Sloppy and overpriced with a "who cares" attitude. Did a washing machine water outlet valve replacement and installed the box assembly crooked and secured with a partially set deck fence screw while they knowingly and intentionally left a pile of drywall dust hiding behind washer with a minor attempt to sweep up. read more

Previously, a plumbing company employee said that our dripping tub faucet could not be repairable. Freeman sent Chase and Julian. They inspected the problem, presented their findings, gave us repair options, and made the proper repairs. Another tub would be stopped up from time to time, other plumbing companies have cleared the drain, and charged us. Chase was the first to say that there was improper piping causing the problem, and will repair it. Because I have found J.W. This is the fourth plumbing job we have had JW Freeman Plumbing due and, as with the other three, they did a terrific job. This time the plumber, Ethan, and his assistant, Kash replaced a custom shower pan and freshwater lines and valve in a shower redo and the lines and and valve in a tub surround redo in a different bathroom. We had Mike come out to give a quote for our worst-case scenario, to resolve a problem we have been dealing with for 10 years. Some communication issues on whether or not the fix was under warranty , because I was told it was on the phone but then was told it wasn't in person by the tech. They could have looked. They could have fixed my toilet but chose to ignore the issue and gaslight me with bills, hundreds of dollars, for only troubling themselves to snake the line, 4 times. They could have told me the truth. And the reason I am writing this review now, in all its negative concept is because they couldn't even be bothered to return my phone call telling them the problem was not resolved by their numerous (4) visits, most recently, a short 5 weeks ago. They could have done the job correctly and could have retained a loyal customer. They could have done the job correctly. They didn't. One technician from a different company took 30 minutes, fixed the issue that was a too long chain and a badly positioned handle. Freeman could have done it. I could have saved a lot of money. They could have fixed it if they'd known what they were doing. I did the best thing I COULD have done. I deleted them from my list of trusted repair contractors. They didn't give me any other option. So our pipes decided to start leaking as old pipes do. I did a quick search and found a surprising amount of plumbers near me, so I chose one and mistakenly called a different plumber. I reviewed that service already but after all those shenanigans I got into contact with J.W. Freeman. It was like night and day; the difference in customer service was astounding and honestly they brought me a whole lot of relief when I needed it most. First, they sent someone to check the situation out and give us an estimate. The plumber, BJ, showed up exactly when they said he would, which was amazing because I didn't have to waste my day waiting around for them. BJ really made me feel like we were a priority. He was very honest and gave us some very reassuring words that brought us some much needed peace of mind. They sent out another plumber, who came within a few days to fix our pipes as well as install a new water heater. The service was fast, non-intrusive, and, most importantly, was properly done. The pricing was very fair. But the did charge us a 3% up charge for paying with a credit card. read more

I have tried to schedule 2 appointments with this company the first was about 1 week ago they gave me a call time between 12-3 and we made arrangement to be home but had an appointment at 4:00pm they called at 2:55pm and told us they would be there in 30-40 minutes I informed them we had to leave at 4:00pm so they rescheduled. I spoke to them personally and made arrangements for someone to be at the house by 8:30 this am as I had to get to work by 9:30 so need to leave the house by 9:15. At 8:45 when no one showed up I called and their response is our call time is between 8:30 - 9:00, the plumber showed up at 9:00am and I informed him that I had to leave at 9:15 so he indicated he could not complete the work in 15 minutes so recommended we reschedule. This company has no consideration for the customers time as my wife and I both work so are not at home waiting for service agents. You would think that as a first appointment someone should be able to get there by 8:00am but that obviously did not happen This is just bad customer service read more

After 2 service calls ( $300+total) the problem was not recognized and blamed on my tenants not using the shower properly. When we pointed on a leak it took multiple visits and after all we were left with another problem: broken tiles. Highly frustrated with this company, would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Horrible and incompetent service!!! Do not waist your time and money with this company!!!! I live in Jacksonville but have a rental unit in Gainesville. Last February I called JW Freeman to detect and fix a leak from the bathroom on the second floor to the ceiling downstairs. They came, cut a hole in the ceiling and told me that nothing is leaking. I fixed the ceiling. Ten month later the leak happened again. I call JW Freeman and they repeat the same procedure - cut the huge hole in the ceiling and told me that water leaked because tenants spill the water while using the shower. When I came to fix the ceiling I noticed that all shower handles are leaking. I called JW Freeman and they agreed that it's valve leaking and cause the problem and ordered a valve repair kit and sent technician. He couldn't replace the leaking part - " seats" but only installed new handles and acknowledged that leak is still there. If he couldn't replace the seats, fix the leak - he shouldn't instal new handles and try to charge me for them. Finally we agreed to replace valve. After two years and me paying them for coming and not detecting the problem and many trips and coordinating their appointments with tenants they left me with cracked tiles with broken grout around. And now I have to hire someone to fix the tiles that they broke..... read more

