I know it it's a small thing, but there is only one aisle type thing for ammo, and they are sold out sometimes. Nothing bad, just something I noticed.

They never made me feel judged, talked down to, or like I was being a bother. Instead, they were patient, respectful, and took the time to answer everything. I really appreciated that. As for cost, I don't have much to compare it to, but it didn't seem bad, about $20 to rent a lane and $15 to rent a caliber, which lets you try any firearm of that caliber. I ended up trying 3-4 different ones, which was a great experience.

First you have to sign the waiver. Head over to the counter and rent a lane. Provide your ID. Get setup with safety glasses (unless you wear glasses), ear muffs, your own weapon & ammunition and pick your target. We were set. We received some assistance from a safety assistant and had a pretty good practice session. Frontier has plenty of supplies, clothing for sale, refreshments and very helpful personnel.

For a store that claims to support the police and military--who serve everyone equally--Mickey's sure has a funny way of showing it. We took our kids here on a winter break, gray day and it was a lot of fun. First off, there's a mini aquarium when you walk in -- it's nothing to write home about, but it gets the kids attention and they realize right away this is a fun store. From there, you can't miss the gigantic ferris wheel in the middle of the store. Gonna be real, it's fun and worth the wait but also a bit nerve wracking. Something is just odd about quietly swaying at the top of a department store quietly for such a long time. My daughter was like, "Dad, I'm scared to look down!" and all I could think was, "so am I, kid, so am I." We both agreed it's pretty fun once it gets going. There's also a little bowling area where you get five frames for a buck, and ditto to a little arcade game area as well. There's toy stores, outdoor goods, quality brands of clothes and outfitting, and really a nice answer to online shopping. In fact, it feels like malls used to feel in the 90's but a modern spin on everything. We did eat here but I'd say skip it. I didn't find anything I wanted and when I went to finish off my kids chicken tenders I was super underwhelmed and ended up pitching them. I will say at this time they carry Sylas & Maddy's ice cream (best IC in the city IMO) so that was a nice surprise treat. What more could you want if out shopping with the kids?! It's a great spot to kill a quiet afternoon.

And the staff, they were kind of helpful. It was busy,I'm thinking a CCW class must've been going on. Then it came time to try a used Smith and Wesson, and they allowed us a few shots on the range. The range is indoors. It is rather loud even with hearing protection. I had trouble with the firing, after 2, I started to have trouble with the gun itself. The staff were really great, and the problem was possibly me, trying to use it. They have plenty to rent, not many when they are crowded. I would love to go on a day without a crowd, and try out different models, even if I had to pay for range times. I really want to become good at this, without jitters. I did happen to notice the picture of Obama, with a quote about taking our guns. Nah...not gonna happen. So the shop is okay, great place, if you can over come the politics.
