The are an amazing team at a rustic lodge in the beautiful, wild Big Hole Valley of Montana. This place is the real deal! You'll have a great time relaxing in the hot springs pool! Open air in summer and covered in winter so enjoyable year round. Quaint cozy and clean cabins, full bar and good restaurant, very relaxing and welcoming staff. The lodge is old log style building, 1800 mountain lodge architecture like the Yellowstone set... Women's dressing room is small with only one change room/ toilet/ shower will hot springs water. What could improve? First off, this place could immediately benefit with a new owner(s). The current owner has no idea how to run a business that deals in Hospitality and Accommodations. Both the owner and the woman who takes reservations over the phone who calls herself "Lexi" are completely unapproachable!! I had to state her name because she uses profanity while speaking to Guests. She truly offended me. This is not a UFC/ MMA fighter camp but when this hostile, rude man called me on the phone and referred to himself as the "owner" of the Lodge, was screaming at me and was completely rude! Instead of reasonably talking to me like an adult offering an apology on behalf of his employee, he started to berate me as if I were the bad guy! I seriously encourage everybody to read the other reviews posted on Yelp & Google. Decide for yourself if this is a place that you want to invest time and money in. Initial Complaint: I couldn't get the owner to calm down long enough on the phone to have a reasonable conversation. His intent was to tell me off and that I was not welcome at his Lodge.... ever. The Lodge owners attitude and behavior toward me became my CHIEF complaint. I sent my initial complaint via email to the owner regarding his employee named Lexi who handles Reservations/Cancellations for the Jackson Hot Springs Lodge in Montana. I had to cancel my first reservation but the issue began when I went to re-book for 3 months later. I noticed in an email the next day sent from the Lodge that I was charged for a new Jackson House Reservation when my 1 year credit should have been applied. I took a screenshot of the email. When I called to discuss the error, Lexi told me "quote- unquote" to "quit my bitching"! and that I could "Bitch all I want", I'm not the one who sent the email"! WOW! I asked her what her manager would say if he heard how she was speaking to Lodge Guests like this! She replied with: "well my manager is sitting right here" obviously condoning her rude, disrespectful behavior and repeated use of profanity to me over the phone hence the bad reviews from Guest complaints My experience with both the new owner and the reservation staff was a true and viable experience and it was absolutely horrible. Luckily, I got my money refunded from a non-refundable policy but it is important for all to read about my horrible experience and make a clear and conscientious decision before stepping' a foot on this property. read more

Jackson is not my favorite hot spring I've visited in Montana, but they were good. The pool gets deeper the further out you venture, but there is no shelf or seating alongside the edge, to sit. So if you're looking to sit and drink in this spring, you'll have to do it towards the front, on the floor. That area is usually crowded though, as there's nowhere else to sit. The lighting when the sun goes down and nice and romantic, so it's great for a date weekend getaway. Inside the lodge and the bar area has a very western aesthetic. The food was surprisingly delicious. Overall, worth the trip! read more

Our reservation for 30 was given to another party of 50 that arrived before us. Walked in and even though the reservation was still in our name they refused to seat saying the party of 50 had already been seated. Extremely disappointed in their attitude and service. We were skeptical about going after reading some of these reviews. However, our experience was absolutely exceptional! We came out to Dillon for a hunting trip and ended up coming to Jackson hot springs every night because it was so amazing. Food was great, it's pricey but it's in the middle of nowhere so that should be expected. Drinks were awesome! And the hot springs were perfect! Well taken care of, perfect Montana atmosphere, great people, great service, and so relaxing! Definitely our new favorite get away spot! read more

