I wouldn't recommend working with J Snyder to anyone unless you're a big fan of obstacle courses .

Horrible horrible place. Don't waste your time or money. Plenty of better therapists and practices out there. Shouldn't even be practicing.

My daughter's anxiety can wax and wane so it is very helpful that Brian gives her homework assignments to stay on top of everything. He even helped us with finding a psychiatrist. It took us a while to find Brian but it was worth it. We still have booster sessions with him to help our daughter after completing extensive treatment which is very helpful for her.

I am a little hesitant to write this because I do think Brian is a nice guy and means well. Yet,…read morethat doesn't change that he is not the OCD expert he claims to be and he was really ineffective in when treating me. My case is neutral obsessions. If he was a general therapist, I wouldn't bother with the review, but he is claiming to be an OCD expert and that's a dangerous misrepresentation to people suffer from the same OCD I suffer from. I first saw Brian Moran in May 2018. He was working at a clinic as opposed to the private practice he has now. The first red flag is when he talked about avoiding stuff. I asked him what he thought I was avoiding and didn't really get an answer for that. It wasn't until a couple sessions of where I would get the gist of what he was about. I had just seen my family and talked about it. He started saying, "Didn't you feel so much better when you saw your family?" I said a little bit but not to the level he seemed to be implying it should. Then he went on to say that I needed life. He went on to say even the severest cases of OCD benefit from life. Nevertheless, I went along with Brian on this. In fact, he was telling me that he had many clients who he couldn't talk into doing life and acknowledged I was trying to do life. I was holding a job, exercising and going to Church. Yet, I was experiencing a lot of pain from OCD during that time and couldn't sleep at night. So, I emailed him saying I tried to go through life but I am really despondent at this point and experiencing a lot of obsessions. He told me that any obsession that I experienced was not worth my time and to just focus on the present moment at hand. From that email and forward sessions, it would be just those two issues: live life and not pay any attention to any obsession. During these sessions, he would acknowledge he was sounding like a broken record. Not to mention, even in my state, I sensed there had to be more than what he was just saying. I mean living life and focusing on the present are just such general things that any therapist could say. And if those two things were all that was needed to treat OCD, then why does an OCD expert need to exist where any therapist could say those things? Around that time, I emailed an therapist who was writing about the OCD I was suffering from. He said in his email and I quote, "living an active life is hardly an intervention." Likewise I told my psychiatrist that I was spiraling out of control and more worried because I was seeing a person who claimed to be an OCD expert. I did what he said and was feeling worse not better because of it. Even my psychiatrist sensed that Brian is too general and needs to be more specific. He notified Brian about this. In our last session, I began to tell him there was a real disconnect here between us. He sensed it was because he didn't say how hard it was to live life. Also, he mentioned what my psychiatrist had told him but all he did was suggest more life activities I could do. I shouted at him that I need to know things are going to get better here but all he communicated was life, He offered at the end of the session to spend more time next session but I knew it would be a waste because he would have nothing more to say but life. Around that time, I started with a new therapist and wrote an email to Brian that I was ending service with him because all he mentioned was life and I had got a second opinion from an OCD expert, who did not say I just needed life. He then called me to talk about this but at the end of the call, I said," It doesn't feel like we did any exposure or response prevention, which are the ways to treat OCD." His reply, "The life is the exposure or response prevention." His website mentions anxiety and OCD. He claims this his clients are 85% OCD. This is not a general therapist. He's claiming to be an OCD expert and he really isn't. I don't want anyone who suffer from neutral obsessions as I did to waste time and money with him and will feel worse, not better. Message me at my profile if you suffer from neutral obsessions or OCD, I will direct you where to go.
