I'm not going to lie, I was going to give up on coming here. I originally had Dr. Barry Blum as my PCP, and then he retired. Come to find out that Dr. Arthur Ayvazian is now caring for his patients. So, I'm here for my physical and I every time I come here it is usually the longest wait. Last time I was here, I waited over 50 mins to be called. I was very upset Hence why I was going to give up on this place. But, I figured I'd give this facility another chance and I'm glad I did. I had such a great experience this time around. One, because I ONLY waited for maybe 10 minutes. And two, I appreciated the care that my doctor provided. Dr. Ayvazian is professional and also warm welcoming. I felt very comfortable talking to him and discussing the issues that I was currently experiencing. read more

Doctors appointment should have quicker access to lab techs. It's very troublesome to order labs and expect patients to make "another" appointment to complete the recommended labs, this requires additional time off from work and pay another $12 parking fee to do the recommended follow-up. I just got back from my first appointment with Dr.Ayvazian MD and I can't tell you how impressed I am by him. We had a lot to review, and he listened to every detail - I didn't feel rushed or like "just another person in his queue" for the day. Since Dr. Akopian's departure, my care has shifted over to Dr. Kaufmann. I have seen her twice so far and she has taken the time to listen to me and thoroughly assess my health. She has wonderful bedside manner and is great to talk to. I also want to thank the medical assistant Blanca because I have needed some medical clearances and referrals these last few months for work, and she has helped me so much by consistently responding through the portal. I'm so glad to be taken care of by a wonderful medical team. read more

I wanted to add, I also established care with Dr. Akopian and her thoroughness for her patients and compassionate care made her a standout primary care provider. Now that she has taken a break, my care has shifted to Dr. Grammatico. I can also vouch for Dr. Grammatico thoroughness and care she has given me as a patient. Another patient recently asked me my experience with Dr. Grammatico's care as she and her husband were shifting over to Dr Grammatico. *LADIES DO NOT GO HERE* I was told today by the office staff that the doctor will want to see you EVERY THREE MONTHS if you are on birth control in order to get a prescription refill. In fact she lied to me and told me that it was now the law for doctors to HAVE to see you every three months. Beyond that they lied to me about being in network because they hired a nurse practitioner who was not in network for United and now are footing me with a $140 dollar bill for their mistake. On top of that the only reason I went in for my annual checkup was to be seen by a new doctor since my old one was no longer there... well seeing the nurse practitioner doesn't count apparently but no one told me that at the time... and now they are refusing to refill my prescriptions. On top of that they screwed up the billing for my car accident AFTER I specifically went up to the desk after my visit for whiplash and said "hey this was for a car accident do I need to do anything?" and they said no don't worry about it we will wait for Geico to contact us. Then that very same day I saw that they sent the bill to United, my health insurance. BUT MOST CRAZY IS THIS "BE SEEN EVERY THREE MONTHS TO GET BIRTH CONTROL" RULE. RUN AWAY IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT FAIR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE!!!! read more

This review is specifically about Dr. Taleen Akopian. I saw her today for the first time for an annual physical (just turned 40) and I am very impressed. Dr. Akopian is approachable, very knowledgable, and great to talk to about medical stuff. She's friendly and funny but more importantly direct and matter-of-fact. That's what you want in a doctor. She's good at educating but also listening. Desk staff has been efficient and helpful both times I've visited. I didn't see the doctor until 25 minutes after my appointment time. (Waited in the room for about 15). This kind of wait is not uncommon of course but could be better. For me this is only acceptable because I assume it's because Dr Akopian was taking extra time with her previous patient just as she did with me. Overall, I recommend Huntington Health Physicians and am glad to have Dr Akopian as my new doctor. read more

My young daughter who is no longer a teen is now with an "adult" doctor. We called the office today to make an appointment for her to be seen by Dr.Akopian. When we called to make the appointment, the lady who answered the phone said "She is not here." Silence... My wife asked where she was? I guess she is on maternity leave. Okay. Fine. So our daughter can see another doctor in the office. She took down all of our information. She came back and said "our insurance is good". Our daughter has a red, painful ear with discharge. Instead of setting the telehealth appointment so she could be helped, the lady told us she would have to change to another doctor in the office. It would be effective next month. Even with "good insurance" our daughter can not be seen, even though my wife's school district is paying good money for medical insurance. What is she supposed to do! The lady had no suggestion, but she can't be seen. Never heard of this in my life. Shameful. read more

