Actually had a very pleasent experience in shopping at Ace this morning. As soon as I walked in, an employee asked if I needed help. Usually, I am the one who has to hunt down someone to assist me. What a welcomed change! What I needed was two-cycle engine oil, and they were featured on an end-cap of the aisle. Easy enough! The staff member and I visited for a bit, and he provided some advice on which kind of gas to purchase in order to mix with the oil. The price seemed fair as it was a "name brand" item. Once at the register, the young lady cashier was very friendly and helpful. After today's wonderful experience, I may choose to shop here more often. It's closer than the Home Depot I normally shop at. read more

Never have I ever walked into a hardware store thinking I would find cute items and be there longer than ten minutes. I came here because I had seen the tcu metal shaped pumpkin yard signs in purple and white and people told me to find them here. Unfortunately, the cashier found out for me that they are all out and won't be getting any more this season. I wandered the right side of the store for probably 45 minutes. If you ever need to buy a gift for someone and you don't know what to get, this is the perfect store to go to. You will find something funny, cute, or useful, or even all three! Some items are really steep in price, for example, a small potted fake cactus was $12. It was cute and well done, but I wouldn't buy it at that price. There were some very funny tea towels at $14.99 which is about the market price for a custom towel. There were also hilarious door mats for $19.99. I was lucky to find a metal tcu #1 finger yard sign at 50% off, which ended up being a great deal. ($10 total) They also have a variety of scented candles and bar soaps. Tcu items galore. There are several unique tops that you probably won't find at the bookstore, a football shaped clear stadium purse, and much, much more! If you check in on yelp, you can use a 5% off code on your purchase. The cashier didn't know about it, but when she typed in YELP, it worked. And then, there's free popcorn! Enjoy it while you shop or on your way out. Seriously, I am so pleasantly surprised by Jabo's Ace. This Ace hardware store is the gold standard for neighborhood hardware stores. The place has EVERYTHING you could need for your smaller home projects and a decent amount of things for bigger jobs. That, and if you need a unique gift, they have an eclectic selection of very unique Fort Worth and TCU branded stuff. The staff is top-notch, always super helpful and I've never wandered looking for help - they have plenty of people working at all times. Without exception I start here when I need something for the house - paint, bulbs, wire, screws, tools, hose, glue, tape, even a damn plunger - and only if jabo's doesn't have it, will I go to the big-box home improvement store. Everybody greeted you when you came into the door...everyone was nice talk to! They ask if they can help you on different isles. I had a literally went to 3 Home Depot's 2 Lowe's to got assistance....at 3 of the 5 stores none of it which could help me or answer my questions. I walked in here asked a young man, he tried for quite some time then he called over another person. Steve looked at it did not touch the item that I needed. He walked on by us with out hesitation. Then he grab the part it was done in less than six seconds. I have spent two days trying to find this part a simple nut I thought it was .43 cents I had spent 70 bucks in other parts to rig it from a couple of recommendation at those big box stores And her I got multiple people who care, who want to help... honestly I felt bad for not buying more stuff. So I'm coming back to check out all you have.(your Yeti collection is greatness) I'm coming back to you all drive past both Lowe's and Home Depot for you all. Rasict!!! We went in to purchase Christmas lights as we have done in many Ace stores for the past few years ... they always look our company up name or phone number. "They couldn't find it"..... took 10 minutes tk get a manager or someone to come up.... he didn't greet us or even try to find our info....ge just told us we had to send a minimum of $1000 today to sign up. He also said they were connected with 5 stores and they all have the same policy... I called the Keller Jabo location and asked the manager if this is their contractor requirement has never heard of that....there's no requirement..... so unfair and disgusting to treat someone that way for no reason! read more

I am so disappointed right now. I can't believe this just happened. I'm celebrating 10 years sober soon. I decided to reward myself with a new Blackstone griddle. I chose to get it at this hardware store because they said I'm within 10 miles so they will deliver it and put it together. They ordered it for me last week. It was supposed to be delivered and put together yesterday. I didn't get a call I didn't get a delivery. So I called today and the man who answered the phone said oh well it just wasn't on the truck yesterday and there's none left in any warehouses in North Texas. WOW. Don't expect me to ever ever step foot back in the store again. That is the sorriest customer service I've ever experienced. I had my heart set on this. They told me I would get it and today they're just flippant like it's no big deal that I'm not gonna get it. Horrible horrible customer service. LIES. read more

I have used this shop for years and have recently noticed a growing trend for the staff to display supercilious attitudes, they act like I am interfering with them simply by seeking input about an item, that it is my fault for being so ignorant. We'd lived bear TCU for maybe 2 minutes before someone told us about Jabo's. This place is legendary because it's so much more than an Ace hardware store ;-) They sell nearly everything that a box store sells but WITH friendly, available, knowledgeable staff AND a post office and gift shop inside. You MUST visit Jabo's to believe it! Examples of what we buy from here: paint, tools, air filters, TCU gear, garden/yard needs, nails/fasteners, cute decor signs, birdseed...on and on the list can go. Plenty of parking, and they seasonally change their non-hardware Inventory (...Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas). read more

What a fabulous neighborhood hardware store! I suppose I actually feel a bit spoiled, for the customer care, attention to detail, salesmanship, products, and service simply can't be beat. I have purchased indoor painting supplies, presents for friends and family, a new battery for my car keys, gardening supplies, and more at Jabo's Ace Hardware, and always from a discerning, caring salesperson. Moreover, the store is always cleanly, well-attended, and contains a myriad of useful products. While all the staff that I have personally encountered are superb, Robin S. truly shines as a graceful, knowledgeable, staff member. This store has changed my perspective on what a local hardware store can do for me, and I hope that this review will encourage you to try this little hardware store that really can do it all. Highly skilled customer service. I needed help finding a T-9 screwdriver and one of the team members helped me at first but we couldn't find it so he directed me to another area to look. I love Ace and always try to support local. I even pay a little more as they tend to be pricier than big box. But the proverbial "roach on the table after a nice dinner" was that they tried to charge me 34% more than the online price for an item. When I asked about it, it was a bit of a process where I had to show the online item and a manager had to get involved. In the end, they honored the online price. I still recommend this Ace store, but I also recommend you stay sharp and do your homework. read more

They've got a manager there named Rojelio who in my opinion is adversarial and confrontational. When I tried to talk to someone about it, the checker puffed up as if she were proud of it as well as being no stranger to hearing about it. I swear, for less money, I can drive to Lowes or Home Depot, which is what I'm going to do whenever I can. read more

Jabo's is a valued part of our neighborhood. Yes, some of their prices are higher than Home Depot or Lowe's, but it is hard to beat the service and convenience of a spot that is only blocks away. They also run specials and sales and have many items that are competitively priced. Did I mention they have a large staff to customer ratio, and are always there to help with odd project questions? These are not the type of staff who are going to kiss your keister, they give you the hard, solid advice you need to not kill yourself or your family members. read more

Buyer beware if buy power equipment from Jabo's and you have trouble with it they will not refund youir money. I learn my lesson and will no longer buy my equipment from them . In the future I will buy my equipment from Home depot. **Updated to add that they did refund my $$ after a couple of visits to fix the problem; however, their store policy is no refunds on power tools. read more

Great place! However I am not fond of the fact, they never have popcorn out when I visit. This is mostly during the week, but I believe that they can strive better to provide popcorn to their customers. It would greatly increase interest in going to ace instead of the local home depot. read more

It would have been easy for them to just tell me they couldn't do what I was asking, because I didn't have any actual paperwork to support my position. But Shayne went above and beyond to get the required information, pricing, etc. and help me out.