Not what we thought it was--but not advertised incorrectly. The natural springs pool is surrounded by wood walls with plastic on the exterior, so no air flow and no "natural" surroundings visible. We went on a Sunday morning in June and it was surprisingly not too crowded. Water temp and clarity were great. October 2020 stayed on a Saturday night. Driving through Montana stopped here overnight stay and soak in the hot springs. Read a lot of reviews. my take being city people it was rustic. They still use these things called keys for the old cabins. Seemed clean. No tv internet or shower in our room. (The only showers in the place was one in each changing room that is shared by all and one in the pool area. )A bed microwave fridge. Room was warmed by hot springs. It was comfortable and nice. Toilet had some issues. A bit of a walk outside to the bar to get to the pool. you have to parade though the bar to the hot spring pool. On a Saturday night with my wife I'm sure it's Entertaining for the locals. The pool was semi clean I would go again. Looks like just a big old swimming pool not kept up. Lots of Open containers of alcohol in the pool by swimmers with there kids. Dinner was very slow and nothing really good to write about. Hour and a half for one order of chicken strips and water?? small town customer service did not seem very important. read more

A lot of potential but it's not there right now. Stopped in after riding 20 miles from Wisdom in snow. Cycling across country. I thought the $75 was a great deal but I overpaid. My cabin didn't have a bathroom. It was outside in a different building. Bathrooms were small and dim. Shower stalls dirty and dark. Blood stains in my sheets. Wrong hours on the door. The continental breakfast was just some pastries and cereal. You have to ask for coffee. I only gave it 2 stars because the lady helped me out when I came in freezing. A friend had heard about the reopening so we decided to make the longish drive from Butte for a soak. The restaurant was unfortunately not opening until the next day. They were still working on some finishing touches in the lodge but everything looked great. The water was 103 degrees in the pool and very clean. We were told they close and clean the pool twice a week on Monday's and Thursday's at 2pm. While everything seemed very clean the pool has not been redone and looked a little rough but held water just the same. My only concern was with the ladies changing room being so far from the pool and not all that private but since we had the entire lodge to ourselves it did not affect us. We look forward to returning again and trying the food. read more

Stayed for a weekend and had an overall great experience. Cabins where small and rustic but clean, was slightly odd to have the bathroom in a small cabin next to ours but it was private. Less convenient when it's really cold out but nothing to cry about. Pool was awesome and it was warm and had a great atmosphere. Food was good but not amazing. Had to go for certain things. Burgers burnt and could tell they where frozen. But the fish and chips, prime rib, sweet potato fries and shrimp where awesome. Breakfast was great too. Was disappointed that they where out of some things. This definitely does seem to be the local watering hole and hotspot for the weekends. This left the pool horrendously crowded(especially for covid times). I would have expected a limit for the pool with overnight guests being priority. Would recommend staying on week days and not a weekends for this reason. Overall great stay and will go again. read more

Went there 4th of July weekend with a group and rented 4rooms. Rooms were cute but no AC but wasn't a problem. After a long day of riding our side by sides we went to the bar for dinner and drinks. Prime rib was amazing. Loved the quaintness of the place! After dinner we stayed at the bar for cocktails and at one point I noticed I had dropped my debit card out of my pocket onto the floor. As I got off the stool to grab my card I tripped over the mat on the floor that had been kicked up and fell onto the concrete floor on my knees. Before I could even stand up the bartender Austin screamed at me and told me to "Get the F*** out of the bar!" I was in complete shock!! He continued to scream at me at which point I left. I was in total misbelief..it's not as if I was stumbling around drunk. The thing that shocked me most was he didn't even ask if I was ok before he screamed at me to get out. Completely unprofessional, rude and unlike anything I've ever experienced!! I've NEVER been treated so rudely in my life. Not a very good way to treat customers who paid a pretty penny to stay there. Management should really train the staff on customer service. If he thought I was too drunk(which I wasn't!) and needed to leave he could've asked if I was ok and told me that he wasn't serving me any more. Very disappointed in this place because it was really nice except for the horrible way I was treated. Good luck to them with a bartender like that!! read more

