November 23, 2025 - Sacramento. This was our first visit to this dog park, and we were pleasantly surprised. We came on a Sunday and there were quite a few people, many relaxing in their own chairs while their small dogs played. All the pups were friendly, and there was plenty of grassy space for them to run around. The large dog area also looked very nice--clean, spacious, and completely empty by the time we left. Great place to meet up with other pups and owners. Clean and friendly. Only issue is now that the weather has changed the city has not changed the sprinkler timers. It is still watering as much as in the high temp months. Not only is this a huge waste of water but it turns the park into a mud hole that is really troublesome and unnecessary Otherwise it's a great place to take the fur babies. read more

my dog Lexi and her brother Champ have been going here since they were puppies. I've seen a handful of dog fights but never with blood. Both my dogs (especially my Mail Lexi) have gotten been through a board + train program. July 9th 2023, Lexi was MINDING HER BUSINESS looking at a squirrel when a German Shepard came up and brutally BIT HER. The lady ran away extremely fast that my husband wasn't able to catch her. We are stuck in debt now due to this. This is an awesome dog park if you're looking for space for your fur baby to run around and have fun! I was shocked at how big the "large dogs" side was, it's sooooo spacious! The bread is well taken care of, they supply doggy-poop- bags, there's also a a water fountain to keep our fur babies hydrated. There are benches throughout the park. Also, I love how shaded this dog park is! We all know how hot it gets in Sac, so the shade really helps not only the puuups but it also helps us, dog parents ;) I would highly recommend this park to all future fur friends, hope to see ya there! read more

Before my wife & I met, we were/are avid dog owners & frequented several parks around the greater Sacramento area before making this our 'Home Dog Park' CONS: No matter how many years we've been coming here, dog owners' in the small fenced area are simply NOT that friendly and downright "clique"y. Plus, there's barely ANY seating in the small area so either stand or bring your own chair. NOT much shade overall. They have put in more trees, but it's a process of time and dogs peeing on the seedlings. There's also not a lot of seating in the big/small fenced areas. I'd like to see a pool for the dogs where they can play, soak, etc. have seen this at other parks and it seems so simple to have. Or perhaps a play fountain as well. There ARE some major holes around the landscape that can be scary for anyone' that's ever twisted an ankle. Be aware. Finally, I'd like to see some makeshift hills or toy platforms to jump on. This really is a great park, but it's kind of flat in terrain with not much more than a walk/run space. PROS: These could go on all day. The Bradshaw Animal Control is located in the same lot. Many owners have actually adopted from this location which makes it extra special. Parking can sometimes be full, but there's plenty of it. ALWAYS someone here. Any hour of the day, there's usually someone visiting with their pooch. Very fun and active for our furs. People have mentioned attacks, aggression, and irresponsible pet owners. ** I want to address this by saying that in the nearly 3 years we have been coming here, I've witnessed a great amount of pet owners that not only socialize, but look out for each other & really speak up IF a dog is out of control. We care about each other's pets and have your back. I have actually been attacked by a dog at the Power Inn park (per example) and the owner was looking right @ me with my bloody hand as she begrudgingly exchanged info and had to have her dog quarantined. I've never once been bit here at Bradshaw. There's also a Facebook group to keep in touch and get to know your fellow fur baby families: "Friends of Bradshaw Dog Park" I can't emphasize enough that this is one of the top dog parks locally! If you simply take the time to talk with even just one person there, and keep your dog within boundaries of social behavior, POOP clean up, and proper etiquette..... it will be a pleasant experience & possibly make a few new friends! read more

I've been to this dog park a few times at different times and my pup had a great time running around. She's very active and the park is very spacious, both the small and large dog sections. It's kept pretty well. There's grass and some gravel dirt spaces on the sides. The reason I decided to give it 2 stars, is that I agree with some of the previous reviewers, there's a group of owners that are not friendly and there are little "cliques". They make it a point to make you feel uncomfortable and tell you to leave. If you have an active dog and are not part of the clique just stay away. Usually the hours they come are 8am and around 5pm. They should just put up a sign that this park is for handicaps. The people stand around and talk shit and the dogs are lethargic and lay around like mops. I was told I was going to get sued and my dog would be put down and that I should just put my dog on a leash and leave. SMH It's a shame because it is a nice park itself. But I'll pass on coming here again. read more

This is by far my favorite dog park to take my fur baby to! She's always super excited to come here!It's definitely her happy place. There is an area for small dogs, and big dogs, which is divided by a gate/fence, sometimes the big/small dogs like to chase each other through the fence...xD The park is pretty clean, 90% of the people actually pick up their dog's shit....& thank you to those who pick up after other dogs as well. I love that both areas are filled with grass, so on days that it doesn't rain your pup doesn't get tooo dirty. Both dog owners and dogs are well behaved, but there's always gonna be a few that you have to watch out for. If you keep an eye on your fur baby you should be okay! Tip; teach your fur baby to come to you when you call them! Another cool thing is that there's an adoption center right next to it. I'm pretty sure they do vaccines and spay/neuter as well. But ya, come on by there's plenty of parking right next to the park all the time. I'm sure you'll have a great time with your fur baby! read more

