This was my first visit with Dr Poladian. I have a fairly complex medical history, but I was thoroughly impressed with her understanding of my history and the time she spent with me. She also came up with new ideas I or my old NYC Drs never mentioned. She spent close to an hour with me, asking lots of questions and actually listening to me. Dr. Poladian, please train your staff. I'm sure you are an excellent doctor, but the first interaction the public has before they are in your capable hands is with your inept and incapable office staff. My review of my experience is as follows: THE OFFICE STAFF IS TERRIBLE. Upon calling to make an appointment with Dr. Poladian, I asked whether they take my PPO insurance. I was told by her staff that they do, so I made an appointment. The day of my appointment, I called my insurance just to check and they were not able to find Dr. Poladian in their system. In order to double check, they asked me for the doctors NPI #. I called Dr. Poladian's office to ask for the NPI # and was told that NPI #s are confidential and only used by the doctor for billing. Every question that I asked the poor girl on the phone was relayed by her to the person who was in the office with her, then the answer was repeated back to me by the girl on the phone. I asked whether they would call my insurance and provide them with the number and they refused. They said I have to call my insurance and ask them to call the doctor's office. So, I called my insurance, again, and the insurance rep told me that NPI #'s are public record and are all listed on hippaspace.com. Surprise surprise, there was Dr. Poladian's NPI number listed on the internet as public information. In case anyone else needs to deal with her inept office staff, her NPI # is 1629239892. My insurance was able to verify that Dr. Poladian is in fact NOT covered by my insurance. The silver lining, if her office staff is not even capable of verifying my insurance, lord knows how bad they would have messed up the billing. Dr. Jacklin Poladian and Connie are a gift to me full of compassionate, wisdom, and great diagnostic skills. I really appreciate Dr. Poladian's conversations, research, and kindness as she listens, interacts, and makes a treatment plan. Connie is great on the phone and keeping the patients care moving along, stepping up while assisting the clients with integrity and insight. The P.A. is immature, one can hope maturity and the art of communicate with patients as intelligent human beings she can learn. Her ability to interact off of script is seriously lacking. read more

This doctor charges $20.00 per signature. I have to get a physical for work and she needs to sign the forms required by my work. I'm charged $20.00 just to have her sign those. Then I get a bill because I was billed for diagnosis codes outside of the physical. This has happened every year. From what I understand, in a physical you tell a doctor how you are feeling when they ask. So every year, I have to fight the bill. I have to make an appointment to hear my blood test results. Instead, I just asked to see them and they were fine. I would've had to pay for another doctor visit to be told that my blood test was fine. I can't call my doctor for anything because I am told that it requires an appointment. This place will try to squeeze every last cent out of you. Please don't give this woman any more money. And the front desk is unpleasant and incompetent. That's another thing, I fought them on a claim for my physical. They said they would fix it and never filed the claim. I went to this doctor based on the yelp reviews. You did me wrong Yelp, you did me wrong. And I know her office is going to reply to this to try to look good. I promise you dear reader, that what I am saying is true. They will try to justify it in their reply and I'm sure it'll be a nice PR reply. They are liars. read more

This is a very shadey doctors office. Trust is the most important thing when it comes to picking a primary and if you're looking at this doctor I'd say run for the hills and try someone else. I had a physical with this doctor and was checked by the APRN, who has absolutely zero bedside manner as she accosted me for having scars on my leg from 15 years ago. She grabbed my wrist insinuating I must be cutting myself, and i have never in my life been judged so disgustingly in a doctors office. I was sent for blood work, which is normal. I was then told to schedule an appointment for the following week to hear the results of my bloodwork. Confused I asked if they would call me when the results came in and they said yes. So I canceled that appointment, since its completely unnecessary. When the bloodwork came back, I was called by the doctors office to set up an appointment in order to find out the results of my blood work. Have you ever been to a doctor that requires an appointment for blood work results? I haven't. This was the first. When I questioned it, I was told that the insurance