Eeek, Salon Allure's gotten a bit big for their britches…read more.. The morning of my good friend's wedding. Four bridesmaids and the mother of the groom trek to Salon Allure for some high falutin', super stylin' hair flair. Armed with muffins, fruit and champagne, this was to be a few hours to relax before the madness... Salon Allure has a BEAUTIFUL new space. Relaxing, classic, smooth and contemporary. Nestled in an up-and-coming stretch of Union Street...it's poised to pamper. Nice digs. The good... Heather did my hair and the hair of one other bridesmaid. She was talkative, congenial, gave me the perfect "country club" poof hair. A little bit fancy, but mostly I looked myself, but a grown up. She even hid my streak (for the most part), and I'm sure the bride appreciated that ;) She curled the hell out of the other girl's hair...looked beautiful. The bad: The rest of the staff just seemed terribly unenthused. It was disappointing. The girl that did two of the girl's hair was hardly friendly, borderline curmudgeonly. But, whatever...it is what it is, and then...we got the bill. I am sorry, my friends. If you are going to charge $95 for a pretty novice looking updo, you best do it with a damn smile. $95. I was in SHOCK. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. None of them took over 40 minutes. My blowdry style: $45 3 updos: $95/pop Mother of the Groom: $80 So we are talking, around $500 with tip to basically rearrange some hair. Make an effort. SERIOUSLY. So, basically...this place needs to get over itself....or step up to the plate with better work and better service. (this excludes Heather, she was great). But 50 percent still equals: pretty lacking. 3 stars is generous, as it may have been an off day. But hey, your friend only gets married once, and I don't live here anymore...so one chance is all they get....we could've gotten better styles at JC Penny for almost HALF the price.

Beware there is no regard to you as the customer and you won't get a refund when your hair is ruined and had to get my hair fixed by another salon. I took a picture of what I wanted and was told by Susie that she could do the highlight and still have it look natural, as the picture. I got anything but natural. I had to have it as fixed with a dark toner to take all the orange out of my hair. The stylist that fixed my hair said it was not toned correctly plus too many out of place highlights not even close to my hair line. I was hoping for a refund since my hair is now damaged but I was told the damage was not her fault. Susie let me know, It Was fixed already and I was happy with it so the orange color was done at home so she will not refund. the other salon manager says it's unfortunate because it's stylist's like this that make them all look bad. I was told by the other salon that what happened is the blonde was not left on long enough and then the toner was put on as a bandaide. For a stylist to not own this mistake and make it right is a first for me. Especially when payed 350.00. I am extremely disappointed. my hair looks awful now and out a lot if money after also had to pay extra for it to be fixed as well. Customer service is awful. Susie made it clear I was lucky she even fixed my hair without charging me. I guess she will normally change to fix a very uneven bleach job That she failed to do correctly, she stated it looked great but looked so cheap and awful. After you tried two attempts and it's not right then refund. I should not have orange roots after I wash my hair and ash dark blonde. Also Susie Started the appointment 15 mins late, rushed the highlight didn't processes correctly. This highlight was completely done wrong from square one. I had to come back to have it fixed and then next day have it fixed again at a different salon. I should have not needed to use purple shampoo after a good highlight. blaming the customer like I asked for too much is poor service. worst experience and color I have ever had.

She did such an amazing job with just that little input from me, and her airbrushing made my skin look awesome. She did hair for me and all of my bridesmaids--they all looked beautiful, and she was super fast! Overall, I would definitely recommend Victoria for wedding hair and makeup.

She didn't seem sure of herself to the point she kept going into the back to get the head stylist (I'm assuming that was her role) to verify she was doing it correctly. Once my hair was washed and dried, my hair was nothing like I asked me! It was so red and nothing why I wanted. Not only was the color wrong, but by that weekend, all the color was washed out! I'm back to my original color! I'm giving this place 2 stars just based on the location itself. It's a beautiful salon with very friendly people. Just for $180 for just hair coloring (no cut was done) to just have it not stay after 1 wash 3 days later. Needless to say, it was a waste of money and I'll be going somewhere else for my hair. **Update** It's 8/17 and I haven't heard anything back from them. Very disappointed...