I do not recommend this park if you do not like your dog fighting with other dogs. My dog got into a fight with another dog. I pulled him away because I didn't want him fighting. Other owners disagreed and said the dogs need to work it out. Since then I have felt unwelcomed. Yesterday, I overheard them talking about me like I am mean to my dog. I get that sometimes that's how dogs work things out but my dog wanted to hurt the other dog. I am not going to stand by and let him. read more

The park is great and the dogs is great. Small dog love to pick a fight with large dog tho. They have seperate park for large and small dogs. But do you know what makes this park 2 star? The owners! They are nice, but lazy and disgusting people. They wont pick up their dog's poop. There's literally dog poop everywhere. I saw multiple dogs pooping and their owners just watched and went on. First dog park I've ever been to and I was pretty nervous for my small 8 pound dog. The place is fairly muddy in areas but it's not the biggest deal in my opinion. There was a separate area for big and small dogs but there weren't any small dogs in the area. After staying in the small dog area for a little bit, we went to the big dog area to see how it would go. The dogs and dog owners were all really great! Very friendly and sweet! Some dogs would come up to me and let me pet them. The owners were constantly monitoring their dogs and the dogs would always come when called. Really glad I came and will come again in the future :-) hopefully more small dogs will be there in the small dog area next time read more

I come here daily, sometimes twice a day. My pup loves it. He even made a bunch of doggy friends. Most of the people are really nice and pay very close attention to their dogs. The only reason I didn't give it more stars is because some of the people bring their agressive or unaltered dogs, or don't know how to control their dogs. My dog's been attacked 3-4 times now. We love this park. It has a large fenced area for big dogs and another one for small dogs. There are 2 benches and a water fountain. It's clean and has grass, much better than the gravel dog parks we've been to. It's a large area where dogs have plenty of space. Prime time seems to be after 6pm. Lots of cute dogs to play with. If you like lots of MUD, you'll love this place. You and your dog will be covered with MUD within 5 minutes. It's August 2 and it takes a real genius to turn the sprinklers on at night. As I write this, I'll bet the guy in charge of watering is complaining about his pay. In addition to giant MUD holes, the water fountains for the dogs don't work. There is no hose or kiddy pool when it's 100+. I forgot, your dog can cool off in the MUD holes. This is your tax dollars at work. read more

Seriously?! Only 3.5 stars ?! This is the best dog park in the Sacramento area ! I've been to nearly all the bigger dog parks in the Sacramento vicinity. And this one is consistently well maintained and popular with dog owners and dogs alike . My pup always looks forward to visiting here . There are a few places I know of where I can let my dog run around free and play ball or access points along the American river where he can again run free and swim .. But the dog park is where he can run around with other dogs and SOCIALIZE ! What's the point of coming to a dog park if there aren't any other dogs to play with !? The best time to visit is usually in the mornings between 8-10 am and evenings around 6-730 .... Always tons of dogs running around. I've rarely seen any issues with dogs being aggressive .. Most of them get along so well , it's so fun to watch dogs play with each other . There are a lot of regulars here , the people here are pretty friendly and obviously love dogs . Compared to any other dog parks In the area .. This one has the most green space !! Other dog parks are mostly dirt or sawdust stuff or something brown idk . Five woofs to the bark park !! read more

Nice dog park. One side for small dogs and one side for big dogs. There are water fountains on both sides for people and the dogs. I like this dog park best because there is grass (they mow once a week...on Wednesdays I think), shade trees and benches. Also, there is a Coke machine out front which is nice on a hot day. The only thing I would like to see is a bathroom. I feel like I have to time my water intake while I'm out there. Good thing I live close by. read more

I've been bringing the little Rudy Dog to the little dog section of the Bark Park for a few weeks. He seems to think he isn't a dog, so getting him to actually play with all the other dogs took a little bit of time, but he is coming along fine now and we've made the Bark Park a daily end of day routine. I have to say that the part of the park designed for larger dogs is kept up much better than the small dog park. The grass is greener, there arent as many holes and there are benches and more seating available. The small dog park always smells like a hot turd, which is interesting because every time I take Rudy there, there is an ugly scruffy white dog that goes around eating all the freshly dropped dookie. **Note...beware of said scruffy white dog, his mouth has been places...terrible places.** Overall, its a good spot to get your dog socialized which minimal anal raping. I really like how large this park is, and how clean it is. There is no poop anywhere and they provide places where you can throw it away. Also, I really like how people can throw a ball super far and their dogs still have more room to run. The only negative is that there is not a lot of seating in the shade, so it gets pretty uncomfortable in the summer. But they do provide dog water fountains and some randomly placed dog bowls that you can fill up. The other down side is that when it is hot out there are rarely any dogs here... Which isn't something I can rate on, but I still thought I would mention it for those looking for how many dogs to expect. read more

