We have stopped here a couple of times to let our pup out when we are coming or going. There is a large fenced area where dogs can run around on the grass. I like that there is plenty of seating and there is some shade. There are signs that the park will no longer offer dog bags to put waste in and I think it's nice that people have brought extra bags and tied them to the fence in case someone stops in who doesn't have bags for whatever reason. It's sad that the local government doesn't want to maintain the park, but it's great to see the community step up. The park itself looks like a former waste area with a large drainage pipe in the middle, so it's not a very aesthetically pleasing park, but it gets the job done. There is a restroom in the park connected to the dog area, but it has never been unlocked when we have stopped here and states that the local government will only open it up for special events. If your dog needs to potty or stretch its legs, this is one of the few spots in the area you can stop at and the closest one to the freeway so it gets the job done but it also leaves a lot to be desired. read more

Great dog park if I were traveling down 99 and needed a place for my dog to stretch its legs - it was too much like a rest area. I usually hang out for a couple of hours at Partners dog park (which is temporarily closed starting May 2026 for major construction project) - but my dog and I were ready to leave this park after 45 minutes. Reasons for my poor rating 1. It is very close to the freeway (check on Google Maps) and a 6am on a summer weekend morning all I heard was traffic - no birds. 2. The tunnel featured on websites was blocked off. The tunnel is what made me think, 'this park is cool, I should check it out'. 3. Across the street from residental housing. (My dog is a husky mix and, if another one had shown up, they could have broken into song waking a few neighbors.) 4. Not frequented at 6am on summer weekend by other dog owners (Luckily one guy showed up with 3 dogs that played with my dog, but they only stayed 15 minutes.) 5. Parking was on street. I prefer a parking lot in order not to disturb neighbors. read more

Probably my favorite dog park in Sacramento. It's huge, has incline, and has a cool tunnel for your dog to run through (although i don't recommend dogs going through it during the fall/winter or after it rains - it gets pretty muddy in there). There is a lot of places to sit and a lot of places for your dog to run around! It is right next to the Jacinto park, where you can also walk your dog (on a leash), have a picnic, or take your kids to the playground. The dog park regulars are really nice, I have had no issues with other dog owners. There is plenty of street parking! read more

Was just bitten by a brown & white patched med size short hair dog named Princess who was going after my small dog, and got my hand as I scooped my dog up and away from "Princess". Still in shock. Instead of helping me out, the owner (taller grey haired man who says his name was Ed Deats) said I should have used my foot more than I did to block HIS dog. Owner was not very apologetic. He handed me a business card when I asked for contact info, and ran off before I got plates, tags, and other info. Regulars at the park said they'd never seen that man or his dogs before. I will go get medical attention in case his dog was behind on shots. It's beginning to swell. The witnesses (other owners at the park) were pretty apathetic as well. Not the type of attitude I'm used to at my regular dog park (Morse). It's much more friendly and neighborly there. read more

This was the worse dog park si far in the Sacramento area. Poop everywhere no on cleans up after their dogs.

I'm giving this dog park 3 stars because there's A LOT of people who doesn't pick up after their dogs. There's a couple of dog owners who doesn't know how to control their dogs either and always making an excuses when their dogs create a fight like "he's/she's friendly", "he/she never done this before", "this is the first time he/she has done this", OR "he's/she's good with small dogs, I don't know what's gotten in her/him". My 5month old Akita puppy got attacked by an aggressive leashed Lab that shouldn't have been in the park in the first place because they were training it since it's never been around dogs before. Just moved to the area and checked this dog park out. My pitbull loves that she can stretch her legs out and run to her hearts content. It's very considerate that there are lots of plastic bags for scooping poop esp when I forget my own. It gets pretty muddy so be prepared. For the most part, met a few other dog owners and all pleasant and nice. Their dogs well behaved and getting their socialization on. Just a tip, be mindful of some dog owners though that don't have voice control over their dogs. They tend to start yelling when their dog stops listening and starts misbehaving. Don't come here, especially with your kids, not because the dogs are aggressive, but the aforementioned "regulars" who come here, especially on weekend mornings. The last time my family and I were here, I was humiliatingly harassed and berated for bringing my kid. I stood my ground, and even though these nasty people left, I still ended up calling the police and making a report. It was one of the worst bully experiences I've had, and the extra sting is that my child had to see it all. When I shared the incident on a community FB page, I was even more saddened to find out that others have witnessed and even experienced similar treatment by this same group of regulars, and because of their bullying ways, they feel like they have reign over this PUBLIC place that they feel is "their" park. Read the other reviews that echo the same thing. They may be acting like this because they're losing so much at life, and desperately need to hold on to something, and that's the territoriality they have of this place. But this type of behavior should not be tolerated in any public place, and while I understand that some people have gripes about kids being allowed at the dog park, there are clear rules posted about children being allowed as long as they're supervised and well looked after. I write this because I don't want anyone to have to experience what I did, and I'm sorry that there have been others before me who've been dealt the same treatment. Truth be told though, it's not that great a dog park; at least not enough for me to go back and risk having to deal with these awful people. I'm sure the regulars are glad I wrote this review to deter any new people from coming to "their" park. But if you want to piss them off and see how low they can go, come on weekend mornings. Be prepared to thicken your skin and stand tough. And if you do bring your kid, then try to maintain calmness and take the high road, even if you are shocked by how low they go. And don't be afraid to report an incident if you see one or have one. There is already a report on file and I would not want this issue to be ignored or continuous if there's anything we can do to stop it. read more

