Spectacular brunch. Great service. The biscuits and gravy are the best I've ever had. The grilled cheese (I am a grilled cheese fanatic) is perfect with the habanero jelly. I did not care for the tomato soup even without the shrimp because it still tasted too fishy. But no worries. This is where me and my boyfriend went on our first date. The craft beer selection was an assemblage of meticulously crafted brew chosen wisely and the taps do change so there's always the option for something new. Nick choose the Blood Honey and I chose the Olde School Dogfish Head. I would like to recommend a fine Japanese scotch with your dessert. Each painting on the wall is a real conversation starter. Best meal I've had in a very long time. WOW!!! In my top five favorites. Great front house staff and whoever's in the kitchen is phenomenal. Our table ordered the fried shrimp with cheese grits, a Cuban sandwich, a hamburger, the cheese sandwich, and creamed spinach. Everyone at the table thought their plate was the best and we all tasted each other's dish. Yum!!! Desert consisted of Creme Brûlée and the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. OMG! Best Creme Brûlée I've ever had. Better than any in New Orleans I've ever eaten. Every bite at lunch was a mind blowing experience. Great job J. Wilson's. I'll make the drive often. We were in Beaumont for work and wanted to try J. Wilson's Monday, but it was closed. We came in on Tuesday and noticed right away that the place was pretty busy for a Tuesday at 5:30. Haley was our server and she was a delight. I had the flank steak salad and my colleague had the Flank Steak Stack. We both enjoyed our meals, but his Flank Steak was NOT on a bed of potatoes. Seemed kind of weird, but he wasn't that hungry so didn't worry about it. I did get extra dressing and I think the salad needed it. Haley was attentive without hovering. Great atmosphere, great food, GREAT service. Liked it so much, we came back on Wednesday. This time Arielle was our server. Lots of personality and a great sense of humor. I got the salad again because I wanted to try a dessert. My colleague got the ribeye and broccoli. It looked spectacular and he said it was. I left room for dessert and got the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. So, so, great. I'm often disappointed in restaurant desserts because the flavor, or portion, come up short. Neither was the case with the bread pudding. Just great. The restaurant was even busier on Wednesday. When you're on the road, you love to find a spot where you feel comfortable. Brunch...pork enchilada stack. Creamed spinach. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Coffee. It was all amazing! Some may find it pricey but I easily could have made 2 meals out of this serving. I was embarrassed to have to leave so much left on my plate but we weren't going home so we couldn't take to go boxes. I didn't try the mimosas because I had my son with me but it's on my list! I've eaten several meals here. It's always good, and the atmosphere is perfect for an after work wind down with a few co workers. The best meal I've had is the weekend brunch. I had the crabs cake Benedict and my son had the biscuits and gravy. Both were perfect and reasonably priced. We always have good service as well. read more

Great atmosphere, friendly service, and unique dishes. This place is a breath of fresh air amongst the chains, excessive Tex Mex, and over fried/over salted places Beaumont has. Not much of a drinker, but every cocktail I've had here has been tasty too. A bit loud inside, so if you want to have a good conversation with your dinner, maybe go early. read more