One of the better dog parks in Sac. Pros: very large, grass is well kept, water fountain, benches, dedicated parking lot. Cons: not much shade, no hose to cool off. I love this Dog Park. Everywhere I go I tell other people about this Dog Park. Everyone is very friendly, we know each other and our dogs names. And everyone is greeted with excitement. Without a doubt whenever I come to this Dog Park, my dog is pooped for the rest of the day which is awesome! Every time I come to the Dog Park I'll say around 730 there is at least 20 dogs and that is the minimum! There are so many different breeds and sizes it's like dog heaven. And everyone is really good at picking up behind their dogs and there are no left behind poops. I definitely recommend. read more

Clean, lots of grass, water, and benches all add up to a great dog park. My favorite part about this park is the fact that they have a small dog section that usually has dogs there whenever I go. I used to go to granite dog park on Power inn Rd, and half the time I'd go, there would be no dogs (in the small dog section). The other times, there would only be 1-3 dogs, 4 or 5 at the most. Love this dog park! My pup Jaxx very much enjoys it as well. It is fairly spacious with two sides separating big and small dogs. There is a lot of room on both sides for dogs to run around. There are water fountains and benches. There is no poop bag dispenser (I've ran out of bags 1st visit here) But people are also kind enough to tie extra poop bags to the fence so it wasn't an issue. People pick up after their pups here which is always nice. Overall great place! One of Jaxx's favorite parks. Missing 1 star due to not having a poop bag dispenser. read more

This dog park was great! There were two separate sides, one for large dogs and one for small, which I LOVE! There was a lot of nice green grass and shady trees. Even a bench under a shade tree. This is honestly the bast dog park I have been to in Sacramento. Other than the size of the park, the bast thing about it is that small dogs are separated from the large dogs. This is great if you have a large dog. I have a pit pull and every time I go to other parks he gets attacked but "little-big" dogs and it's very annoying. He might not fight back those dogs but I sure want to... The park may not have much shade which is a downside of the park but the dogs don't seem to mind and that's really what it is all about, right? Just bring a hat or something to shade yourself... Another huge plus is that there is ALWAYS other dogs here. Nothing worse than bringing your dog out just to find out he has no other friends to play with. I always drive out of my way to come to this dog park because it's the best. This park is clean, large, and always has friendly dogs playing. read more

This was not one of the best dog parks I've taken my pup to. Thought I'd give it a shot since the Bradshaw shelter has done amazing things with their own facility. The space itself is not bad. We went in the evening and it was poorly lit, making it difficult to keep track of my dog. Other than that, it's pretty large and leaves a lot of space for the dogs to run around. We used the large dog side, which is substantially bigger than the small dog side. For good reason! The reason I am not willing to go any higher with stars is because of the owners. There were a group of people sitting towards the back at one of the picnic tables and not interacting with or checking on their dogs at ALL. One was very aggressive and was beginning to aim his aggression towards my dog. This dog was possessive over everything in the park and, at one point, wouldn't even allow my own dog to come near me! Yet, there they sat. Not worried about the snarling and foamy mouth mutt. I wouldn't be surprised if it had rabies. (And the moment that thought crossed my mind was the moment we left). If these are the "regulars" that frequent this dog park, we will not be back. We have yet to find a dog park in Sacramento that we will go to more than once. read more

I have frequented this park a few times now and never had or seen any issues with other dogs or owners. It might be the time of day, or the days that I've been because I generally only stop by on evenings or on the weekends. I love that this park is HUGE for the large dogs and grassy, although that also means that some owners seem to miss their dog's turds. However, the bag dispensers are always full, and there always seems to be a decent amount of dogs to play with. Owners also seem conscientious, but not overly protective. read more

This dog park is spacious and has people and doggy drinking areas, which is great. However, I took my dog here today and he came home with a tick! Ew ew. My dog is hairless so the tick was super obvious and easily removed. Be cautious about bringing your dog. read more

I have been here before and would have given it 5 stars. But today I encountered that rude group of "regulars" in these other reviews. As soon as I brought my dog out of the car the small dogs are at the fence barking at her. My dog is small but I decided the big dog side might be better, but as I am on the sidewalk contemplating this decision, this lady comes over and starts yelling at me that my dog needs to be in the big dog side. I asked her why she was yelling at me and she said "because you're not listening to me!"... I was on the sidewalk and had walked past the entrance for the small dog park at this time. I literally did not even make it into the park before being berated by this woman. I wasn't even going to go into the small dog side, even though she is a small dog. This lady was so rude I just picked my dog up (because she is little) and left. I hate to take stars away from the park because of someone who doesn't even work there.... but I probably haven't been that mad in years. read more

"Okay" off leash dog park located directly in front of the Sacramento County Animal Shelter. Pros- permanent benches and picnic table, extremely large space. Cons- little to no shade, so it gets really hot, really fast, and a pretty busy/crowded parking lot because of the animal shelter. read more
