Thomas Hicks and his firm are unscrupulous and extremely unprofessional. I would never use or…read morerecommend them to anybody again. I was overcharged by tens of thousands of dollars over the 3 years I was a client, thinking I was paying for a high-level of service. Instead, they screwed up years of my tax returns, which I had to pay to have re-filed by a different CPA. I was actually owed nearly $100,000 in refunds from the IRS, which I would've never known had I not left JT Hicks and Company. Unfortunately, I referred a good friend of mine to Thomas and his firm years ago and he had a similar experience. We are currently considering our legal options as this is completely unacceptable from a licensed CPA who is someone you should be able to trust. I even paid this firm thousands of dollars to file my personal 2021 tax return, only to find out a year later from the IRS that he never filed the return. I've now been hit with over $8,000 in failure to file fees from the IRS due to his negligence. Bottom line, stay away from JT Hicks and Company.

I called h n r , the lady told me i needed a special prep on self employment, she said the person who does it wont be back for 30 days. Lol good bye. The jackson hewitt guy at stillwater walmart set me up with an appointment with in 24 hours, i even showed up at wrong address (a different hewitt) he waited for me. My tax prep took less than 20 minutes and he was done, It cost me a little but it would of cost me 200 more at h n r . The time and convenience and frustration it save me was worth it. I tried going to his office for help--it was closed tight with no info on how to reach them. Secretary said she'd send requested info but didn't. Very expensive for a lot of hassle and anxiety. I searched for some time to find a positive comment, and can say this: they were friendly and polite. Unfortunately, that doesn't come close to making up for other failings. He let fancy computer do the work, so it didn't take long to file the initial return --but the errors I found later were horrific. I usually do our taxes, but had a few head injuries interfering with my ability to think. I made the worst choice: I put my faith in this person. Don't make the same mistake!

I hired this business to file my taxes. They made a mistake that was never corrected although they…read moresaid numerous times that they would take care of it. As a result I have had late fees attached to my returns, garnishments, I have had damage to my credit because the outstanding debt went to collections (even though there wasn't actually a debt owed). He never once returned my phone calls, rarely actually picked up the phone when called, rarely at his office and now his number is disconnected. Do yourself a favor and find a different tax preparer!
