This place stinks. We had a noon tee time on a Sunday in June and these dopes let three fivesomes go out in front of us. We called and complained because every tee box was a 15 minute wait but they wouldn't split them up. Course is run by unprofessional and rude management. We planned a golf weekend 2 months in advance, which is necessary when getting 12+ guys together, some of whom drove in from out of state. None of us live within 90 minutes of the course, so we needed to book a house and we booked tee times at two courses. We do this every year, at least once. Several of us bought a GroupGolfer promotional coupon that was good for a round of golf at JFN, and we planned our weekend around that. We did the same for another Poconos course for Friday, and we had no problem using the vouchers there, or at any other course in the past 10 years, probably literally 50 times. JFN management informed us on the day of our visit, that they would not accept the $49 vouchers that we paid for, and we'd need to spend another $95 to play our round. The reason they gave us was that we made our tee times "too far in advance", which is ridiculous. What business wouldn't want to guarantee their sales as far in advance as possible? That's the point of the promotional coupons and the reason they'd participate in such a promotion to begin with. A course in a vacation area should understand that waiting to book until a week before a Saturday morning tee time is completely unrealistic. People need to plan farther in advance when scheduling a golf weekend. We spent over $1500 at their business today, and we will never go back read more

Jack Frost in warm weather? Yes, if you're in the area and it's definitely open. Skiing, a definitive no. Golfing, yes, very pretty warm weather feature here. I was here skiing a few years back so I'm not making any comment about that, but I will say the view is gorgeous, many people golfing and we grabbed a few drinks at the snack bar over leisure conversation. This course is awesome !! No other way to put it. The holes are cut right out of the mountain. You won't be playing down another holes fairway out here. You're either in the fairway, the rough, or the woods. The course is in great shape. One of my favorite courses ever and this was the first time I played it. There is a nice outdoor eating pavillion, and the pro shop is small but serviceable. You won't go for the pro shop though, you'll go for the great course. The guys working there were very friendly, which made it that much better. I can't say enough about how much I liked this course. read more

There are comparable golf courses in the area with better amenities (e.g., clubhouse) that are easily half the price. When you are learning how to ski this mountain is amazing. It helps build confidence the runs seem challenging but doable. However once you reach a certain ski level this mountain becomes too easy too quickly and although it has a place in your heart for getting you to the next level it an average at best mountain. They do the best with what they got and it's great for beginner to intermediates but advance people will get bored quickly. Although trace snow people might be able to get awesome max speeds binning down some runs. read more

I feel that Jack Frost National lives up to its name. There's a nice grass practice range, the tee boxes are always perfect and the fairways very good. Staff are nice and the rangers are diligent about keeping up the pace of play. Don't be surprised to see a ranger stop near you and note your pace of play on his clip board. The layout is fun and there are more blind shots and uneven lies than their Web site leads you to believe. To position yourself properly, you must know the course. Keep it in the fairway or you may very easily lose your ball in the dense PA woods. As most people who have played this course will probably tell you, the greens are tough and a lot of shots can be given up on them. They roll true, but are very fast, undulating and with tough, almost unfair pin placements. 3 putts are a common sight on this course. One last note - be careful with Google maps. Their address is listed as Clubhouse Dr, in Blakeslee, PA when you search via Google, but that will take you to a swim club 15 miles away! read more

Jack Frost National is a true gem. The fairways are wide but anything outside of the cart path should be considered lost. (Speed up play). There are more than a handful of memorable holes. My favorite stretch is 10-14. Enjoy and please keep up the pace. read more

