J&D service responded quickly to come out and inspect a burning smell we were detecting coming from our range. We had just bought the home and were concerned that it could be electrical. Jeremiah (?) took apart our range and thoroughly inspected it. He noted that there were no faulty wires. Everything about the range and oven looked brand new, though he noted that it was a much older model leading him to believe that the previous owner had thoroughly cleaned it (even the oven window was spotless) and concluded that they may have replaced a burner. He informed us that the new burner can emit a plastic burning smell until the oils wear off. He took his time going over everything. He also gave us some great tips on how to maintain our other appliances to extend their longevity. He was very courteous. He spent over an hour and only charged us the service fee he quoted to us before we hired him. Even though my husband was present, I would feel completely safe to have him in my home if I were a single woman. As several weeks have passed since his visit the smell has disappeared. So, we believe his diagnosis was correct. We will definitely use him again should the need arise. read more

Jeremiah was amazingly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We called him to look at our refrigerator that had died. He checked it out and told us he could fix it, but said we would be much smarter to just buy a new one because of the cost of repair. After great suggestions for buying a new fridge, he also gave us a whole list of advice on all our other appliances. We mentioned we weren't sure our dryer was doing its best, and he even took out equipment and checked that out at no extra cost. Jeremiah was great! He was also less expensive than the other quotes I had from other repair shops. When I called to make the appointment, his wife answered the phone and was so nice that we knew we were making the right choice. This review is long overdue from several months ago. Superb responsiveness and service. Our dishwasher wasn't cleaning dishes well and was leaking. and the refrigerator water dispenser was malfunctioning. I called J&D based on the high ratings and found that they gladly service Jamestown as well as Greensboro. Dori listened attentively, asked for some info on the models, and arranged for Jeremiah to visit within a couple of days. He fixed things up and I got a great explanation of what was wrong. Later the dishwasher acted up a little more, and Jeremiah came back out and rechecked, no charge. Got advice on soap kind and amount, and everything has been great since! I highly recommend J&D. I don't normally post reviews but I'm breaking that rule for J+D. My fridge stopped cooling on Tuesday and I put in a service request with my home warranty company. the best they could do is a week from when I put in the request. I explained that I will not be home for the week in question and their response is for me to get someone else to do it and pay on my dime. called around and got J+D and Jeremiah was here in 3 hours and got the unit fixed. Jeremiah came to rescue for the second time. Built in oven had quit working and Jeremiah found some wiring that had issues from when installed. He corrected the wiring but still no power. He then traced the power cable under the house and found the problem. J + D Appliance is the most efficient and knowledgable service technician I have ever worked with. GE Refrigerator leaking water from freezer on floor. I called one day and made appointment for next day. Jeremiah was on time, courteous, and immediately identified problem and within a short time my freezer was working! Great service by Viviana to keep me informed about my appointment. My dryer would not heat, I'd self diagnosed and found no blockage and the fuses seemed to be good.
