Get ready for sticker shock when you walk in. Now I do have to say to get your hair washed, scalp massage and a trim neckline with a razor are nice, however if you are just looking for a haircut you might consider one of the chains In the local area. Best Barber I've found since moving to SA!! Make an Appt with Emilio ASAP! At first I was skeptical to get a Fade and Cut at a Barbershop in the Stone Oak area of town. When I got to the shop it was kind of upscale and not like your typical barbershop - the barbers wear slacks and dress shirts and there isn't a whole lot of "barber talk" or hip hop music being played. But I decided to get my haircut anyway since I heard Emilio was a legit barber. To be honest the price is a little higher than what you pay at your typical barber shop, but they wash your hair and give you that hot towel treatment. Not to mention Emilio takes his time with the fade, the trim on top, and does legit razor work on eyebrows and beards. My 13yr old has been coming here for the last several months. Easy to schedule appointments and the barbers are very professional to add to the quality atmosphere of the shop. He loves that he can get a cut, wash and razor edge. They are somewhat pricey but that's Stone Oak for you! I even lucked up and discovered a great nail salon next door name Sparkles. read more

I am still here and I am shock. I have NEVER ever I have been ask over and over what I want done for my son. We stop over here just because I was having the car wash done. I regret it. I told the lady that is not shame in saying that she can't. I have taken my kids to barbers before beside kids places as well. But OMG it sucks! It got to the point of me telling her to do what ever is easiest for her. My son hair will grow and I can take him to his normal barber but this particular lady is not worth the time to sit on her chair. read more

Nice place. Detailed haircut. Shawn cut my hair and took extra care to make it and my beard look just right! The place is real nice. Nice hardwood floors, very comfortable chairs, and nice cabinetry. I found this place online, and went to check it out over lunch ( Just switched jobs from Lackland to this area). First off I have to put it out there that I'm not new to any barbershop shop scene, I used to get my haircut in places where you wouldn't expect good customer service, but you did indeed receive such. Once I got there, there was one barber working at that time, which is understandable because it was early in the day, he asked me if I had an appointment and I said no "this is my 1st time here and I wanted to check it out". So told me he had one head before me and that it would be a 15-20 min wait, I said cool, and waited. When he was done with guy before me he then told me there was another customer with an appointment coming in, but it would be quick I was ok with until 20 min went by and I looked in the back he was just sitting there. Look I get the whole appointment thing, but he could've been done with me during that time. Wasted my time I can't go back. read more

Rude as can be, unprofessional the way the owner talked to me, I was a few minutes late. I never said anything wrong or argued. But he felt a need to roast me with his family. Literally has a whole family in there with him just lingering and talking trash too. If I wanted that, I would drive 30 minutes to get my haircut. No respect for the client here. read more

I have not actually been a client of Sideburns, but my car had died while I happened to be parked directly in front of Sideburns. After popping my hood to take a look, one of the guys who worked at the shop came outside to offer a jump for my battery. After getting a jump and realizing it was not my battery and I would need to wait for AAA, he welcomed me inside to sit in the A/C and offered me some water. It was very kind of the shop to offer assistance, especially as they could have hassled me for taking up a spot in front of the store. Thank you guys!! read more

I came to this barber shop in hopes of having my messed up haircut fixed that I received the day prior at The Good Barber. My barbers name was Stew, and he could tell from the moment I took off my hat that "somebody messed me up good". Stew was just amazed at how someone could mess up a simple "low fade" which is what I requested at the previous barber shop. (if you need to catch up, read my review on The Good Barber). Stew did the best he could, which was a thousand times better then my last barber. Stew saved the day and my self confidence because now I don't have to walk around hiding under my hat. Haircut was fine, the guy was friendly. However, $35 for just the haircut (everything else additional)? You can get more for half the price at other barbershops in the same area. read more