Caring, compassionate and conscientious, she won't stop until she's figured out what's wrong with you and found a way to treat it quickly. She's the sort of physician who will call in an RX to not one but two pharmacies to ensure you pay the least amount possible, and should you need a specialized formula, she works with an ace mail order pharmacy in LA who can find it for you or order it directly from the manufacturer, ship it to you and save you a great deal of time and trouble. If you're looking for a brilliant endocrinologist who thinks outside the box, look no further and book an an appointment with Dr. Shen. Dr. Akopian is wonderful! I am so glad I found her. She is very thorough, warm, compassionate, and seems like she truly enjoys her job and providing the best care possible. With so much pressure to see as many patients as possible and lower reimbursement rates these days, it is getting rare to find physicians that actually spend time with you. She spent 30 minutes with me face to face, saying that she wanted to get to know me from talking, not from paper, which I really appreciated. The office staff is also great. I had an allergic reaction recently where I spoke with Dr. Akopian after hours (on the weekend) and they called me the next business day to follow up. This is not a review about my doctor, but rather about the inability to get in to SEE my doctor. The amount of time it takes to get an appointment for a specific doctor has been growing longer and longer over the years, as I'm sure most know, but 4 months to be seen for a yearly physical is frankly absurd. Not to mention this is generally the case for nearly any medical needs, I've often said, "...FOUR MONTHS!?!? Well heck, don't bother scheduling it, I'll be dead by then!" The doctor I see at Huntington is great, but the staff is either utterly worn down or, simply, couldn't care less. Expressing any kind of concern or surprise about the amount of time it will take to procure a needed appointment is met with total indifference and a labored suggestion to see someone else. I made an appointment nonetheless and, unfortunately, my iCal went down and I missed it. They did not leave me a message or send me a text nor email - as does my dentist - a few days in advance, so I was back to another 4 month wait... or not. Sadly I've chosen not and will be looking for a new doctor. I will miss my doc, but not this office. read more

Dr. Thirumala Raju's COMPLETE DISREGARD for my health and the TERRIBLE INCOMPETENCE of her office staff have inspired me to write my first review. I saw her for an injury and got no help, no information, no advice, nothing useful whatsoever. When I probed specifically about what would help or hurt my situation, she said "nothing." All she did was write an order for a scan which was also useless because her office staff never sent the authorization to the imaging place. So I had to wait at the imaging place for 2 hours while they communicated with Dr. Raju's office for authorization, with no result; I left with no scan. Later, I called the office myself to ask for authorization, I asked also for an MRI -- which she should have prescribed to begin with (as I learned from subsequent doctors). You'd think she'd want to help. Instead, Dr. Raju said I had to come in for another visit if I wanted another prescription!! Also, at the beginning of the visit, when she took my history, she told me there were all kinds of drugs in the system under my name, none of which I had ever been prescribed. She said nonchalantly that "they" meaning her staff had made a mistake, so she deleted everything. That's quite a mistake! Then she proceeded to ask me the same questions five times, demonstrating that she was not paying attention to my answers at all. This was a terrible experience and complete waste of time. I would NOT recommend anyone go there. read more

Dr George Jung had been my parents' doctor for over 10 years. In the last few years, his ability to provide care to my mother has deteriorated. He has succumb to asking ME details re her care, prescriptions, past visits, and procedures-either because he is too busy to review her info or he just doesn't remember. He has even tried to send my mom to get a secondary mammo when HE wasn't aware (or his staff didn't inform him) that my mom's results came in electronically! I refused to take her to get a secondary mammo due to his or his office's incompetence, which was when upon further inquiry, he discovered that my mom's results were submitted to his office electronically. My mother is in very good health, but in the last 2-3 years, he makes my mother and I come in just to be briskly told about her lab results, which are almost always fine. I believe his office over- schedules patients for unnecessary visits in order to bill the insurance companies. In addition, he is brisk and rarely actually talks to my mother but speaks to me even though she is capable of understanding him. The worst thing about this office is his out-right rude, unprofessional, and abrupt staff who act like they are doing the patients a favor. While the wait time for the appt is often 30 minutes in the waitroom and another 30 min in the exam room, we were once 10 min late for an appt and the staff turned us away, and they were very rude when we appealed to them; the entire staff (told us it was OUR fault and that they could make no accommodations for us. When I spoke to Dr Jung about this situation, he defended the decision of his staff and dismissed our appeals. I am in the process of searching for another primary care physician for my mother. read more
