C'mon, there's gotta be plenty of Grease 2 memorabilia lying around. You couldn't give that stuff away. Instead we have a boutique that strongly competes for First Place in this highly competitive, locally-owned strip mall. This is an absolutely divine shop to find a gift for your lover, each and every item that hangs on the wall or shines on a table is clearly hand chosen and, from what I could ascertain, impossible to find elsewhere in the city. World-sourced fabrics, jewelry, sweets, coffee and eats, alongside plenty of locally derived stuff; while I shopped I was offered a taste of some absolutely delirious plum dark chocolate, ungh. Prices were on the hefty end but affordable, certainly not in the Married To The Mob range; the clearance table by the front door had some steals. My favorite products: accessories and bags made from "reclaimed" bicycle tubes. It's a small place, but there's a changing room for those that want to try on the clothing, which is intriguing (but alas no period pieces from Dangerous Liaisons). Most of the gifts were geared toward women, yet I found a few things I'd love to have as well. Overall, the next time you shop this mall wander south of Bookworks and see What Lies Beneath, er, next door.

Walmart Supercenter Bernalillo, New Mexico -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read moreI had a very bad experience at the Walmart Supercenter in Bernalillo, New Mexico, and I feel senior management and customers should know what happened. I had a special event coming up and found a bottle of wine marked down to $30. The bottle had a security device on it. After I paid for my groceries, an employee took the bottle to remove the security device. When I checked my receipt, I noticed I had been charged $42.98 instead of the advertised $30. I asked the employee if the transaction could be corrected, but he couldn't do it, so I went to customer service. That's when I also noticed that the foil covering the cork was missing. At that point, I had serious concerns about the condition of the bottle. I waited for a manager and explained that I had been overcharged and that the bottle's seal/foil had been cut. I asked if I could receive a refund. The manager refused, telling me that New Mexico law prohibits the return of alcohol. I don't believe that explanation was accurate, as I have previously returned wine at Costco and have receipts showing that. I expressed my frustration with the customer service I had received. I then went toward the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions, but it was extremely busy, so I decided not to wait. As I was preparing to leave, I thought perhaps there might be another bottle of the same wine that could simply be exchanged for the one I had concerns about. I went back toward the wine department. The manager followed me and told me that I had to leave the store. I told the manager that I wanted to speak with his manager, and he told me that he did not have a manager. I told him I had done absolutely nothing wrong and was simply trying to resolve a problem with a product I had purchased. He then threatened to call the police if I didn't leave immediately and told me I was not allowed to return to the store. I told him to call the police because, at that point, I wanted to explain exactly what had happened. I offered to return all $354 worth of groceries I had purchased, but he refused to assist me and continued telling me to leave. I was treated as though I had done something wrong when all I was trying to do was resolve an overcharge and a problem with a bottle I had purchased. The store's surveillance video should clearly show what happened from beginning to end. What makes this experience especially frustrating is that I never became aggressive, never threatened anyone, and never did anything to warrant being treated this way. I simply wanted the issue corrected. This was an absolutely unacceptable customer-service experience. Walmart needs to review the surveillance footage, investigate what happened, and address how this situation was mishandled. Customers should not be bullied or threatened with police simply because they question an overcharge and ask for help resolving a problem with a product they purchased. Very disappointing experience at Walmart
