Jack N Jill donuts have been around so long, I've been eating donuts and kolaches here ever since I was a kid. I feel like not much has really changed since then. It's still as good as I remember it, and they still have nice prices too. My favorite to get from them are the sausage kolaches, I love the fact that you can get a larger size and that they're soft, moist and great tasting. I've had some donuts and donut holes from them in recent times, and they weren't my favorite but they also weren't awful either. I didn't experience any weird textures or staleness, however my donuts and donut holes weren't warm and fresh, but that's to be expected when visiting near closing. Besides food, both the man and woman that work here seem nice and appreciative each time; because of that, I continue to return. read more

All I tried was the bacon egg cheese croissant it was really good 5/5 the donuts looked amazing but I'm broke. Kids at the table while parents run it 5/5 will be going more often great place to get a cheap breakfast. read more

If you like donuts then just go. This a one and only place and have been there since my wife's college. A cultural landmark to donuts. Yes they beat Shiplies which is hard to do. Only drive through and limier opening hours but worth the effort. read more

First choice to buy donuts here at 5:15 am Sunday after a 24 hour drive. The sign on the door said open at 5 am. But it was CLOSED!!!!!! There were no lights in the store and no one on sight to know they will be opening soon . We waited for couple minutes and left. read more

My dad has been a loyal patron for 17 years. May, the owner cussed him out for 10 minutes after he told her the cinnamon roll was stale. She has been so hateful to customers for years and now to my elderly dad. They serve terrible sausage kolaches since changing to a cheap sausage and now stale donuts. I have come here w my parents off and on for quite sometime. The doughnuts are fairly good. I like the kolaches pretty well. The jalapeños are very good. There are two sizes and jalapeños and plain. My mom loves the coffee there are bottled drinks and I believe fountain ones. The kolaches can be heated in a micro. There is a three dollar minimum for using a credit/debit card. It is a smaller store w drive thru and carry out and some seating there. I love the croissants w egg cheese and bacon. Another option is w sausage. Everything foodwise was homemade. My only complaint is a minor one. The diet soda in bottles is a bit old much of the time. The cartons of milk are great and my wife enjoyed the Starbucks bottled drink. I believe there are other stores in a few cities near Waco. I have seen one in Lorena and Mcgregor as well. I like this shop as well as many other mom and pop family type restaurants around town. Ordinary pastries at cheap prices. Friendly enough counter lady. A couple pastries & a 16 oz cup of coffee cost $4. Pastries are soft doughy bread with minimal ordinary fillings. Sausage kolache hid a tiny sausage & a smear of cheese-like food product. Glazed donut was way sweet of course. But they don't cost much, so you're getting what you pay for. Coffee was fairly watery & weak on flavor. At this price it's about what you'd expect. read more

Clean tidy restaurant with well stocked display case and freshly made product. Coffee is weak and insipid. The staff and owner are cheerful and efficient, and very patient. Local small biz vibe and loyal regulars come to hang out over coffee and a donut. The chocolate frosting on the donuts is much creamier and applied thicker than most other shops in the area. The sausage link in the large kolache is huge and snappy, and has the right ratio of cheese and jalapeno. Certainly a great way to start a searing Texas Summer day. read more

I'm a sucker for kolache croissants! Driving by this place, it looks like a hole in the wall type of place. Yay for having a drive-thru. I ordered a dozen donut holes and a sausage/cheese kolache croissant here before heading off to our road trip. Did not disappoint - my croissant was huge. We've been coming here for years, because we came here as kids and the donuts are good. These days the service is window-only, no problem with that, but the lady at the window will look at you like you've interrupted whatever it was she was doing, and she's in a big hurry to get back to it, so HURRY UP AND ORDER! She can hardly stand still long enough for you to get your entire order out before she's slamming the window and disappearing. We ordered several items, and she was aggravated that I asked her to warm the kolaches. When I asked for napkins, she pointed to my bag and said they were in there. Yep, there were 3 tiny cocktail napkins, for half a dozen sugary pastries and kolaches. Sure wouldn't want to run you short. Why not hand me a couple more, instead of arguing that you'd already put napkins in the sack... with the cold donuts. Sorry, but your donuts aren't that special. We were coming for the nostalgia, but we're over it. There are other, better donuts in town. Bye! read more

Who puts giant cubes chunks of ham inside a kolache? (Like a giant boiled beam of ham) They do. Jack N Jill was disappointing at best. The selection, while fully stocked, was extremely limited. I was hoping to try a moist glazed chocolate cake but I was met with a boring selection of sprinkles and plain glazed. Still, I bought a few raised chocolate sprinkles and a cinnamon sugar cake in hopes that their taste would make up for it. The cinnamon sugar donut was alright. Average, I suppose. The texture was dense and it didn't crumble all over the place. All in all it was unmemorable. As I bit into the chocolate sprinkle donut I realized that my luck had run out. It was chewy and almost rubbery. The frosting was creamy and thick, and was probably the best part of my experience with Jack N Jill. Had I purchased them at noon I would've given them some slack, but this was 9am. Donuts should not be going stale at 9am. read more

This is a very small shop. They have select few type donuts and kolochies. They also have coffee and milk products. I can say that what I have ate there is very delicious. They do have a drive thru so that you don't have to go in. Nice little place. read more

Jack N'jill Donuts is a small little local donut shop that makes some great donuts. It's just off of Valley Mills on New road, and it's easy to miss. While the inside isn't the most luxurious place, everything is kept clean. Also, a minimum of $3 purchase is required to use a credit card. The donuts that they sell are fantastic. They don't taste like any other donut I've had before. Personally, I prefer their cake donuts, with the blueberry being the best one. Do yourself a favor and try something new at Jack N'jill. Disappointing. I went here based on the other reviews. The donuts were dry and rubbery in texture. The sprinkles were chalky. The staff was not friendly at all. The lady working did not even say hello or bother to give me a smile. It was as if I was a burden on her being there. Bottom line - crappy donuts and crappy service. Go to Shipleys. read more

I visited your New Rd., Waco store this morning, 6:00 am. The employee that was present was the rudest person I have ever encountered considering the store was completely empty accept for her. It seemed to be an inconvenience for her to come to the window, where she opened it about an inch or 2 so that in order for her to hear me, I had to yell my order. When she returned with my food, I paid her, thanked her, during which time she never looked at me once. As I proceeded to thank her again, she snapped the window shut and disappeared in to the back, leaving me sitting there wondering how badly she must dislike her job. read more