Just got back from a one night stay at Jackson hot springs with our family. We were not really impressed. Keep in mind this is remote Montana, so keep your expectations very low and u might be ok. Got into the room. And it is rough. Bed is very poor. Tiny bathroom. Shower was made for an eight year old. Barely could even spin around it in. No TV. It did have a fridge. $160 for one night. Rip off. But we came for the hot springs right. Ok the water is quite warm. Which is good. That was nice. But the entire pool area is rough. The concrete pool has many many rough areas on your feet. Think of broken concrete. The walls need painted bad. Just many repairs r needed. It is outdoor which is a plus. U cannot bring your own beer or alcohol, they make a big deal about u must buy it from our bar. U cannot even bring in water. I guess they think u might sneak in a mix , OMG. Then the restaurant. It was 90 minutes to get three plates of food. That is not a joke, that is what it took. Servers were terrible. Basic food too like chicken strips and country fried steak. And the side salad was about six bites. Much more expensive than u would expect as there r no other restaurants, we walked to Rosie's cantina and it was closed at 6pm on Saturday. The only nice part was the lodge was pretty neat. It had a pool table, shuffleboard, and foosball. My son like the billiards and shuffleboard more than the pool area. Overall, I will not go again. If u r really close try it out. Just keep your expectations really really low, maybe pack your own food so u don't sit in a restaurant for two hours of wasted time. read more

This place is making a turnaround! The new owners are making some great improvements to an older establishment and you can tell. I stayed 3 nights while backcountry riding. The rooms were aged but they were clean. There were issues in the room but take a look around and see where your at! If you're a city boy or girl I recommend you stay at home. They are fixing things as they can and you should understand that! I mainly care about cleanliness and they were good to go. Beds were comfortable and sheets were good. There are no phones, televisions, WiFi or AC.-perfect there is a fireplace in the room which is pretty neat if you choose to use it. The restaurant has a wide range menu of the basics, they seemed to have a nightly off menu special. The food was all fresh and well prepared. Breakfast was awesome as well! The portions were large and they have a great selection.The wait staff was friendly and attentive definitely great employees! The bar is stocked with the basics they have a couple of tv's there if you would like to dine or have a drink while catching the game. Bartenders were all awesome and worth their weight in gold. The pool/hot spring is the hidden gem here. It's pretty sweet to have a soak after a long day riding, hiking, hunting, skiing or whatever. It sits at about 103 degrees and boy does it relax the body. It is about 2.5' deep in the shallow end and about 7-8' in the deep end. It is outside, enclosed but no roof. The water was clean and a not chemically. They were working on the deck while I was there putting in trex but they did not interfere with me using the facilities which was pretty cool. All in all I would say give this place a shot! Take it for what it is! It's a pretty darned good place to stay for its location and history. The new owners are working on it and in my opinion off to a great start! read more

Spent a few days here the end of August while in the area for a wedding. Definitely would stay again. Staff was great - fully attentive, friendly and worked hard to keep customers happy despite short on staff. Bartender Lane introduced us to some local favorites, Food at the lodge was fantastic - they have a great chef! Hot springs pool is quite nice for relaxing at the end of the day. We stayed in a unit with 1/2 bath. Saw wildlife right out or door. Beautiful landscape too. Shower in pool changing rooms is good but be aware the water is from the natural hot springs so gets hot quickly! Suggestion for improvement - showers in camping area were outdated and stained. Consider replacing them. read more

My husband and I stayed here for two nights (Friday and Saturday) just before Easter in 2012. What a HUGE disappointment. We were looking for a weekend get-away that would be closer than our all time favorite, Chico Hot Springs. Now, Chico is just about as good as it gets, so I'll admit that my standards are high. But we wanted to try something new, and having rented Forest Service cabins and lookouts all over the state, we were ready for rustic. What we weren't ready for, however, was to be charged like we were staying in one of the nicer cabins at Chico, while in reality we might as well have been staying in someone's dirty dorm room. For the prices they charge, one would think that the rooms would be clean at the very least. Our bathroom floor was filthy, and someone had used our toilet and not bothered to flush it. When I pulled back the curtains to open the room window, I counted 18 dead flies on the sill. Disgusting. I didn't even want to think about the sheets and bedspreads. Also- the walls are so thin that we could hear everything that the family in the room next to us was up to (and since when does a "cabin with a fireplace" share a wall??) After two nights of literally being able to hear the flatulence from the people next door, we were over it. The restaurant had absolutely awful food- even the breakfasts were horrible- "over-easy" was apparently too much to ask and the hashbrowns were literally swimming in a pool of grease. For our first evening's dinner, we ordered appetizers. The "calamari" tasted off- and when we inquired about it to the server- we were told that sometimes food is cooked and served without regard to its expiration date. Seriously. The prime rib- which is billed as a house specialty- came to the table luke warm and with au jus that tasted as if it was reconstituted from a Lawry's spice packet. I understand that the location is somewhat remote, and that perhaps it is difficult to employ a full time, experienced chef- but if that is the case, then charge your customers appropriately. The hot springs pool itself is charming enough, and when it is hot, it is quite pleasant. We happened to be there on a day that it was much lower temperature than "normal" and it was a little off-putting to be sitting in a pool of somewhat tepid bathwater with a bunch of strangers. The next day the temperature issue was fixed however, and the pool was quite nice. We left a day early because didn't think it was worth a three day stay. Pros: Takes pets and has a historic, second story hot pool. Cons: Filthy rooms, over-priced rooms/cabins, and the restaurant serves food that in our experience was frequently inedible. read more

