Traveling from Indianapolis to Columbus- early morning- and needed, as in NEEDED, coffee and a treat! Glad to pass by StarB's to find this wonderful local treasure.

They're just a bit better than day old donuts at the supermarket. It's like the only game in town.

I frequently order cod, shrimp, and walleye at Culver's and it is better than fish at many sit down restaurants. Definitely the best seafood at any fast food restaurant. My food was brought out quickly, as soon as I parked. Always a good experience at Culver's.

The employees at the counter were welcoming & took our order quickly. We each ordered the one piece walleye dinner with coleslaw, roll & butter & fries. I decided to switch out the fries for onion rings. Hubby got a Coke but I chose to skip the Coke products (not a fan) & drink water. We asked for our senior discount & got it. The food was delivered to our table by a polite employee within 6-7 minutes. The walleye was scrumptious though a little on the greasy side. We had to use several napkins to soak up the excess oil. The tartar sauce served with the fish was very good. I was disappointed with the onion rings as they were dry & tasteless. Hubby told one of the employees that I wanted to try their made in-house signature root beer & she gave it to me free of charge. It was really refreshing & I appreciated the gesture. We will definitely eat here again.

I ordered a Diet Coke and got a free Vanilla Shake. That was delicious! The second time, I ordered a Diet Coke and a Medium Reese's Blizzard. That was also delicious! The points have started to accumulate! I probably will come back, but I wish the Dairy Queen on South 9th Street will take the rewards program and give points. It is closer to me. The only ones around me that does so are this one and the one in Centerville. I am willing to drive here, but it would be nice if the South 9th Street would.

Blizzard conditions at DQ but no frostbite!…read more I remember a time when I was satisfied with a small vanilla cone or a Mister Misty. When the Blizzard arrived and they turned that first cup upside down, I was hooked. Nothing much has changed at this DQ. It's relatively inexpensive and you still have to lean down to talk through the opening. Well, actually, I didn't lean down way back when--I looked up. The price of a small Blizzard was under $3.00 and that's not terrible. I remember paying more in Philadelphia around 1990. Of course, the Dairy Queen stores in Richmond haven't moved and there is no Brazier burger, but I'm certain you can still get a wimpy or BBQ sandwich for lunch on the run, and a dose of heartburn. I'm surprised everything is in such good repair after so long but my German Chocolate Blizzard tastes as good as any I can recall, though the thing must have been 2 inches taller than the cup. One thing remains constant--the lines at the windows.

The ambiance is a turn of the century brick firehouse. Hubby & I ordered the Firehouse Sampler ($34.95) with 2 sides (mac n cheese, scalloped cabbage). My son got the Pulled Pork ($14.95) with 2 sides (mac n cheese, green beans). Both of these meals needed garlic bread served with them. There were 3 made in-house bbq sauces & they were all bland. Sadly, there was no Carolina gold bbq sauce. The meat was good but a little dry. Of the 3 sides we tried, the green beans were the best. I would like to return & try something on the Handhelds menu. You have an experience that will please any pallet. I love it that they have three different barbecue sauces for you to choose from, Hot, sweet and mild. To me it lets you choose the flavors you like because one has a little more of a brown sugar taste and the other has a little more of a vinegar taste. I like to dip my sandwich. I got the visit in the evening and introduce a friend from Michigan to one of my favorite restaurants. He was so happy with a brisket. There is so much history and so many cool things to read on the walls. The decor is charming and it's an awesome place to sit and have a beer and catch up with a friend afterwards. It's my favorite for lunch and dinner in the depot district.

The lighting is not overly bright, which is a good thing. The restaurant feels clean and restrooms are acceptably maintained. Food is really good and the portions are big. The lobster dip is a winner. Warm and cheesy with a little kick and a respectable amount of lobster meat to enjoy. It's served with hot fresh thin tortilla strips. Speaking of hot and fresh, the cheddar bay biscuits that come with the meal are tasting really great lately; I wonder if they've improved the recipe. We had great service today from Dana who was most attentive and even lent a bit of a hand in packing up leftovers. The waitstaff here often seem to have a problem when we ask that our leftovers be boxed up for us. To be fair to Dana I didn't make a formal request for that service today, but sometimes in the past there were issues. Honestly, following the appetizer we could probably have split the fish & chips and eliminated leftovers. They have a nice bar that includes booths but there is not always a bartender on duty. There's plenty of parking including handicap spots. This is a good choice for casual seafood dining.