allows it, so therefore they do it. This is the second time I noticed this doctors office going above and beyond to schedule me for phone visits that they bill at full price, visits that I didn't need. Visits that could be an exchange of information over the phone, like every other doctors office I've ever been to. When I pointed out that this wasn't right, i was spoken over completely by Connie their receptionist who basically told me to kick bricks and find a new doctor. Honestly, this has nothing to do with the money. I have insurance. However, Out of principle, I'm not letting myself be taken advantage of and there are plenty of non shady doctors in the area. This doctor does not care that I'm experiencing alarming symptoms that could be life threatening. They made it quite clear of that today. If you're looking for a doctor you can trust, Dr. Poladian is not it. Its No wonder I have never seen anyone else in the waiting room besides myself. read more

I started seeing Dr Poladian back in 2013. My initial visit was beyond WONDERFUL! She was so thorough with my whole physical ( she even did an EKG!). My labs were all done she did a head to toe assessment. I was beyond pleased. I was a bit shocked with my bill when I got it a few weeks later and my out of pocket expense but I figured " Hey she was really thorough" ( ...little did I know she was milking my insurance) So of course I scheduled my annual physical this past year with her based on my previous experience. The only thing that had changed was my insurance... No longer was I PPO I was an HMO patient and boy did things change. I made my annual physical appointment and came in to see her. I waited 20 minutes beyond my apt time to be seen. She started going through the routing questions inquiring about my health and here is where it started. .. I voiced my concern in regards to my acne and inquired about a dermatologist she can refer me to..she had the audacity to say " ARE YOU HERE FOR A PHYSICAL? OR A REFERRAL?". I then said "physical". She then said " WELL I CAN ONLY DO ONE OR THE OTHER". After my biting my tongue and stating well I guess I will have to make another apt for the referral...she said " WELL NO I DONT HAVE TIME TO DO YOUR PHYSICAL SO YOURE GOING TO HAVE TO COME BACK... I WILL WRITE THE REFERAL." Then she started to put on her jacket and said she had to go... I was so stunned at how I was being treated I didn't have a chance to react.... But boyyy am I yelping it. I am not an easy patient. I was referred to Dr. Poladian by a specialist who realized I was between primary care physicians, and with all of my issues, I definitely should not have been. She fit me in within days. Our first appointment, we sat and talked, not on the exam table, just chair to chair. She had a list of specialists for me to see. They remain my team of Super Agents to this day. When I have been in crisis, her staff has tried to fit me in, and when they haven't been able to, she has been there for me in the hospital as quickly as possible, and diligently every single day. This is not my first rodeo - I have been sick for a long time. I know when a doctor is doing his/her job, and when a doctor cares. Dr. Poladian cares. It makes a world of difference. read more

I think Dr Poladian is a great doctor. Unfortunately, it's now nearly impossible to get an appointment with her that's not 2 months away. Also, most times I've been in recently I wasn't told that I would only be seeing the nurse practitioner and not the doctor. That's a challenge when I've had a history with the doctor and have specific plans we'd been working on together for my conditions. I'm now back to square one again with having to find a new general physician for the 3 time in 2 years as I can't wait 2 months to see a doctor when my health concerns need addressing in a more immediate fashion. I think Dr. Poladian is capable and nice but the office staff and administration is not. Communication and follow through is not good at all. It's stressful dealing with them. Overall, a really great doctor who spends considerable time with her patients and allows for questions and a dialogue. I can understand some of the other reviews about being seen by her nurse practitioners, training of office staff, etc., but over the last few years, the practice has improved. I see one of the nurse practitioners at least half the time, but except one time a few years ago, Dr. Poladian has always still seen me and spends ample time with me. So I don't mind seeing the nurse practitioners as long as I get to see Dr. Poladian as well. I assume nurse practitioners provide a certain level of efficiency within the practice. Staff have improved as well. They even checked in on me recently when I had to go to urgent care for bronchitis as Dr. Poladian was on a leave of absence. Dr. Poladian seems to listen to feedback as her practice has evolved and improved. She's kind, caring and thorough. She is still relatively young and because her practice is improving and evolving, I'll stay with her. read more

