Yay, FIRST! I'm an…read moreavid attendee of the House of Vans in Brooklyn, NY. I've been there quite a few times for quite a few events and it's always super fun. I'll tell you what though, I went to the HOV in London this past weekend and all I can say is: Chill B. That place is like 100x the size of the BK one, and that's funny because the BK one is REALLY REALLY big (24,000 sq ft allegedly)! First of all, this one has a more underground skater feel to it, mostly because the skate park is literally underground, underneath some arches! It's set up amazingly, with AMAZING graffiti that greets you upon entering. In fact, the whole opening arch is probably half the size of the BK HOV, and you haven't even gone inside yet! Inside there are ramps and such set up for skating, but of course I was there for a show, Vans were doing a collabo with a japanese/english designer and had their launch party on Saturday night with a slew of UK Grime artists performing. The decor was great, seemingly thousands of inflated balloons were everywhere in the stage room, which of course was huge. There was an art display room as well as 2 bars, one by the stage room and one in it's own separate space. Adjacent to the 2nd bar is a movie screening room (WHAT!) and there's an art room where you could check out the clothing that was launching that night. Oh and I almost forgot, there's a working kitchen with chairs and tables for you to sit, set up basically like a cafe! This place is great, and just like the NYC iteration, they have great live (and FREE) concerts that usually have free drinks, though the night we went there were none. *sigh* There was a full bar of course but you had to pay. I guess I'll just have to come back when it's free! The also have free skate days where you can show up with your board and just skate for a while, just like the NYC one. There really is no reason NOT to go to this place. Enjoy!
Pretty sweet huh? I know.

I'm not as enamored by this gym as other reviewers, but I will say that it's OK…read more Back in the States, I was a member of the YMCA. Though Y's aren't known for being glamourous or particularly well-equipped, the ones that I frequented in Delaware and Maryland were amazing. I hoped to find a similar gym in my neighborhood, but quickly learned that gyms of that caliber are very expensive. Instead, I chose price & location over equipment and signed on with Fitness4Less. In September, they ran a student promotion for three months of membership for £69 cash. While that is clearly more expensive that £14.99** per month, I was able to avoid setting up direct debit for the UK bank account that I hadn't established yet. I appreciate that there is rarely (never?) a wait for equipment. I can use the elliptical or free weights whenever my heart desires. The reason that I gave this place only 4 stars is because of the limited morning classes Mon-Fri. In the evening (after 5pm), there is a class almost every hour. The range includes yoga, muy thai fighting, zumba, body conditioning, and krav maga. In the morning, there is one pilates and one core conditioning classes *per week*. The rest of the morning classes are spinning. While I enjoy spinning, I find that the bikes are too small for my tall frame (5'9''). I wish that the variety of evening classes was replicated in the morning. On a positive note: the weekend morning classes are great, especially Bogusha's pilates class. She may be over 60-years-old, but she seriously works your body! **The monthly fee is now £15.99/mo.

I would visit a few times, and the new machines just didn't tempt me. So when I say my most recent Namco station visit came at a surprise, it really did. It had bigger, newer and cooler machines, designed to capture fun for all groups and ages. It almost reminded me back to when I first visited Namco station. I love the giant size connect 4, and the dodging laser beams. Overall I had a great time, something different and best possible way to kill time.

The 3 guys working there were very nice and explained all the safety rules and gave some good advice on how to throw the axes to hit the target. More than likely if you're in a smaller group, they will form you into other groups as axe throwing then gets a little more competitive. There is a winner and a hall of fame wall. The best axe throwers of the group get to duel and challenge each other at the end of the session. The entrance is a little tough to find, as it's behind a gated warehouse. But follow signs for Whistle Punks along the gate, and they will buzz you in. A lot of photo and double axe throwing opportunities as well. Card only for their non-alcoholic bar ;)

Be that as it may, I think we'd be remissed to not also admit to choosing locations based on the cost of their leases as almost none are all that easy to find from the local Tube stop (coming from a bike rider), most being at least a few block away, after taking numerous lefts and rights to find the destination. The Borough location, yes, has ample sunlight and a good deal of space for each station, but the overall space of the gym itself is not all that accommodating. I could foresee this becoming very crowded during peak hours. Couple that with a lack of multiple pieces of the same equipment, and you have queues at the squat rack et al. However, I found more than ample space in the locker rooms which begs the question: are there more people in the lock rooms than on the gym floor? Still, if you could manage to get in during a non-peak hour I would say this is quite suitable for most people's needs and is relatively clean, which is a big plus.

Clare teaches a Hatha/Restorative for beginners/intermediate class that is slower paced and more meditative and her class makes you feel serene and focused. I have been taking classes there on a weekly basis since November 2018 and my body has benefited from the sweating, stretching, binding, and flexing. Every class is a challenge but so much clarity, calm, and alignment comes afterwards.

It will help you discover a more relaxed and responsive state through controlled breathing techniques in the presence of Himalayan salt vapors and its many health benefits.Salt is a mineral rich in anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammation properties. Since ancient times, salt therapy has been recognized as a means of strengthening the immune system and improving overall health. Although salt baths are more generally known and accepted, salt breathing--or halo-therapy--finds its roots right alongside other forms of ancient salt therapy methods. Salt gives off negative ions, which, when breathed deeply, may help our bodies balance the storm of positive ions we absorb from phones, computers and TVs as well as much of the electrical technology we are exposed to on a daily basis. It could help promote a greater equilibrium in our bodies, as well as keep us stronger, healthier and more resilient to the outside world. Among its many benefits, this class helps improve numerous aspects of your life including reaction time and short term memory. Those who have tried this practice have described feeling more relaxed and less distracted by their fleeting thoughts, demonstrating an enhanced ability to solve problems and recall information better.
