I called today at 10:49 to see if I could get a haircut. Was told they just had a cancellation for 11. I said I could get there by 11:15 (it is a 25 minute drive for me). Was told that was fine and to come in, just might not have time for a shampoo. I received a text at 10:49 confirming the 11:00 appointment and was reminded of a $25 'no show' penalty. I walked in at 11:14. Receptionist said 'the stylist says there is not enough time.' I asked why she hadn't called me. "Well, was just going to but you walked in." Oh well. an hour out of my day gone. I got the impression that they didn't care. If you waste their time you pay a fine. If they waste your time, you get a shrug. read more

This place is beyond incredible! Greeted with a prompt, warm welcome. Minimal wait time, which flew by thanks to excellent conversation. Anna did an absolutely spectacular job! I honestly can't say what I enjoyed more, the haircut or the conversation. She's an awesome person to engage with!!! The shampoo and conditioner produce remarkable locks that will incite jealousy to anyone whom you may encounter. Loved coming but had a very bad experience my last visit. On October 30th 2023, We saw a different barber than we normally did and my son and I got our haircut. The lady had zero gapped clippers and sliced my ear open and it bled everywhere. She was very apologetic. It's unfortunate that we paid such a premium price and safety was not at the maximum. Generally they did a great job but I can't risk coming back and me or worse, my son, getting hurt. read more

I've been seeing Gina for almost two years. Before her I'd seen a number of stylists and she has turned out to be the best. J. groomed is located in a small commercial strip, but don't let that fool you. Inside it is, without a doubt, an upscale establishment. The last time I went, because of the coronavirus, I had a different stylist. Renee also did an excellent job. My hope is that they survive this shut down. Had my first haircut there and was very impressed with the customer service and the appearance of the shop. My barber was Jax and she was amazing! It's very difficult to find someone that knows how to cut hair that unfortunately grows in different directions due to curls but she was fantastic! I have been coming here since opening. Followed my stylist from another location. Well worth the drive up to boerne. Building is always clean. Service is always prompt. Love the ability to do online appointments. Price very comparable to other higher end locations but service better. I don't drink but they definitely have more than the usual cheaper beer selections many places now offer. read more

This place is very clean and the hair stylists are great. Iv been here a couple times and had my hair cut and I liked the cut both times. The only problem I have is that this place IS NOT a barber shop, it is a men's salon. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but if you are looking for a place to go and chop it up with the boys it's not the place. I have for most of my adult life gone to hair salons to get my hair cut, and that's what they'd only do. It's my first time to try a place specifically dedicated to men grooming. I must say I'm very impressed. I've heard of and seen similar places like this, but none that were close to me or the vibes just weren't what I felt like I would like. I loved the rustic look and the people are so friendly! I had Mariel cut my hair. I am very impressed how well she was able to get what I was going for and even executing it better than I had imagined. My wife took my father in law to about 5 different places to get his haircut about a couple of weeks ago or so & the stylist or barber would do a quick Consultation with them & my wife & father in law would leave because they felt the stylist or barber didn't know what to do as far as a style for him or they didn't like what the stylist/barber recommended. They ended up at J. Groomed & a stylist there named Shei took care of them. My wife & father n law said she was very kind & patient & listened to many different cuts for him. My father n law said Shei asked him 3 questions. What was his favorite time in his life when he felt the best about himself & his appearance. What kind of music did he liked & was he a stay at home person or did he like to socialize. From those 3 questions Shei nailed it. The haircut she gave my father n law was not even what my wife & father n law even thought about. He was looking like a caveman when he went in & when he came out, we almost didn't recognize him. He looks outstanding! He said the service was top of the line & because of his new look & the kindness of Shei, he's a different man. He goes out now a lot & takes great pride in his appearance. I was completely impressed. We usually go to another local chain however my 16 year old with a beard needed more. I had gone online to see the services. It was so nice to pick what we wanted. I had a computer gliche so I called. The front desk was so helpful and nice. Upon arrival we were offered refreshments. The waiting area is large and very upscale Hill Country furnishings. The stylist introduced herself and walked him back. The stations are in the back and private. They have everything in each station so once you are there you don't move. TVs, hot towels, comfortable chairs and relaxing atmosphere. He enjoyed the treatment and learned how to shave his beard. Our stylist was professional and nice. It was a winner. I really thought it would be over priced but it certainly wasn't for the atmosphere, attentive service and great cut. We will definitely be returning.