What a TERRIBLE experience. DO NOT PLAY HERE! I took my father golfing for his birthday today. We arrived and were informed that we would be teamed up with two other guys which was fine with us. After the first couple of holes, the two gentlemen who joined us were struggling a bit, but still maintained a decent pace of play. The nice thing was we dint have a group behind us. On the fourth hole, the ranger drove by and said we needed to pick up the pace even though we didn't have anyone behind us. As requested we picked up the pace, played ready golf, etc. Nobody behind us the entire time! At the turn, we decided to stop for a hot dog which took about 15 minutes. We proceeded to the back nine. We were on the green and the ranger approached us, still nobody behind us. He was incredibly rude, raised his voice stating that we were holding up the entire course and were 15 minutes behind schedule. We explained that it took fifteen minutes to get a hot dog and there wasn't anyone behind us. He continued to reprimand us saying that we were inconveniencing everyone else on the course, negatively impacting the flow. We then proceeded to the 11th hole and he had some guy, maybe in his early twenties come over and he started on us, saying that he already told us to pick up the pace of play. He also had a very abrasive tone. At this point, we were fed up with them and tired of being treated like garbage. We told them in so many words to let us alone and enjoy our round. He then told me "your done" and was calling the GM. The GM and head golf pro then came out to us on the 12th hole saying that there employees would never act in this manner, essentially telling us that we were making this all up. Long story short, the rangers clearly lacked intelligence, and have no idea how to treat their customers. If you want to be scolded and interrupted all day by a bunch of rangers with nothing better to do but heckle their customers, than this is the place for you. They ruined me and my fathers round of golf on this birthday. The course is in great shape but the rangers are a joke, and management clearly doesn't have a grip on how they treat their customers. I recommend Blue Ridge trail. Better course, great people, great management, better priced. This is the first time I wrote a review on a golf course because I don't want anyone else to be treated this poorly on a golf course. Again, Stay AWAY! DO NOT PLAY HERE!!!! read more

This is the best public access golf course in the Poconos. I have been playing here for the past few years when we take our family vacation in Pocono Pines. The course is beautiful and the conditions will rival the nicest private courses. One of the best features of this course is that each hole is different and is secluded from any other hole on the golf course. The staff is very friendly and the cost is very affordable. By the way, we also played Great Bear two days later and the condition of the course, the layout, the friendliness of the staff and the price were inferior to Jack Frost National. read more

This review is in regards to Jack Frost golf course. We have an annual outting in the Poconos every year, and this year one of the courses we played was here, and it will be the last. The members who work here are extremely disrespectful and are all over you from hole to hole. Within the first 9 holes we had a ranger pass / watch our group 5 times until he asked to go through our cooler. Filled with ice and waters I'm sure he felt pretty dumb after realizing this but to pay 70$+ for a round i'll fill my cooler with whatever i please. They are obviously very hard on money since no one was playing here, and course was the worst condition of the 3 day outting. Purely based off the hawking of the rangers none of us would come back never the less suggest to anyone to play here. Take your business elsewhere, perhaps Mount Laurel! read more

I have played many courses in the Poconos from the 9 hole Indian Mountain to Mt Airy Lodge but Jack Frost is my favorite. Before a round, I like to take advantage of their comprehensive practice facility- separate driving ranges for woods and irons, sand trap practice, wedge practice and an excellent putting green. The course itself is challenging for a duffer like me but I loved every miss hit, slice and three putt on this course. Fantastic deals for seniors like me! From my house, I have to pass Mt. Laurel golf course and Split Rock to get to Jack Frost but it is definitely worth it. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable,accomodating and very helpful. No reason for me to go ANYWHERE else! read more

The course was in great shape and the greens were phenomenal. If you're a beginner, I would stay away for now. Its definitely more for an intermediate to expert player. There were rangers checking on pace of play but did it in a positive way. Easy access from the PA turnpike. read more

Great track, played it 8/10/16. This course was kept better than most private clubs. Great elevation changes, bunkers, and undulating greens. Pins marked red/white/blue from front to back. Plenty of yardage markers and even with elevation and dog legs, it was pretty easy to predict where to place your tee shots...tough but fair. Four tees from 5700-7250yds. Carts had no GPS, but came with coolers, ball washer, and club cleaner. read more