Not impressed at all. I was biking through this area and my girlfriend had called ahead to reserve a room for me as a gift. When I got there they had no information on the reserved room, so I pulled out my credit card and booked the room. Come to find out we were both charged for the room, so we're trying to clear that up now. Once in my cabin, the bathroom was horribly dirty as the previous persons razor, towels, and dirty towels were still in the bathroom. I then pull back the sheets to find ants in the bed. I'm so tired that I just hop into bed, but then the smoke detector batter warning indicator starts beeping at 3am. So I get up shortly after to leave. The worst motel experience I've ever had. read more

Buyer Beware! At a benefit auction In September 2009, I purchased a certificate for a 1-night stay in "a cozy fireplace cabin" at Jackson Hot Springs. We made reservations and arrived to find that our gift certificate was denied by the front desk clerk because there were new owners. I protested. He then said that I would have to pay $26 more because they had raised their rates. I said that I would not. I had spoken with a representative of the new owners of Jackson Hot Springs (Quinn's Hot Springs) that very afternoon and was told that the certificate was good. The manager then arrived at my request and said that we could stay in a room with a lesser rate if one was available. An $83 room was available, that last fall cost $55. We went to the room and it had not changed since last fall when we stayed there. I asked for credit in the restaurant for that balance. The manager said no. We have been staying at Jackson Hot Springs every year since 2003 when we received a gift certificate for our wedding. We have stayed there as a couple and with family in both rooms and cabins enjoying the water, the friendliness of the staff, the accommodations, and the restaurant. That has all changed. We enjoy going to hot springs and have friends who do also. We will not go back to Jackson! read more

My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary. We were VERY disappointed with the restaurant. It took us 2 1/2 hours for our meal start to finish. Service was terrible and our calamari appetizer was defiantly not calamari. Our 2 pasta dishes that costed us $40 was less then appetizing. The hot spring was very outdated. This place is awe-invoking. I walked in and my mouth dropped open. It has the feel of a clean hunting lodge. The gift shop is small, the taxidermy displays are huge and the bar is ridiculously cheap. We stayed in a room with a fireplace, it like everything else was made of wood and smelled warm and inviting like a sauna. The one peculiarity...the woman who checked us in seemed to be put off when I asked if the restaurant had rocky mountain oysters (we are in Montana) after she pressured us to make dinner reservations at their in house restaurant. I inquired if she knew where I could find some she feigned ignorance. We drove 18 miles to Wisdom and found some there. I get that this small town is solely supported by the lodge, it's so small you could miss it driving if you blinked. The huge hot spring pool was the size of a regular swimming pool and hot. I think they change the water on Tuesdays so Wednesdays when they reopen it's fresh and at it's hottest. I really enjoyed my stay here, I especially enjoyed not having a television in our room. There was an enormous one in the lodge, which promotes a more social atmosphere anyways. read more