Here on a beautiful day. So many dogs and their owners are here. Sammy is very happy and excited to see other dogs. He didn't use to get this kind of interaction. I am happy to be able to bring him out. Everyone here are super friendly. The dogs get along well with their playfulness. Sammy is so full of enrgy. He's chasing down every dogs out here haha. I'm happy there's a pool. Sammy loves to take a dip. This is such a short distance from home that me and Sammy jog here and back easily. read more

We found this little gem a few weeks ago. We love that there's a huge hill in the middle with a tunnel that runs through the length of it. Really wears out our pups! There's a water fountain, plastic doggy pool, table and a few benches (no divider for small/large dogs). We've found that most people have been pretty friendly and watch their dogs. It's big enough that everyone can have their own little corner. It's part of a larger park so you can take your pooch for a walk afterward if you'd like some practice leash walking. read more

There isn't too much shady areas so I tend to I bring my dog here in the early evenings when it's cooler. It's not separated for big/small dogs but we've never had a problem with any squabbles. Except maybe for a few "humpers" LOL. Most of the dogs and people stay in the front of the dog park closest to the entrance but there's picnic benches on the other corners further away which I sometimes like to walk out there to escape some of the chaos. My lil diva can get overwhelmed sometimes with all the butt sniffing. read more

Butters favorite park in the area! Its slightly small but I like the location. Its in a suburban area and I don't have to fear that my car will be broken in. The dog owners here are super friendly and always keep an eye on their dog. If they mis-behave, it gets handled. Butters loves it here. Its all grass, somewhat hilly and a tunnel. The dog here are trained well, even the pitbull. Butters made a friend with one names Boss, the cutest thing ever. I can even go here when the sun is down and still find a one or two people here. read more

Took my Peaches there on an outing. Was one middle aged man sitting on his lawn chair doing paperwork. That's cool. Had 4 dogs with him and they were, for the most part, well behaved. Cool beans. But please, pick up after your four dogs. We watched over and over again, your dogs pooping all over the area and there are plenty of bags provided for you!!!! After they did all their business, you folded your chair and left with the dogs. The park is big with a nice big hill. Nice little watering area. Dogs and owners friendly, but there's always one person who doesn't take care of s--- that 'messes' it up for everyone else. I know land mines are inevitable, but there was just more than other parks I've been to. Peaches won't be back. read more

Let me start by saying most of the people who come here are nice BUT because there is some many "regulars" who bring their dogs here everyday, if your dog is being harassed and their dogs aren't playing right, your dog will be the "bad one" in the situation. This park is great! Has a large space for dogs to run, kiddie pools to cool off, and a neat tunnel. The only reason this park doesn't get a 5 stars is because there isn't a separation for big and small dogs, and I have two smaller dogs and I find its a little intense coming in to a herd of large dogs coming in your personal space. But all in all it's a great place to play. Oh and don't forget your poop bags because the park doesn't provide them! read more

I do think the tunnel is dangerous, one year there were black widows in it with signs everywhere to not let your dog go in it. But nice size and good experience with the dog owners. read more

Came to Jacinto Creek Dog park on our recent excursion to Elk Grove to visit friends over the holiday weekend. I was saddened to see there is no separate dog park for big dogs/little dogs but since we were the only ones there it didn't impact our stay. This is a fairly large sized off leash dog park, well compared to the ones in the bay area that are about the size of your living room. Parking is plentiful on the street and it's conveniently located off the 99. Whether you're passing through or live in the area, it's a great place to get your dog off the leash and roaming free. Seeing how we have friends that live in the area, we'll return here on our next trip out that way. read more

