I called Tuesday morning and explained what I wanted done. They came out Wednesday afternoon and gave me an estimate to prune one large live oak and three pecans. I have been using J Davis for more than 20 years. They have fare price for what has to be done and better than others that I have called. They are quick to respond to my calls and send a crew out the day that I want. They clean everything up before they leave, sometimes even better than when they got here. We scheduled my spring trimming and when the four man crew arrived, two of the J Davis cutters expressed their FEAR of climbing large Cottonwood trees and left. The son who quoted the job was on this way but the team said that I would have to reschedule. The crew boss was embarrassed and apologized. I asked if the boss was still coming by and the crew said no! I called the office and requested that the son call me ASAP. With in minutes the son called and also apologized and shared my frustration. He did not have a crew willing to service my trees and needed to get ahold of his partner, cousin, to try to see if his best crew could possibly find time. The son said that he would get back with me in an hour or two, and did not. After 4 hours, feeling like my patronage was not important to J Davis Tree Service, I contacted a competitor who came out within the hour and quoted me half the price and had a crew here 90 minutes later. I had a 70 foot Pecan Tree between my house and carport , only a 10 foot area between both . The crew cut each limb and lowered them down , each person had a particular job and the tree removed with surgical precision . These guys are PRO'S and within 4 hours the tree was gone ! They have professional equipment and the crew very friendly , I was blown away at their professionalism .Clean up afterwards was also done very well . As some of the reviews say , they are not the cheapest but in my opinion they are the SAFEST most professional tree crew I have ever witnessed ..With the dangerous messy tree gone I sleep better not worrying about it falling and causing massive damage anymore .If you have a problem tree I highly recommend J. I made an appointment for yesterday. They were prompt and surveyed my tree needs. Today, Randy Hamblin arrived promptly. He immediately pruned my trees and removed a tree after reviewing what needed to be done and discussing the fees. He also removed all debris. There is not even a leaf on the ground. Excellent service! The price is perfect. I cannot be happier and I will not be using any other tree service ever. read more

Keith Glenn came out from J Davis Tree Care Solutions to give a quote to our neighbor whose tree had been damaged and was hanging dangerously over our backyard shed. They must have given quite a good quote because the neighbor did not hesitate to inform Keith that is was his best quote and he had used their services before and were pleased. As promised, his crew came out the next day and did an excellent job in taking the tree down and it was so nice to see that they had cleaned everything up that had come down. I would quickly recommend this company. They were professional, clean, friendly and knew exactly what they were doing. So glad they were safe too because it was a very large tree with a split that went very far down the trunk. read more

I had them do extensive work in April. The job was not fully completed. Numerous contacts with them finally brought out Keith Glenn approximately 4-5 weeks ago who assured me they would come back to finish the work within about 2 weeks max as they were busy. My repeated inquiries since seem to be received with consternation and a they'll get to it when can attitude. While payment for the job was prompt and full the completion of it is not. read more

The J Davis crew had a huge, long overdue project at my home with trimming and removals, but the crew completed it efficiently, professionally, and in a timely way. We were impressed with the crew's friendly, helpful attitude. They were polite, and the yard was cleaned perfectly when they left both days. The crew and I both overlooked one small area where branches were encroaching on power lines. My husband spotted it the next evening. The crew was back to clear that area the day I called. They kept me informed on what they were doing and checked in on arrival and departure. Our yard looks great again. We will use J Davis when our trees need attention again. Fast and complete job,removed tree large and complete clean up!The price was very fair problem solved. I will definitely use for other jobs!

They do a great job. My frustration with them is that if you want to be under contract with them where they automatically come out and service your trees two or three times per year than they have to bill you EVERY month. I don't want 12 separate charges on my credit card for 2 or 3 services per year. And if you are not "under contract, when you call to schedule a service they will tell you they are doing their "contract" clients first and you have to wait. Unfortunately, I forgot to call until mid June but the good news is they are done with all their "contract" clients so I can get right in. They need to change their billing practice. read more

First of all, there are a lot of bad tree care companies out there that will tell you your trees need care that they don't and charge you a fortune for it. J Davis Tree Care is not one of those companies! Billy came out to look at a tree that had died on our property (we were worried that it was disease that would claim our other trees) and gave us an honest assessment that did NOT cost us! He gave us a great education on our tree health and, since they did not have to do any work, did not charge us. We will DEFINITELY use them when we need to have our trees pruned or removed. Have to say, this has been one of the most, pathetic excuses for customer service I have ever experienced... Their "arborist" is a joke, and to be totally honest I'm not sure if he's actually qualified to be an arborist in the first place from the answers I received.... We requested assistance with a Japanese Maple tree that we really enjoy in our yard. After making the appointment, doing plenty of due diligence on our own, and wondering what else could be done to make sure our tree was as healthy as can be, I received a call stating that the arborist was not even going to attempt to look at our tree because " they are temperamental, and he doesn't really deal with them" and really we should probably just go ahead and contact our local nursery and see if maybe they had any suggestions.... Excuse me? Is he not a professional? Is he outsourced? Hence why I am questioning his credentials at this point.... I don't know what world we live in that a professional can just turn down work because it might be more difficult then a quick in and out visit for $150.00....I then asked if perhaps this unprofessional arborist would be able to point us toward a true professional that would have more knowledge a work ethic towards our scenario... The response I received was " he doesn't know anyone" ....you can imagine my shock at this point, he doesn't seem to know anything at all, or anyone...Probably doesn't know anything regarding the arborist association of dallas, or any of the other arborist groups around given the lack of effort, helpfuness, and responses I received. Don't waste your time with this company if you expect to get any real help, at least from their so called arborist....Seems their labor workers do a fantastic job, from the other reviews, but I won't be taking that risk.... read more