Wanted to get off the freeways and see the incredibly beautiful Big Hole Country. Jackson was perfectly located to spend a night in this amazing ranching world. This day found us dodging thunderstorms and arriving at the Jackson Hot springs late with huge puddles in the parking areas. Forgot my cowboy boots to get out of the car. First impressions: To get in to register you guess the closest side door might be safe bet. You walk into a Bar with a few grizzled drinking patrons listening to AC/DC. Continuing around you find the great room and more Bar. Finally around the corner you find the reception desk. Friendly folks. Get room key, was told it was newly renovated. Room is cold but spacious with huge King size bed. The hot springs heater radiator next to the bed is off. No on valve. Need to turn on electric heater. Bathroom is small with a tiny cramped shower stall. Starving we go to restaurant. Dark dim bug littered ceiling lights hid the floor. The previous reviews are sadly true. Overpriced grisly rib eye and tepid food. The comped dessert was no better. The pool was still open so I grabbed my trunks to find barren changing rooms with no lockers or hot spring heated towels. Just blank walls. So back to the room to start a fire and spend my evening nursing unseasoned pine logs to stay alight. Did not stay for breakfast. read more

A very enjoyable afternoon at the hot springs and in the bar in the evening. The lodge is comfy but not chic. Rooms are big, very clean and have fireplaces. What more does one need? There are no TVs in the rooms which is a plus for a get-away place like this. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. We went into the bar for a drink before dinner in the dining room, but found ourselves staying there for the entire evening as it was so comfortable and the bartender told us the entire menu was available in the bar. My husband's Angus steak was literally melt-in-your-mouth tender and absolutely delicious!! Breakfast today was tasty with a lot of choices on the menu. We highly recommend this place for those who are looking for a great time in a great place that caters to all its clientele. If you are looking for fancy, don't stop here. Our room was clean, but the walls are paper thin, and the woman next door was on her phone for hours and we could hear her conversation just fine. The hot pool was hot and the water was wonderful. The restaurant was a dud. The prices are high for Montana, but the service and the food was not good. Our waiter could not keep our orders straight, even though there were only 3 of us. He asked us if we wanted water, and then just plunked a pitcher on our table. He forgot to bring our salad until after he served the entree. We asked him to keep our drinks from the bar filled and he had to be prompted. He also had to be asked to take away the empty plates and salad plates. It seems no one has taught the young man how to serve. He was quite sweet and eager to please, but did not have a clue. The table we were seated at was very wide, so wide we could not carry on a conversation without raising our voices above normal speaking levels. The food choices had upscale names, I ordered halibut with an almondine sauce, pilaf and grilled asparagus. The fish was warm, but the rice and asparagus were stone cold. There was no salt or seasoning whatsoever in any of the food. My companions ordered the ribeye, which was chewy, and her sides were stone cold as well. My other companion ordered a pasta dish and the sauce was just an overcooked mishmash of vegetables on top of cold pasta. We ordered a raspberry bottom creme brulee' that had no caramelized sugar topping, and the custard was watery and the raspberry bottom was so sweet, I suspect it is just raspberry jam. The waiter must have sensed our displeasure, as he did comp us one of the desserts. We spend a lot of time visiting various hot springs in Montana and Idaho, and have experienced all levels of funky to luxurious, we won't be returning to Jackson. read more

I took my two teenage sons to Jackson Hot Springs for Christmas. The staff was very friendly. A special shout out to Jacob, the bartender who was just the sweetest ever. Dinner was delicious, and the waitress was very helpful with my one picky eater. The room was welcoming with three beds and a fireplace. The hot pool after a long day of skiing was perfect. It would be an o.k place to stop for a short period of time., but not overnight. The lodge was comfortable and had good entertainment. However, while hanging out in the hot springs we had some items stolen from the changing room. I do not really recommend eating in the lodge. The food was a little overpriced and not worth that much. Soaking in the hot springs was amazing! However, this was the only good part of the trip. Like I said earlier, I would not recommend staying overnight. The cabin walls are paper thin and you can hear every word said in the next room, which means no sleeping at 4 in the morning while the people in the neighboring room were talking. I also feel our room was not cleaned properly. There were still trash in the room including half empty bottles of beer. I think all the maid did was come into the room and make the bed, not even change the sheets. We were on a business trip and had a friend staying in a different cabin. Apparently the roof leaked and in the morning his shoe was full of water! No staying overnight, but a nice day hanging out in the pool and lodge is good. read more
