I received a flower delivery from here. The flowers were beautiful, so pretty! The issue is that they reeked like cigarette smoke. I mean the delivery driver must have chain smoked all day while delivering flowers. It's too bad that they look so pretty and smell so bad. I've been coming to this like forever, I should have wrote a review so many visits ago, but I was just to busy enjoying taking care of the plants I always buy from this nursery. It's a family owned business, every visit was always a pleasant experience. The nursery always have a very appealing- gorgeous seasonal display at the front of the store. I highly recommend this place place. It has everything you need for your landscaping and gardening needs. I found plants there that's hard to find in our area, prices are very reasonable, and the quality is always excellent due to the fact that my plants always thrive after I bring them home. I need to mention that the staff are available to help the costumers, very friendly, helpful and attentive at all time. read more

Nice selection of plants but extremely overpriced. You can find the same plants at a third of the prices at any other independent nursery nearby. After seeing a $100 tiny, bare bones basket of a string of pearls (perhaps they were variegated? Still...) recently, I can't imagine I'll ever return. I understand some plants are trendy/rare but that's just unreasonably marked up. It isn't a hipster little plant shop in downtown or anything, so I find their prices to be honestly just really unexpected and disappointing. read more

Went to Jackson Florist for the first time the other day and I will definitely be back. The owner (I think he was the owner) was SO knowledgeable and kind, (as were the other staff members I interacted with). He made sure I knew everything I needed for my new lemon tree and Venus fly trap. Heavy duty pots are available at great prices that can't be beat elsewhere. Cute little flower shop with tons of great selection! I have found some really cute tillandsias, succulents, and cacti here! They have tons of supplies needed for growing all sorts of plants. My go to shop for all my floral and gardening needs. Sometimes they have great sales also! They recently had a penny sale, but I showed up after all the flowers had been picked through. But generally, they're reasonably priced in comparison to Lowe's and Walmart. read more

OK. I would have to agree with other reviewers: the selection at Jackson is good. The business itself is actually larger than it looks like from the street, and we've gone here for some years to shop for 'outdoor decorating' and it's convenient for those who live in TheCOV, Ft Wright, Taylor Mill, etc. Basically, this is our Neighborhood florist. Unfortunately, as my nickname implies - it's mostly about the service for me, and we have kids (family-friendly is important). We like to take our children places so they can be with us and experience what we do in life (you know, school of real-life). Our experience was not-so-great in the service department: it started with a certain bird-bath that was set right next to an aisle-way. As my kids were looking at a water fountain, we heard a *crash* and rounded the corner to find that our 2 year old had broken the top of said birdbath. So, there is frustration number one: they are not mindful of children when setting their displays (or adults? Seriously, I probably could have hit it with a cart.) OK, I'll settle down to avoid a Yelp-rant. My second frustration is that the service from the office staff is pretty cold. Obviously, in this situation (broken birdbath dish), they weren't any more receptive to our business than in times past. They grabbed the larger pieces of broken dish, and asked "can we ring that up for you?" We paid for the birdbath (it not cheap) - which makes sense! I get it, we broke it! But that was it. From what we could pick up, one of the employees that helped us was new - but there should have been some good support for this new employee, IMO. Tina helped me pick out some wonderful flowers for a window box. She knew just which colors and flowers would be both pleasing to the eye and practical from a maintenance perspective. I have been a customer of Jackson Florist for years. I have ordered many arrangements for weddings, birthdays, births and funerals. I recently ordered an arrangement for my granddaughter's 7th birthday. The flower's were delivered and my daughter sent me a picture of the arrangement. The arrangement didn't look like what I ordered, so I called them and decided to go in and show them the picture. Before I got there they had already resolved the issue and was extremely apologetic. The ladies treated me very nicely during the resolution process. Thank you Jackson Florist for being such a welcoming business establishment and resolving my issue in an honorable timely fashion.