So we had the man candy and it was seriously amazing!! We were super undecided between that and the fried pickles but don't regret our decision for a second. The drinks were amazing if any of you like milk stouts try the 50/50 eclipse salted caramel. For dinner we had the burger that was seriously from heaven. This burger was created for the almighty God himself. How they were able to replicate Gods burger is beyond me. I also had the stuffed chicken which was such an amazing compliment to our meal and would order over and over it's that good. I'm so impressed with our meals, our service, and our drinks. So.... This was our first visit . My hubby and I both had the ribeye steak with sides of potato wedges and broccoli. Steaks were cooked to perfection and were served hot off the grill. Broccoli was delicious, potatoes were good. The coleslaw was good, but it got quite warm from being on the hot plate with the steak. Our server was great and the food came out quickly. I would have rated this five stars, but it was so unbelievably noisy. We literally had to shout across the the table to talk to one another. The brunch at J Wilson's was Fantastic. I had the special: skillet brunch served with scrambled eggs , bacon, hash browns, cheese, onions. It had tortillas on the side , which I made 3 breakfast tortillas and still had some left over to eat alone. Me wife had their version of eggs Benedict, substituted bacon for the pulled pork. She had her choice of sides. She chose the fresh fruit plate. She said she really enjoyed.ot all. Waffles and French toast tempted me. The food was overpriced and overhyped. They have some interesting menu options to say the least but we went home disappointed. The grown man grilled cheese was just a greasy heap of cheese, bacon and bread. The most disappointing item would have to be the boudin balls. They tried to make their own twist on them and it was just too much and ruined this classic imo. The jelly and sauce they poured on top just ended up making me sick in the end they honesty didn't even taste like boudin balls either. All in all if your a fan of high priced foods with odd twists this would be your place but it's just not for me. read more

This was our first time here and it was fabulous. Our server was MARY N. And she was so sweet. Very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us decide what we wanted. We started with the Man Candy and the BBQ shrimp. They were both delish! Then for entre we both chose the corn crusted red snapper. It was so good. We made reservations to come back for Valentines Day dinner. While we were there 2 managers came to our table to assist with the future reservation and I hate that I didn't catch their names but they were both very nice. Can't wait to come back! read more

Stopped to eat here on our way to Florida. We stumbled upon a gem! This place was so good, people are so friendly. We have a big family and they were so accommodating. This will be a must stop anytime we are in Beaumont. We had the fried pickles, man candy, husband had a burger, the potato wedge fries are awesome! Tasty, comfort food with a twist! My hubby and I decided to check this place out for Saturday brunch... and pre-birthday mimosas. Greg A. was our server - Thumbs up! We started out with the man candy - fried pork belly in a pepper/mango marmalade. Very good! My husband got the Enchiladas (don't remember what the name is but it's the last item on the menu). It was stack enchiladas made with corn, instead of flour tortillas, pulled pork; topped with a fried egg. The sauce was heaven! Everything on that plate was so fresh! To be honest, I never order the enchiladas at restaurants because it's usually the same old thing. Rolled tortillas smothered in bland, generic sauce and cheese. But not these! I kept on picking at my hubby'a plate! Lol. I ordered the pecan waffles, topped with pulled pork and a poached egg. The texture of the waffle was insane. The syrup was a great combo or sweet and savory! We finished the meal with mimosas for a birthday toast. Perfect balance of freshly squeeze orange juice and champagne. It tasted the was a mimosa should taste. The owner, John, came by - great conversation, down to earth - we both agreed on the way we liked our enchiladas. This place is a gem right off I-10 in Beaumont. I was driving back to Houston late one night and found a place that was still open to have a good meal. I found J. Wilson's in the search results. The menu caught my eye, so I decided to go. It was a short drive off the exit and easy to get to. When I arrived I knew right away I wanted the Man Candy for an appetizer. The Pork Belly and habanero jelly were an excellent combination and don't be shy to dip the toast in the jelly. You won't be disappointed. I ordered the special that night. This is a very charming place to eat. It took them a little bit to seat us even though it didn't seem busy. Our server was very friendly and appropriately attentive. I ordered man candy (pork belly with habanero jam) and WOW! It was so good. It was like something I would get at a trendy American bistro in a big city. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken, and this may be the first one I've ever ordered were the chicken was not over cooked! Awesome! My boyfriend ordered the ribeye steak and that was so good also. Just left J. Wilson's after brunch and it was delicious!!! I had the waffle with pork and fried egg and my husband had the shrimp and grits. The waffle was made from scratch and the pork was cooked perfectly. My husband said the Shrimp and Grits were by far the best in Beaumont - with large fresh shrimp and caramelized onions.
