We finally got to try Jack's Place while visiting our sons at UNA! They were super busy, which was the only downfall, service was slow with little time for refills or extra condiments. Other than that, it was a pretty good experience! Will definitely return!

#fatjared say...I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It was not enough to earn 5 stars, as I had a couple of small complaints, but I would definitely go back. One reason I would go back, is the service. We had a new waittress, literally first day, and she treated us so well and with such kindness it really set the tone for a great night. I will explain briefly my grading. I will never give 5 stars if I have any complaints. Period. 5 stars is perfect, and if I have a complaint it's not perfect! For my 2 small complaints, first comes the brussel sprouts. Just overall not good. Not cooked enough, no color on them, not good seasoning, just overall not a good side choice. Being in Alabama, getting veggies is usually not the best bet anyway! HAHA The burger I also think may have been frozen at some point. The edges were a little too perfect, and did not have a fresh taste to me. I may be wrong, but that is just my opinion. Other than those very small things, which let's be real frozen meat is not a big deal. I freeze all my meat when I buy in bulk! Everything else was stupendous. The cheesy wontons rocked, the mini meatballs were great, with not too big of a size, and good flavor on the meat, and MAN that salmon flatbread was UNREAL!!! So good! Well done there seriously!! Great flavor, cool presentation, and a perfect size. They also have great beer options, and cocktails. I had a free dessert when checking in to their place on yelp, and even though they weren't aware of that, they made us a Christmas tree cookie! So cute! Overall, I would go back. I say 4.5 out of 5 stars. Really good, great service, and a fun experience. Couple of misses for me, but nothing to complain too much about. I really enjoyed it!

Seemed like a good place. Just a bit overpriced which will probably cost them some business. It's a place I would go to several times a week instead of once a month or so if I could get a lunch under 10 dollars with a drink. Service was fantastic and food was good, plus my yelp got me free snickerdoodle cookies that were awesome. Inside was super comfortable with great decor. I definitely felt the zen. Overall very good!

If you are ever in Florence, do yourself a favor and eat at Jack's place. Jack is the owner and chef and he worked as a food stylist on several movies including Iron man and the hunger games. To say that the food was delicious is an understatement. We started with the cheese wontons. I had the Cuban panini with homemade chips with a delicious jalapeño ranch dip. My husband had the burger and chips. For dessert we had carrot cake and lavender tea cake with the most unusually delicious ice cream I have ever eaten. I assure you any entree you order will be delicious. This place is a must try.

The food is terrible here. There's a reason no one comes. I heard from a Lyft driver that this was the place to go and they were exceptionally wrong. I've been wondering how come no one has heard about it or goes if it's so great. Now I know why. A lot better restaurants to try in Florence. read more

I was very excited to try this place as I had heard nothing but good things. The atmosphere is ok, however the food left a little bit to be desired. Tried the pork shank and my wife had the brisket sandwich. The pork was very tough. Flavor was good, but just not as good as I had expected. I do not believe this place is as good as lost people are saying it is. read more

Jack's Place has AWESOME food! The problem is the service. Four friends and I ate lunch there recently. At the onset, we were asked if it was one check or separate checks. We told our waitress, we would like separate checks. It took over 35 minutes for soups, salads, and sandwiches to come out, and the place was not crowded. Because one of the orders was wrong, it had to be sent back. When we asked for our checks, were told it would take awhile to separate them. It's such a shame because Jack's Place is so cute and the food is delicious. But even so, my friends and I agreed, we probably won't be back. Improve the service, and we will definitely be back! read more

Waitress was very nice informative about how the owner cooked for stars on movie sets and had closed his restaurant in St Jo, TN to open here in Florence, AL. My girlfriends and I ordered smoked salmon salads, the smoked salmon was slimy, lettuce very visually unappealing, chicken salad sandwiches which was very basic/white bread and salad with spicy chicken. My Spicy chicken was three chunks of boiled chicken dipped in hot sauce so tough I could not chew, the romine lettuce was all hard stalks, no leafy lettuce at all, with the smallest chunks of tomato and grated cheese I'd ever been served. The three of us sent our salads back, not the quality food we were expecting at all. The owner came to our table, we certainly didn't appreciate his very arrogant, demeaning attitude showing us a label off the packaging of his smoked salmon, then he stormed off into the kitchen. If he caters to movie stars, he surely needs to step it up several knotches in Florence, Al to survive in the restaurant business. My friends and I could have gotten better salads at Zaxbys in the drive through. Won't be back! read more

Jack's Place is conveniently located in eclectic downtown Florence, Alabama. We serve classic southern dishes with a modern and contemporary flair. Our executive chef, Jack White, has spent most of his career working as a food stylist for the sliver screen in Hollywood, California. He has played an essential role in over 100 major motion pictures. Jack is also a graduate of the University of North Alabama and is a major advocate for their culinary program. Come by and see our great team of experienced chefs for a savory experience that will keep you coming back for more!

Established in 2018.

Jack's Place opened in 2018. We started with a soft opening for lunch, eventually rolled out dinner and now offer a Sunday Brunch

Meet the Business Owner: Jack W.

Jack was born in Pulaski, Tennessee. He moved to Florence, Alabama to attend the University of North Alabama with a major in broadcasting. After graduating Jack moved to Nashville and worked as a page for the Grand Ole Opry. After leaving the Opry Jack moved to New York City to pursue acting and actually landed a roll as Lionel Harris in The Guiding Light. Jack then moved to L.A. to progress his acting career and it was there he waited tables and worked in kitchens to survive. It was in L.A. that Jack met a food stylist renting a kitchen where he worked and she offered him a job Assisting in the film Bugsy staring Warren Beatty. From there Jack's career took off and for 25 years Jack worked as a food stylist for nearly 100 movies and T.V. shows such as Thor, August: Osage County, the Iron Man Series, Saving Grace, and the Hunger Games. As the film industry left L.A. Jack moved back home to Pulaski to finish the Hunger Games, and it was then when he found his love for Florence again.