I continue to be pleased with the excellent quality of care Dr. Jacklin Poladian and her staff provide. The pleasant and very professional staff has been streamlined, cross-trained and as a result is very efficient at check-in and, following a brief wait in the waiting area, in taking vitals, reviewing/updating your health records in preparation for the Doctor's exam. Again, one doesn't wait long for Dr. Poladian to come in; and she, too, is friendly, and knowledgeable--about me as her patient and about the kind of information and medical attention/screening I need to maintain my health. She manages the perfect balance between being efficient in the time she spends with you and allowing plenty of time to ask clarifying questions, bring up any concerning issues, and explore options. I especially appreciate the fact that as an MD, Dr. Poladian remains curious and diligent--when necessary, looking beyond test results to find explanations, next steps, answers to resolve persistent, otherwise unexplained medical issues--large or small. This might mean, for example, referral to a specialist to leave no stone unturned, or a very helpful, practical way (beyond medication) to literally think about as well as address insomnia--one that soothes, rather than exaggerates, the problem. And you can always count on prompt follow-up regarding test results or suggested next steps. Usually I'm not compelled to write a review unless it was really bad, and my last encounter with Dr. Poladian and her staff was THAT bad. I needed to see a doctor asap for a swollen neck after a rear ended car injury. Instead of going to the ER as per the chiro's suggestion, I decided to tough it up for the night and see Dr. Poladian instead, expecting a shorter wait and better service/treatment. Here is what went wrong: The rude, unapologetic staff: *schedule appointments and cancelling it without telling me and saying it was cancelled because they never receive a confirmation from me. Really, it was because they think there's a problem with my insurance and they won't get paid. *asked me to verify my own insurance coverage, yes I did. Asked me to verifying whether it's hmo or pop or ipa. Okay, I did that. Some more stuff she asked me to do. And more emphasis that if they don't get paid, it comes out of my own pocket. And if I want a signature for a form, it's another $25. Okay, I understand. The convo ended with Connie telling me that she will ask if the doctor can squeeze me in for the same day appt when doc comes in at 1 p.m. I said I'll call her back later, she says no, don't call me, I'll call you. Her tone of annoyance was abysmal to her lack of consideration that I was in a level 8 pain. *waited till 2 p.m., no call, I called. No apologies for not following up on her word. No apologies for canceling my appointments. I ended up going to urgent care. Scheduled for a later appt with Dr. Poladian. Actual appointment, in the patients room: *asked about preparations to make for an upcoming trip, given a handout on travelers clinic *was suggested for a physical exam by the Physician Assistant, Dr. Poladian listed to my heart and lungs with the stethoscope, handed a lab order for blood tests. What I thought was unnecessary and disrespectful was that they attached a "advanced preliminary form" to the back of the lab order that breaks down the cost of labs and asked me to sign to pay them if they are not covered by my insurance. I know this is not some routine procedure for lab orders. *i saw Dr. Poladian for about 3 minutes max, saw the PA mostly. Not so much of a problem if Dr. Poladian had listened to my concerns versus having her foot close to the door, getting ready to leave any moment. read more

I am in the medical field and am very picky about who I will refer patients to. I have seen Dr. Poladian as my personal physician for over 5 years as well as my family and friends that need a top notch Doctor. The Office staff is extremely helpful, kind and efficient. Dr. Poladian is extremely thorough, spot on with her diagnosing has a great bedside manner and actually takes the time to listen to the patient and incorporate that into her treatment plan. Dr. Poladian solved 2 problems for me that no previous doctor for years had solved. One was bloating (try low fodmap), the other a swollen foot that years of testing had never solved. She figured out it was the lymphatic system and that I needed lymphatic massage to lower the swelling. No one had helped me before her. She listened, was thorough, worked with me (I refuse vaccines and most medications and am vegan), and provided solutions that worked. The lady had a really bad attitude towards people and I can barely get any useful information from her. I was told to do a blood test somewhere else so I asked if she could give some more details about the lab. And she replied "you can google it". Then I asked where to pick up a prescription