They were the only distributor in town for a handgun I wanted. I went in and looked at it, the price on the gun was $299.99 and fully loaded it held 37 shells. I asked for two boxes of shells (20 in a box) and the would only sell me one. I reminded them that one box would not fill the gun they were selling me and they coldly said "it's times we are in". They said I could come back tomorrow and buy another box and I reminded them that another time we were in was $3.00 per gallon gas. I guess I understand there is a shortage of ammunition, but it would appear to me they could sell enough ammunition to load the gun they were selling. When I got home I checked the receipt and they charged me $319.99 for the $299.99 gun they showed me and I purchased. I would give these folks 2 stars instead of one if they could have been polite, but screwing me on ammo, the price and having an arrogant attitude makes this a 1 star review. I will not be going back. Today I went down the road to Discount Sporting Goods on E Walnut who is on the same time zone but didn't have the same times we are in restriction. Add to that, their ammo was 8% cheaper per round. read more

I bought an old SKS from them that they boasted matching serial numbers on multiple parts, come to find out after buying it that the trigger group simply won't come out. It needs to come out in order to be properly cleaned. They told me that it had a 5 round capacity, which doesn't make sense as an SKS comes with an internal 10-rd magazine. I came to find out that when loading more than five rounds, the weapon was firing two or more rounds per trigger pull- I've since gotten rid of it, but for the premium prices they charge I would not have expected to get such a lemon. Not to mention the fact that such a weapon could bring a buyer serious legal ramifications- their insistence that it was a "five round magazine" tells me in retrospect that they knew exactly what was wrong with what they were selling. Normally I'm all for supporting small businesses, but these people are just flat out greedy. Your best bet is to steer all the way clear of these folks and go to Academy. Or, better yet, just check what they have on the shelves here and order it online for 10-30% less than what the store's selling it for. Better to spend money someplace that they'll take care of you than to spend it someplace that puts profits ahead of honesty. read more

The staff for the firearms dept. are ALL super competent and professional in their interactions with users of the range and buyers of rifles and pistols. The range is a great place to take your children and grandchildren for jointly participating in an activity that will go on for a long time. Its actually a happy environment to visit.
