They also offer snacks such as crisps, nuts and chocolate bars. The man who owns it is friendly enough and always has a bit of a joke with the customers. The outside could do with a tidy up and paint job as could the inside. It suffers from being next to the GT News and across from the beeroff Cheers. However, it's been there for years and shows no signs of closing down!

And I'd agree that this is the better of the Asda's in the area, but if you've been to the other one then that isn't saying much. It is a blast from the 80's with municipal swimming pool style exterior, original tiled flooring and my favourite - artexed interior walls. The car park is perfectly adequate if you're driving a Smart car and don't mind it getting kicked in by the chav kids hanging around outside, fully engaged in the business of kicking things in. I'd disagree with the previous review about the range of non-food stuff on offer - a small section of George clothing and a couple of aisles of general household tat, toys, electronics, stationery etc which I found a little disappointing. But apart from all these little foibles, it is a good place to buy groceries. I think it's because everything is more compact, so you don't have to walk so many miles to get from the potatoes to the ice cream, or maybe it's because you don't spend the first hour filling the trolley with the non-food stuff then rush around grabbing anything that you can shove in the fridge, but I came away with loads more food that I normally would. Had to wait a bit at the till despite the shop being half empty, then my receipt wouldn't print which was a pain in the rump as I always check Asda receipts as they've invariably overcharged you for something. The bill was £175, so I'm guessing there were a few overprices there that I couldn't find. But on the whole, it's a good place to go for groceries. Not if you're wanting to spend a couple of hours looking at pretty things, but if you just want a trolley full of grub and don't give a toss about the decor, it's spot on.

This is quite a small and dated version of some of the newer morrisons however the service recieved and great offers is just the same as any other branch. The carpark is large and well set out, with ample trollies, situated around the carpark. The store itself is well laid out, with the traditional market street going round the age, including the fishmongers, deli, greengrocers, baker and butchery. The aislies themselves are well laid out and availability is quite high thoughout the day and there is always staff replenshing the shelfs and tidying the aisles. The thing i like best is the butchers, as other supermarkets dont have this, normally the meat is just prepacked, but here you can actually talk to a real butcher and get the exact cut of meat you want at the price you want. They constantly have lots of great offers such as BOGOFs and better then half price. The only criticism is the checkouts are not usually well staffed meaning the queues can get long. However the staff are freindly andvery helpful

It is a fairly big Co Op and sells a wide variety of groceries together with wine and beer. The wine in particular is much cheaper than the off-licence across the road. There is also now a cash machine outside that doesn't charge you a fee to use it. There is a choice of baskets or trolleys for shopping which are always tidily cleared away. It has the advantage of being right by several bus stops so you don't need to walk far with shopping. One disadvantage is that it does not have a car park and parking spaces nearby are few and far between.
