked if I came in to look at the item specifically. I said yes, and let him know the situation. He didn't realize that I was frustrated, but was helpful enough (which rarely happens). I asked him when the item came in and he said about a week ago. My blood was boiling. The service has been so poor that I actually considered calling the Tyson's men's store to have the item shipped to me. However, I had to have the item and didn't want to wait any longer. While I realize that everyone has an off day out there, I can confidentially say that this store consistently gives poor service. My future purchases will be through Tyson's, as they actually want to see me, and spend time helping me. read more
