We've lived in Meridianville for a while but never swung by Posey' before - we decided to change…read morethat today! A lot of reviews refer to this place as having a buffet, but that isn't technically correct - they have a food bar but limit you to one plate/visit. It is very clear on the menu and my wife confirmed this with a server. Everywhere we looked there seemed to be people doing multiple trips so that was kind of weird. It was very hot inside - not sure if the AC was on the fritz or they were just catering to the older crowd but everyone in my party commented on it. Wife and kids got the food bar and I ordered a club sandwich off the menu. They serve Pepsi products here. My wife was pretty happy that they had turkey, fried chicken and ham available plus a lot of the usual southern food sides available (rolls, corn, green beans, cornbread, stuffing, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes etc). They want everyone visiting the food bar to wear gloves while serving food which is weird but I'm fine with that. There was one server for our entire side of the restaurant and I feel like she did a good job and was hustling- she served food poured drinks and bussed tables. The food... the food was below average. Just going to be honest here. The fried chicken had a very good breading that was pretty salty. The rest of the food was extremely bland and lacked flavor. All of the negative reviews for this restaurant usually point this out. They have a very loyal crowd of regulars it seems, but the food was bland. The mashed potatoes was bland and was the consistency of powdered potatoes. Idahoan instant mashed potatoes beat these easily. Mac n cheese was ho-hum, turkey was bland, etc. The wild rice was awful and lacked any sort of salt or.flavor. The corn bread is the unsweetened variety that is super dry. Honestly the only good thing we had was the fried chicken. My club was OK. They had a lot of meat in it, but the meat was hot which was unexpected. It looked good and had bacon which was nice, just tasted plain to me. I will probably come back and give it another shot someday, but honestly it feels like mostly institutional food in a hot restaurant with odd rules.

Buffet is small, but what's there is delicious, fried catfish and pork chops are delicious.read more

The restaurant is located in an old strip mall. The parking lot was full with one more space to park. When we walked in, all the tables were full with two needing to be cleaned. This was a good and bad sign. Food must be good and staff is overloaded with work. We saw ladies moving at breakneck speeds bringing food to tables and cleaning. The interior is modestly decorated and clean. Not knowing if we should wait for a table to be cleaned or go to the counter, we went to the counter. The nice lady there smiled, welcomed us and asked if we wanted a to go order. We told her we would dine there and she said go get a table and we'll wait on you. Hubs got a table while she explained the lunch special to me. Lunch special options were fried catfish, grilled ham and roast beef with gravy. They were out of the roast beef and gravy, stewed potatoes and field peas and snaps. Other vegetables were pinto beans, collard greens, green beans, slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad, white corn and diced peaches. The lunch special was a meat, 3 veggies, dessert and a drink. Dessert was out so we were given a choice of another vegetable or diced peaches. Both of us got 4 vegetables. Our foods were delivered to our table and they were excellent. There was so much food we weren't able to make a huge dent so we asked for to go boxes. Lunch specials on Sunday are $11. Awesome foods for a fair price. The fried catfish according to my husband was delicious and perfectly cooked. The collard greens they serve are the best we have had in north Alabama. We were very pleased with our lunch and will go back to try other foods. Hubs got a cheeseburger and fries to go. Both were delicious!!! This is home cooking like your grandmother or mother cooked back in the good ole days when black and white TVs were all that was available.

The truck came to a neighborhood near me a few weeks ago, so I thought I'd try it out that way! Their truck has a pretty good set of offerings: deli sandwiches and lots of hot dogs with different fixings. They also serve ice cream and milkshakes from the truck, which is kind of unusual! Their hot dogs are quarter pound and all beef. I'm boring when it comes to my hot dogs, so I asked for only ketchup. My meal came with some ruffles potato chips, some onion dip (which was delish and a fun addition!), and a bottled drink. A good deal for only about 8 bucks! The folks working the truck were friendly and polite and understanding when I had a mild credit card malfunction. My food came out in a pretty reasonable amount of time. I also got a small cup of cookies and cream ice cream. Overall, I was pleased with my food. The hot dog was HUGE; I couldn't eat it all. I thought it was a little bit big for the bun, but I enjoyed that it was all beef. The ice cream tasted like standard Blue Bell or something -- no complaints there. Yummy, not mind blowing, but definitely an enjoyable treat on a hot day. Some day, post Covid, I look forward to dining in at their restaurant! Until then, I'll keep an eye out for their food truck.

I was looking for a road trip to entertain myself and my parents on a day off. Having heard a…read morecouple whispers about this place, and considering it fit the bill for a nice country drive, I stuck the address in my GPS and off we went. This little diner -- it's a diner, not a grocery; currently waiting on Yelp moderators to change the name -- recently relocated to its own full restaurant in November. Prior to that, I believe they were serving out of a former gas station. The new location is very spacious, with room for lots of customers, and has super cute country-chic decor. They serve breakfast till 11 every day and it all sounds delicious. Lunch offerings include burgers, Phillies, pizzas, chicken tenders, and a few blue plate options. After reading through lots of reviews of this place and checking out their Facebook page, it seemed as though burgers were the thing to get, so that is what we ordered. Their burgers come in 2 sizes: small (4oz) and large (7 oz). We ordered one small cheeseburger, one large cheeseburger, and one large bacon cheeseburger -- I wanted the full experience; don't judge! ;) We all got fries as our side, though they also offer onion rings. Let me tell you, we were not mislead at all on the burgers. They are obviously handmade: freshly pattied, cooked on a flattop grill, thick, juicy, and perfect. They nailed our topping specifications perfectly -- no wrong orders here. The cheese was nice and melty and the bacon was thick cut and crispy. Sincerely, one of the best burgers I have had in a while. Definitely a top 5 for the Huntsville area, and ABSOLUTELY the best you can get anywhere in the immediate area. They seemed to do a good bit of carryout business and goodness knows our orders were served promptly, so this could be a great alternative to nearby fast food. The one drawback of our experience was the fries. They were probably frozen and then fried, and although they were salted decently, they did suffer a from oiliness as well as a few being undercooked. I would skip these when I return. A large hamburger was more than enough for a satisfying meal; you don't really need the fries. Service was very kind and chatted us up about their recent move, their specialties, and what kind of customers they often serve -- we were curious, since they are very much off the beaten path. The pleasant staff informed us they get a lot of farm and construction workers passing through, so if you're passing through too -- make this place your next stop!

But the girl at the front counter was very pleasant and explained the pizza menu and listed some of their most popular. She recommended the chicken Parmesan which I ordered. My husband ordered a medium House Pizza and got a second for free to take for lunch with him tomorrow. Then we went to find a seat. The dining area is small but cute. It gives the feel of a little pizzeria. The wooden benches look home done and beautifully stained and clear coated. No waitress checking in on you, no breadsticks for snack on while waiting, just the decor. Then the food comes. Smells good. Have to go around the corner to grab plastic fork and knife. Then say the blessing and start to dig in. From just looking at my entree it should have been called spaghetti with chicken. The chicken parm was just 2 chicken fingers with melted cheese and sauce. The garlic bread was a sub bread with butter and garlic powder on top. The sauce is ok but has no depth of Italian flavor. I could only eat so much of it. The pizza was again ok. The crust was very crunchy no sponge at all. The sauce was sweet but no depth, plenty of toppings but the flavor of the toppings was not there. It was very bland. I hope this review helps at least a little.