the doctor gave me and she told me to "ask the pharmacy". At last I asked about the bill and she told me to ask my insurance. I was referred to Dr Poladian by a friend and so glad that I found her. The intake was thorough, her PA took a lot of time asking me questions and she took many notes. Dr Poladian then came in and spoke with me at length, came up with many options and ways to test and figure out what is happening with me. I haven't had a doctor take that much time with me in years. Dr. Poladian is a knowledgeable, intelligent and compassionate physician who has been very helpful in getting to the bottom of her patient's problem. She efficiently zeros in on the root causes and recommends treatment and/or lifestyle changes. She spends all the time needed to explain her findings and recommendations. Dr. Poladian uses nurse practitioners for the first part of an appointment which is something I have not experienced before. While they seem to be excellent nurses, I was at first put off thinking I wanted to see Dr. Poladian from the beginning. I have seen several different nurses and would prefer more continuity. First, for 3 days straight, late afternoon, no-one picked up the phone in the office, nor did it go to voicemail. Then, after finally getting through, they could not answer a simple question: Is Dr. Poladian a preferred provider under an Anthem PPO? They said I needed to check this with my insurance company. Now maybe I should, but I have never experienced a doctor's office that did not know what insurance companies they were contracted with. This made me wonder if they could deal effectively with insurance at all. Would they go to bat for me with the insurance company if necessary? There are too many nurse practitioners and students in this office. Office not consistently good about returning phone calls. Believe there are NO HUMAN words to describe her as a Doctor and as a Person. My first review was also my first appointment with her for my Down Syndrome Brother. Yes, gave her 5 stars then but also with my review knew it would be a process (multi appts. ) and would follow up to actually feel if there was constancy. Lately most services or business are GREAT at first Glance, and upon return feel less and less the standard of service. Dr. Jacklin Poladian ONLY GOT BETTER And BETTER. Actually a process, relationship building. Again, gets better and better. Notice she does everything methodically , PROCESS, Relationship building and adjusting by each step. Dr. Poladian is amazing! She's been my PCP for the past two years and I'm young-ish (32) and usually healthy so I've been a pretty easy patient until this year when she had to treat me through pneumonia and most recently when I was hospitalized with rhabdomyolysis. I called her urgent line around 5am before going to the ER and she returned my call almost immediately advising me to go to the ER in case it was rhabdo (which I had never heard of) and she was right. She visited me each day until I was discharged to give status updates and answer questions. She is very honest about what is going on and her recommendations and I never feel like she is rushed. I recently had the luck of running across Dr Poladian's office and made an appt. 1. I was able to make an appointment in a timely manner. My experience in the past with other dr offices has been 1 month or more out for an appt. 2. Internist Cristine is very good. I met with her before meeting with the dr. She was so thorough I briefly thought she was the dr. I felt very comfortable with her. She listened to me before she started any part of my examination. 3. Dr Poladian is great. Easy to talk with. I felt comfortable immediately. She was clear and concise when discussing details. She's very much in charge making you feel that she's covered all bases thoroughly. 4. Connie the MA handled my refills and explained every single form and/or special instructions given to her by the dr very clearly. She made the last step very easy. I definitely highly recommend this office if looking for a new dr as was the case for me since my dr is no longer practicing. I thought I would be forced to go through several new doctors before finding someone I liked but I lucked out. The office is very clean, presentable and all equipment is modern. My doctor of several years recently retired and I found Dr. Poladian online. I went in for my check-up / initial appointment and immediately knew within the first few minutes she would be a great doctor. First and foremost, I was seen right on time (something that usually never happens with appointments). Her staff is very friendly, and the office is clean. Dr. Poladian was exceptionally thorough with me and I didn't feel rushed. Based on my medical history she ordered a full panel of blood work that was specific to my needs and recommended Quest Diagnostics (which was great!) After my blood work was diagnosed she noticed an abnormality and had me come in just to go over my results.