Best slope I've ever been to for beginners. I'm not a beginner. There is no night skiing at this location because there are no lights. The parking lot is at the top of the hill which is a unique setup in my opinion. The lifts are slower than average for the east coast which is great for beginners, but with 600 ft vertical drop the slops are shorter too. Most time spent waiting for the lift and on the lift. I noticed it is difficult to move to a different lift from the top of the hill. Most green and blue slopes do not have cross overs to get to another slope. I went the Saturday of President's Day 2017 and they have free bag check inside to the right. You get a keychain with your locker number and the friendliest employee checks your stuff like a coat check situation. I was able to get stuff and put other things away throughout the day. This was amazing because I could pack a lunch, eat, and get back to skiing fairly quickly. Also, this made the long walk from the car not so bad because I wore my sneaks most of the way and changed into my ski boots at the last minute. Overall I like Jack frost, I may try for a reduced price ticket next year when they have specials because it's so close to the turnpike! read more

This is a beautiful and well-maintained golf course that meanders over the Pocono Mountains. It is quite challenging but playable for the average golfer. The front tees are also reasonably placed for women folders and the tee boxes give a wide range of skill levels a lot of fun. The staff are very friendly. This is a must play course! read more

A money hungry golf course that's NOT WORTH PLAYING! Played on Sunday, June 2, 2019 after a bit of rain the night before. Conditions at course were appalling!! And the management still charged full price of $79 without any hint of discount or notification of horrible course conditions. The tee boxes were not maintained or moved around as there was barely grass to hit off. The standing water indicates they have terrible or no drainage system (including bunkers). The fairways were so wet it was almost impossible to hit a shot without taking a huge divot so you almost had to skull the ball. The rough could not have been cut in weeks - the grass was seeding at the tops it was so bad. The rough also was soaked and had standing water in a majority of places. Wouldn't be surprised if this course turns black in those areas of standing water when the sun cooks it. Given all this the greens were not receptive at all. When you hit a green it did not hold and the ball bounced through to the rough unless you tried to play it short where it would plug in the soaked approach apron. The greens are ridiculed with ball marks and do not roll very well which also screamed about a lack of course maintenance. Probably the worst part of the course are their sand traps. They are destroyed. There is no sand to speak of in them and the faces of the traps are all cracked and exposing the dirt beneath. Was in one that simply had mud in the center. The staff is not very friendly and the costs are marked up incredibly above other courses in the area. Worst of all the staff makes no excuses for it and quite frankly doesn't really care about the customer. The rangers and staff are more concerned about what is in your coolers than how the golf course is maintained. Didn't see a maintenance person working the whole day either cutting grass, working on traps, fixing greens, etc. This was the final round of a 3 round weekend and Jack Frost was without a doubt the worst golf course we played both in conditions of the course, cost, and courtesy of staff. I live in Allentown, PA which is close enough to play any time I want but I will not be going back. I'D SUGGEST YOU DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE. We also played Mt. Airy Resort and Skytop which were both in great condition and cost less. With Split Rock Resort right across the street offering 27 holes instead of 18 at a cheaper rate I don't know why anyone would choose this course. Unfortunately we made the wrong choice by playing Jack Frost. If looking for a suggestion of courses I'd choose Mt Airy Resort. read more

The skiing is great here, I can't take that away. Great lifts, great hills, the snow was mediocre. But the food is an experience I will never forgive them for. We couldn't find any tables outside by the cafeteria, so we decided to place a reservation at the Frosty Toboggan, the grill there. Worst decision ever. The wait was 25 minutes for a seat which wasn't so bad especially in the very tight area. We were a little disappointed in the food options; there were burgers and little else. But at least we had a place to sit. We placed our orders and waited for more than an hour. When the food finally came out after what felt like years of waiting, the orders were mixed up and the food was room temperature. My burger was fine, but it probably tasted so good because I had been waiting for so long. My sister ordered guacamole on hers and instead they but a barely mashed avocado. Our family friends found their burgers to be very hard because they didn't ask us how we wanted our burgers cooked. The chips (yes chips came with the burgers not fries) were soggy. Prices were a little high but not awful. Overall I would recommend just bringing your own food or even better eating before you come skiing. read more
