We've been using Convenient Appliance repair since 2000. They were generally reliable. However, they've recently changed. We had them come out and change a run of the mill Whirlpool refrigerator door gasket. Our bill was a whopping $430! And they said the part cost $140. Geesh. I had a great experience with Convenient Appliance. They performed a warranty repair on our Bosch cooktop and did an excellent job.

So far I'm having a hard time I made arrangements to have someone at my house to be there to fix my refrigerator it's not fixed I know they ordered a part but still stated it didn't absolutely need it but I could go ahead and order but either way won't leak anymore it's leaking worse so now I'm trying to schedule them to come on my lunch this week that was last week. They told me they can only give me a range 12-2 they guy calls right now says he can come I said I don't get lunch till 12 can we make that work he then says if u don't take this who knows when it'll be? I said okkkk well I'm trying to work will y'all I already paid to have y'all out once it wasn't fixed so I'm trying to be there I can't take off work again I'm in healthcare. He said we will see. I honestly feel no one is trying to help me out or work with me it's disheartening and not what I was expecting. Update he came had the worst attitude and was literally huffing and puffing and smart with me also short when I would ask anything looked at it for 5 means yelled was aggravated I made him miss hearing the ice turn and would have to wait another hour and half then left I called manager told him his rep had me in tears found out other repair guy stopped working there the day he checked him so out 85 with no repairs only a bad taste in my mouth!!!! read more

I have used these guys a few times. Very easy to schedule an appointment. In the past, I had them work on a Bosch washing machine and dryer. I was very happy with the service and costs. Last repair was to a Maytag washing machine that is under warranty. The damn thing would not drain the water out. Of course it breaks on a Friday night. By the time Convenient Appliance Service got here, it was Tuesday and the water was sour (stunk up my upstairs). Not blaming Convenient Appliance Services for this. Just my bad luck. The technician was on time and very professional. Explained the cause and what he had to do to fix it. Highly recommend. Just a note, they technicians carry iPads and can take credit and debit cards as payments. read more

Perhaps the company should consider changing their name to Inconvenient Appliance. The good: They showed up on the day they said they would. They repaired the leak on my refrigerator. The bad: They showed up several hours earlier than scheduled, causing a significant inconvenience. I have a gas range that I bought used. I was told by the seller that one of the burners would not light. The Convenient Appliance technician gave up troubleshooting efforts when he could get no gas flow. He told my wife that the regulator must be bad and recommended getting a new range rather than spending money on a new regulator. The actual problem: The gas shutoff valve at the propane tank was closed. I opened it. Problem solved by me, not Convenient Appliance. The same technician came back out to continue troubleshooting efforts. He tried to light the burners. Stated that he could hear gas flow but could not get any of the burners to light. He stated that there still must be a problem with the gas regulator. He again recommended to my wife buying a new range rather than spending money trying to repair, and left. The actual problem: The gas had not been run long enough to purge the air from the gas lines. I was able to light 3 of the 4 burners after purging the gas lines for about 10 seconds. I was also able to fix the fourth burner by adjusting the position of the igniter. Problem solved by me, not Convenient Appliance. The bottom line: Had I taken the advice of Convenient Appliance, I would have wasted about $500 or so buying a new range and thrown away a perfectly good range that I bought used for $250. Additionally, when my wife spoke to the manager to complain about our experience, he did offer an apology for the inconvenience, but did not offer even a partial refund of the service charge. read more

GE washing machine stopped working after many years. I walked in to this store, asked to speak to technician, and Brad, a technician, came out. I described problem (cycle timer knob no longer working) and he told me how to fix it. He gave me some simple, plastic tie strips to use. No pressure to schedule a $75 service call at my home. And No charge for the advice or the supplies. Now my washer works again. Wow, this is a very good place! read more

They are honest and thorough and they research your equipment before arriving at your house to make sure that they have everything they need to diagnose and repair if possible without having to order special parts. It's so wonderful to know that there are still companies out there that know how to fix things rather than just replace them! read more

Convenient Appliance has come out to the house a couple times, mostly for general maintenance. This time it was for service of both the (Viking) cooktop range and microwave. They were careful to explain that the repair would take a while to get parts, the repair may need to happen with a couple trips and the microwave might not be fixable. They were able to get the cooktop range fixed fairly easily. The microwave not so much and, in the end, encouraged me to just go with a new one. They also made a modest accommodation for the monies I did spend towards the microwave, to no avail, to fix it. I appreciated their goodwill and honest advice. They will remain in my (proverbial) digital rolodex; I'll be calling them again as needed. read more

My washing machine was leaving brown flakes on my clothes. I did my research online and found out it was "scrud", a build up of soap & fabric softener that drys on the lining of the tubs and eventually flakes off. I tried all the remedies suggested, bleach soak and cycle, vinegar & baking soda soak and cycle, then cleansing cycle. Still I had the flakes. I determined there was nothing left to do but remove the tub and scrub it down. There were no disassemble videos online for my particular machine, it was only 3-4 years old. A friend from church told me to try Convenient Appliance in Winston Salem, that they were great folks and would probably answer my questions. Not only did they answer my questions but they also went out of their way to help by giving me much needed advise. Brad was the tech and others from the front counter worker to a gentleman from the back also rendered help. You rarely find service like this these days! Needless to say, when I need parts or service that's beyond my ability they've got my business for sure! read more

They were friendly, courteous, arrived at the appointed time, and David really went above and beyond to answer all sorts of questions I had. Slow response, $75 charge for initial 10 minute service call, waited 2 month for a part, then charged another $50 for a less than 10 minute call to deliver and plug in electronic panel, the guy reeked of cigarettes. Would not recommend. read more
