After having nearly a dozen big-name siding contractors to our house to give us a quote on vinyl…read moresiding (I won't name them because this review isn't about them, but if you've seen them at a trade show or recognize their name in Rhode Island, I guarantee you we had them over for a quote) meeting Andrew was exactly the fresh sales experience we needed. Easy going, engaging, knowledgeable (but not pushy), helpful, and with a true passion for his product we couldn't believe we finally had a contractor that listened to us. Middle class product for a middle class house on a middle class budget. Don't get me wrong, he has high product material to sell and his team as the craftsmanship to install it. We just aren't that customer. After 10+ quotes telling us it was going to be 55k, 62k, 70k and MORE to put vinyl on our 1900 square foot raised ranch (and some contractors refused to even quote vinyl, insisting we put on Hardy board...), Andrew listened to what we actually needed, matched us to the product we wanted, and came in at a price we couldn't resist. We didn't even let him leave our house that day until we signed a contract. We've never regretted that decision since. It turns out the passion for his product and the care his team took to make sure the install was correct wasn't just a show. 99% of the install went perfectly. The handful of extremely minor hiccups here and there I spotted were fixed immediately, without the usual hewing and hawing I get from other contractors we've had do work on the house. Problem, identified, problem fixed, work continued. Andrew was incredibly responsive and patient with us as customers as well. Worked with us to get the colors we wanted (a lot of it custom ordered) and worked with his supplier to cut us a deal when we suddenly changed our minds about color and re-ordered some things. He patiently waited as we took WAYYYY more time than we should picking a gutter color. He even arranged for a door installer to come help us out when our custom ordered doors didn't arrive in time for this project. No problems from Andrew. He called a buddy, arranged for a later install, and is sending his crew back out to the house to trim and finish the new doors even though they've been done on the house now for weeks. Just an incredible customer service experience. My only complaint with the whole thing is that Andrew isn't a general contractor who I can have back to do other projects. If I could get an electrician, plumber, carpenter and painter to give me his level of craftsmanship and professional knowledge at the prices he charges I'd spend every weekend sitting on my ass and hiring him for EVERYTHING. 10/10. Would hire again. Would recommend to a friend.

During the process we mentioned many times with phone calls, and text the inconsistency of the job their crew was doing. The "project manager" would show up for 5 minutes and leave. In my opinion he has no hands on siding experience at all. We asked for meetings to go over what was going wrong with this job, and we were always stood up, no communication. The crew would work after 5pm in the dark to get the job done. I don't think they knew any of their crew that was subbed out. They came in a van from MA. we were left with a disaster siding job, as other contractors put it totally incompetent. Here are some of the problems we were left with. They did come back to try and fix a few things, but what they fixed was still not fixed such as some siding above the front window that now has a buckle in it. 11 torn screens, a broken boat trailer light, gutters dented and put back on incorrectly. We now have to replace them due to the damage removing them., A back door they put on that does not close, our new deck was chipped, and scratched, also they put screwed blocks into the deck to hold their ladders, AC unit covers incorrectly attached, broken and cracked they need to be replaced, they took it upon themselves to change the architect arch on our garage to a square opening and did not ask, electrical wires screwed onto the roof, caulking to glue together siding on the shed, shed door attached with a big space at the top, finish work on the shed is a disaster. This is a lot, but I can back it up with pictures. The owner came over after the job was done, and all our complaints, and said it looked good. I don't believe he has any experience himself with siding. We went to the town hall to check if they pulled a building permit, and they did not. They told us they did. We are left with a disaster, and expense of paying for another company to fix it. Please do yourself a favor and find another company, they don't know what they're doing.

We had the house sided by SEC, a major project. All the old siding and gutters removed; then new…read moreinsulation, siding, gutters, two new windows, a new back door, and a new front door w/sidelight units installed. Where there was some rotted wood found underneath the old siding, it was replaced. Steve is absolutely meticulous, to the point of OCD. The job was be done perfectly, starting with a laser to mark level around the house, to special-ordering long siding panels to eliminate all the seams mere 12' panels leave. The complex work around the two walk-out bays and the power/meter took days, but everything was carefully measured and fitted . Steve also had some very creative suggestions, particularly trim above the front door and windows. This work, when done properly, takes both time and skill. Steve and Rick are neither the fastest nor the cheapest. If you want a slap-dash job by swarm of aliens, with one English-speaking supervisor, perhaps for a "flip," go with some big remodeler. It will be done quickly. However, f you want your house remodeled by a craftsman, who will pay close attention to all the details and work until he satisfies both you and himself, hire SEC.