So I really had mixed feelings about this park after reading the reviews. My daughter took our dog here a couple of weeks ago. When she returned home she told me the story of what happened with our dog at this "great" dog park. We have lived here in Elk Grove for several months and thought we would try it out. First off there was a gentleman with 2 dogs, large breed, non aggressive, that allowed them to bully and harass my dog while they were there. When saying something to this man after our dog growled at his after 15 minutes of trying to be humped by his dog's. He seemed to be perturbed by it and my daughter was told, oh it's harmless just let them do it. Uh NO, I would not allow my dog to be continuously harassed by your dogs, And I really do not know why they were so attracted to my neutered male golden retriever mix. That was the first incident. Why would I take my dog to a off leash dog park and NOT control their behavior? Mr. you are something else in my opinion. Second incident was a woman came in with a small dog and of course all dog's are curious of each other. My dog wanted to check him/her out and approached her and the woman screamed because she was afraid of my dog. He is non aggressive, very social and usually loves everyone, Even dog's that are not nice to him! He displayed no aggressive behavior toward you or your dog, he only approached you, but you still freaked out. That is what dog parks are for. Maybe you could possibly request the city to put in two area's one for small and one for large dogs if you are afraid of your dog or yourself being with large dog's. . So my opinion of this place. Is there are a lot of people that use this park and think they are the only ones there (or as one reviewer said...."regulars"). I will not be one of the regulars at this location, due to the fact that you all think you own the place. My dog is better off going elsewhere. read more

Took my roommates dog here. Very good area with friendly dog owners and active dogs. Sammy the husky love it here. It's difficult to get him to come home. They have a shared dog bowl with a water faucet. Plenty grass area for the dogs to run about. There are also many table benches for people to sit. read more

First dog park I've been to. It's spacious, clean, safe, and fun for dogs! The park is grassy and has a cool tunnel in the middle of the park. There were 2 kiddy pools and water hoses plus water fountains for the dogs to cool off with. Benches were also provided along the park. Neighborhood was kind enough to provide plastic bags since the park management does not provide them anymore. I suggest going around early mornings or afternoons on the weekends since it was empty when I went around that time! However, the park is pretty spacious enough so you can have your own corner to yourself if there are other people there. read more

Been going there since this park first opened. Busiest times are right before and after normal working hours. If you want solitude go during the day. Humans donate fun things like doggie pools, poop bags etc. which is really cool. Very nice group of regulars and their humans all of varying heritage, size etc. If you're new to the area it's a great place to make friends. Humans remember to PLEASE remove the leash from from your owners' collar in the 'air lock' prior to entering the park! read more

This is the closest dog park to my house, so I decided to check it out. Upon arriving, I saw a lot of people and mostly large dogs. Everyone I met is friendly! Initially, my dog was a bit scared because every dog came running over to the front gate to sniff him. 5 minutes later, my dog was playing with everyone and frothing at the mouth from running all over the place lol. The only thing I dislike about this place is that the grass is long (relative to other dog parks) and a lot of mud (I wouldn't let my dog run through the tunnel). Overall, this place is nice and I will be coming back in the future! read more

This is a great park, by far the best sized park around. Lots of helpful people (regulars there). My only complaint is when people bring their intact males to the park. Even fun-loving, sweet intact males seem to have issues at dog parks. They either 1) hump the females (even those not in heat) or 2) try to fight the males (even the other males that are neutered). Get your dog fixed and then bring him/her to the park. If your dog is male, intact, please realize his behavior is going to be very different than his normal behavior because those pesky hormones. Other than the intact males, I really enjoy the overall park and oh yeah, so does my dog. read more

Super spacious and great for dogs. All of the dogs there when I went are super nice and so are the owners. They have a tube also but I don't know what the purpose of that is for lol during the summer they have kiddie pools for the dog to play in. There isn't that much trees for shade but most of the time ppl come in the late afternoon so the sun isn't that hot. read more

If you have a small dog maybe not the best place to bring them. Their are a sub group that bring Large breed dogs who seem to be untested socially and are aggressive towards other dogs. Some don't watch their dogs and allow them to roam unsupervised while thy sit and chat on benches and lawn chairs. Their is no part portioned off for smaller dogs although this could have easily been accomplished by the City planning commission. You could always take them to Morse park but in reality the same principle applies, people who have aggressive, inappropriate behaving animals take their animals to dog parks and never think their dog is the problem. read more

Love this dog park! Something for little doggies and large doggies too! Clean friendly fun. We went to thus park for our dogs to wear 'em out then having fun. Then we walked over to the kid park in the same grassy area and let our kids run around while laying near by on a blanket with the relaxed tired little dogs. Love this entire park place. :) read more