I would write a review of less than one star but I cannot. If you want reliable service do not go here please. It is a headache that is not worth it. I had someone from this company come in to fix a leaking pipe and they did. However, in the process they created a different problem. When I went to turn on my shower, water would still come out from the bottom faucet. Because of this, they sent another guy to fix this issue that the original plumber could not solve. However the new plumber seemed to be in a hurry for some reason. Once he "finished" the job I had to check quickly if he had fixed the problem. He did, but I noticed after he left that he did not properly seal off knobs that turn on the shower (you can see images of this below). Additionally, I tried to talk to him after checking the shower and he was incredibly disrespectful. In the middle of talking to him he walked away and got in his truck. He walked into my house acting like he owned the place and walked out doing the same. I've genuinely never had such a negative Interaction with a company before. If you ever decide to use this company good luck. read more

For the past approx 5 years or more I have always called on Freeman plumbing and for the most part I was satisfied with the work. At times the workers left much to be desired as far as being personable was concerned there is room for improvement. I called on them Sat earlly afternoon to see if they can come out and fix the pipe that burst in my back yard and left me with no water as of this writing which is Sunday 6;45pm. Not even a phone call to say we can't come out or we don't do emergencies. I will now be looking for another plumber that comes when it may be a weekend instead of a week day. If my money is not good enough during the weekend then it's not good enough during the week. read more

During the initial inspection, the J.W. Freeman employee spent a solid 30 minutes with us hashing out all the fine details that the work would entail. Then we had a couple other companies come in, but they stayed for no more than 5 minutes - the choice was obvious even if the price was a little bit more. The person who came to do the free audit set the bar very high. These technicians did phenomenal work! After realizing that the main supply pipe to the house was already made of PVC, the men on sight agreed to save us more than $500 since they didn't need to replace that part! You better believe that I will spread their name around town for the excellent work they put into this job. I had to call up the technicians a few months later because I realized a spigot didn't work properly. For no fee whatsoever, the technician came back to us and for completely free of charge fixed the issue without complaints. I called JW Freeman Plumbing to reconnect the kitchen sink and install a new faucet and disposal after getting new counter tops. BJ called to say he was on his way at the scheduled time and after I showed him what I needed done, he proceeded to complete the job efficiently and completely. BJ was very polite, organized, and explained everything completely! He even looked at another remodel job I was considering and described what needed to be done and offered a no cost estimate when I was ready to proceed. The cost of the work today was extremely reasonable and BJ even made sure everything was drip free and working! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Great job BJ and JW Freeman Plumbing! On 1/15/20 I had the inlet valve on my water heater fail which flooded my master bath, closet, and portion of my master bedroom. I caught it early which minimized the damage but still needed to repair the inlet valve. I called JW Freeman after 4pm, and after explaining my problem, they had someone here before 6pm. The repair was properly made using new brass fittings, Simon explaIned what he had to do, and all was completed in just a few minutes, and at a REASONABLE price! He explained possible issues , took a look around and solved the problem within half an hour. Thank you J. W. Freeman Plumbing for saving us! When my husband accidentally broke off the water spigot outside, water started spewing everywhere. First, the lovely person who answers the phone walked us through finding the water meter to turn off the water, and then she found one of her plumbers who could get here within minutes. Moving in a house that had midget toilets we had to find a plumber. Freeman got excellent Yelp reviews. Starting with Shep who answered the phone who was very helpful picking out the new toilets. Scheduled to meet our time most everything went smoothly. The toilets are great! There was a hitch with the installation of a faucet and a question on charges but Freeman's saw our point and refunded us what was a fair amount. This alone speaks highly of this company. I needed a dishwasher installed and I called on a Friday afternoon at around noon. The man on the other line was very nice and told me he could arrange for someone to get out to my place in the two hours. In no time the plumber came out and was installing my dishwasher. They were up front about pricing and how much the charge per hour. The plumber that came even offered to take my old dishwasher for me downstairs and to take the old boxes for me. I was overall very satisfied and would recommend them for any plumbing services needed. The plumber also explained what he was doing and why certain tools were necessary. We just moved to Gainesville and we are so happy that we were referred to J W. Freeman. The quality of work is excellent on both jobs that we hired them for. Most recently, we had David and Joel out to repair a leak in our kitchen faucet. Both men were pleasant, professional and patient while I contacted my husband for more information. David went the extra mile and emptied out the water for me that I had been collecting in a basin. I was dumping the leaking water into a larger basin so that I could take it to another sink later. I was watching my grandbaby and didn't want to leave the room to use the other sink. He did this without being asked. In addition, the communication with the company through BJ Dose was excellent.
