From the moment Tony (Jack Jack) showed up, he put us at ease with his willingness to take on a wide variety of projects, all with up front quotes, and honest suggestions about how to proceed within our budget. Tony arrived with a co-worker, Colton, who was just as friendly and knowledgable. Between the two of them, we really got the feeling that they could take on any job from plumbing and bathroom remodeling to flooring and landscaping. We ended up getting help with our back yard (weeds, mowing, edging, pruning, general clean up), and having a good amount of flooring and some trim pieces installed. Throughout the whole process Tony and Colton were great communicators - funny, friendly guys that told us along the way what they were working on and what they had left to finish. They worked at our house for three days and did excellent work. They seemed to really care about a job well done and took pride in exceeding expectations. We'll definitely be calling again for the next job we have. They were honest, reliable, and did great work. Can't ask for more than that! read more

Tony started the project, and it was looking great, but then he disappeared. His "assistants" completed the job, a week later, and I was shocked by the poor quality of work; some of the work was not even completed. I called Tony, and he assured me that he would personally resolve the issue; well, it's been over a year, and he has yet to return any of my numerous calls. I'm beginning to worry, and I have considered filing a missing person report ;-). Tony does great work, as evidenced by the positive reviews; however, he seems to be overwhelmed with projects, and he has hired people that seemingly aren't concerned with doing quality work. Tony seems like a nice guy, and I always try to support small businesses, but, my experience with him has been frustrating, and a waste of time and money :(. read more

I needed to have two shower doors installed for two restrooms and had contacted them with the links for the two products that needs to be installed. I got a quote, confirmed the quote was for two shower doors and then scheduled an appointment with them. On the day of the appointment, they were suppose to meet in the morning. I didn't hear from them and then started following up via text to see when the ETA was. The ETA kept getting pushed back further and further until late afternoon (4/5pm). I literally waited at home all day to get these shower doors installed. I didn't leave the house as I didn't want to miss them. Upon their arrival I come to find that they quoted for only one door. I had mentioned (very nicely) that I had sent direct links to two shower doors and even had it labeled as Shower Door 1 .... Shower Door 2 and confirmed numerous times install was for 2 doors for 2 showers. In the end they ended up not doing the job because they wanted to double the cost on me. This was extremely frustrating, unprofessional, and an absolute waste of time for me and them to come out to my job site. read more

I desperately wanted to like these guys, in part because it's so hard to find a great handyman and they were very nice. But I struggled... I felt a bit like the left hand and right hand had no idea what the other was doing! I let them know that I lived out-of-state and would have to make arrangements by email, Skype and phone and they said that wouldn't be a problem. But after arranging with them and our renters a specific time and date- they were a no-show. I heard back from the administrator later that morning saying that she had forgotten to call me and let me know that they would need to switch the appointment time to a few hours later. When we tried to coordinate their visit for a few hours later that day, they couldn't make it work again, instead making an appointment for 9 days later. My renters were not impressed with blocking out their Saturday for no reason. I was not impressed with the delay. But I was willing to give it another shot. After some trouble with communication- they kept calling my husband's phone even though I kept giving them my direct number!- we managed to sort it out. When they did show up, they finished the job quickly and were friendly, if not talkative. I've only seen pictures but my renters seem happy enough with the finished product. But then I requested an invoice. The administrator seemed totally baffled by the request because they had sent me a bill. I explained that I would also like a detailed invoice, outlining what costs were labor and which were materials. After several requests- and several emails containing the same link to the same bill- I rang the owner. When I explained what I needed, using the analogy that "a restaurant doesn't just bring you a bill with a total dollar amount at the end of your meal, they show you each item and its cost", he said it would be no problem to send an actual invoice. The administrator sent me another copy of the bill. I gave up. I have no idea why they aren't able to provide me with a detailed invoice for the work they completed at my house, but after all of this back and forth I'm just going to cut and run. It's disappointing, but because they're unwilling or unable to account for their costs, we won't be using them again. UPDATE: I just received a very nice call from the administrator, who filled me in on their updated procedures for customers and sincerely apologized for my experience. We hire Jack Jack of Trades to do yard work. When he mows our huge lawn, he also does the edging and it is affordable!. A big plus for us. He also cut back our insanely overgrown holly tree and hauled the clippings to the dump for us. Once again, it was affordable! And he does a great job. Tony is amazing. He and his business deserve 6 stars! He can do anything around a house and yard, do it well, and do it efficiently. This is about the 5th time he has worked for me. In one day he unplugged a gross bathtub drain, calked the leaking basement utility sink, and shopped for and affixed hooks on bathroom door. That's right. No job is too small! Now all those pesky jobs are done and the price was right. I have seen Tony's carpentry and painting work at a friend's house and will definitely employ him if/when those needs arise. A very good company to do business with for your construction or remodeling needs. Tony and Brian are very professional yet friendly and easy to talk to. They answered all my little questions and took time to explain the process of the work they were doing. I felt very comfortable having them in my house and even some of my pets who always hide when someone they don't know comes in, came out to see them. They completed their work of installing my ceiling fans and kitchen light efficiently and in a timely manner. They were not rushed to do the work, but completed it in a shorter time frame than quoted on the cost estimate. While this is my first project using Jack Jack, it will not be my last project with this company. The work performed was quality and the cost to have the work done was very fair. Emailed Jack Jack of Trades inquiring about some irrigation work. I was promptly contacted by phone and was told that he would need to discuss it with one of his workers with experience in irrigation and get back to me. It's been over a week, and I never heard back. Its fine if the work does not fall inside of the company's scope of services, but its very irritating when someone does not keep their word and leaves you hanging. read more

Update: I ended up getting a call from Brian at 5pm on Saturday (after I wrote the review). He called to tell me he was still on a job in Tenino and asked to reschedule to Monday evening. He did not seem to be aware that I had told Theresa I wasn't available after 4pm. I declined to reschedule given the poor communication. He was polite and told me understood. Seems the right hand isn't talking to the left here...hopefully they get it together as people do seem to like their work based on the other reviews here. read more
