My husband and I rode our motorcycles to Salmon and stayed here for a night. The first thing I loved was that they have a place close to the entrance to park motorcycles, which helped us feel safer about them. Our room was clean and we had a nice view of the river. When they're hosting ball players, it seems to be a bit loud and rowdy but thankfully things calmed down at a relatively decent hour and we were able to get a good night's sleep. Breakfast was pretty good, just a basic buffet style, but we liked it. We'll definitely stay again if we're passing through. read more

My family stayed there for a week. I am so glad we did. The room and beds were clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff were very accommodating in the way they cleaned around our stay. The desk staff were extremely helpful with suggestions and information about the town. The hotel is older with charm and class (not run down old). The entire staff were the most friendly, courteous and helpful I've had the pleasure to meet in a long while (refreshing). I will most definitely be staying again in the future and would suggest to anyone looking for a great friendly, clean comfortable and cozy place to stay in Salmon. The rooms were in decent condition for an older hotel. The real issue is the treatment we received from staff. Four of us (all in our 70s) booked 4 rooms for a girls trip. At checkin, the clerks seemed annoyed at our laughter and frustrated when we asked if our rooms could be near each other. The bigger problem was with our reservation. We had booked 6 rooms through Expedia and canceled 2 well in advance (Expedia confirmed). The hotel still charged a $50 cancellation fee. Even though we were paying for 4 rooms, the manager, Julie, said the only way to waive the fee was if she paid it herself. When I asked for the owner's name to discuss this charge, Julie refused to provide it and wouldn't disclose which other hotels this person owns. That lack of transparency was disappointing. Other issues: one room's sliding door was unlocked upon arrival (a safety concern); we were given only 3 of 4 advertised ice cream coupons and treated like we were cheating when we asked for the 4th; 2 of us had repeated problems with key cards (5 reprograms in 3 nights) and were lectured as if it were our fault, though another staff member admitted it was a common issue. The strangest incident was staff knocking on our doors at 9 a.m. (checkout is 11) and instructing us to leave doors open after departure. We refused, as it felt unsafe. We left feeling unwelcome, unfairly charged, and blamed for problems not ours. This is the only negative hotel review I have ever written. read more

This is my stay at the stagecoach INN In salmon ID Breakfast: was very good. It was very, very nice and very, very yummy. I like breakfast. It's my favorite type of meal of the day. The waffles were very good and the hashbrowns I was impressed. Wi-Fi: if you want to know the Wi-Fi password use the room card. The Internet is very laggy. Sleep: we had very good sleep the beds did sink though but anyhow, we did get very good sleep. ROOM: our room was on the main floor, was very fancy and had a lot of outlets on the clock two outlets and one USB. I'm more concerned about the shower was really nice. It felt good on my skin . If you stay on the main floor, you will have access to the outside with a quick exit. The TV was very small, but worked properly. Pool: we never really went in it. The pool didn't really look that good. Other things to add: this hotel is not my favorite, but since I did get good sleep, this place deserves a good four stars! The town of salmon is pretty cool! Maybe not a 5 star hotel but still giving it the best rating possible here!!! We stay here a lot when we come into town and while it is a tad dated it's still the best place to stay IMO. The staff is so nice and accommodating, the rooms are nice and the view can't be best. Price is great too!! read more

Stayed here one night. Overall it was fine, but a few problems stood out. Our ac/heater didn't work (no power to unit) but fortunately the room was an acceptable temperature. The bathroom door was warped and needed significant force to open and close. The clerk who checked us in was rather unfriendly and unwelcoming. I was rather shocked. (Every other employee we interacted with was perfectly pleasant.) Also, it could well have been the time of year or the recent rain, but the river as seen from our room was dark, full and fast moving. Combined with all the yellow caution tape along the ground floor wall, it wasn't the tranquil view we were hoping for. read more

So here I am again at the best place to stay in this town. As usual the room was perfect the place was pristine. Clean. Including the parking lot. The breakfast was decent. The staff looked happy. I do like this pool which was very quiet today. The pool man came in and we discussed how hot it was going to get lol the water in the pool is running About the same as Miami Beach this time of the year. Not too chilly not too warm. There were some great updates to the hotel since I was here last. There is now a sweet little computer kiosk you can use for no cost up front. They redid the front and it looks marvelous now. They have a snack area where you can get decent food I didn't see drinks but I'm gonna check. The river at this time of the year is a little low and I think it looks pretty because you can see to the bottom of it in places but never jump in this is a very powerful river and a lot of people have drowned in it. Do not let your kids near it it will suck them in and there are some very bad under toes. That's about all I have to say for this trip I will add another update with more pictures next time! We ended up stuck in Salmon Idaho due to a mountain snow storm this week. I can't say enough nice things about this place. Great room facing the Salmon River. Nice continental breakfast..WITH REAL COFFE MUGS.. nice outdoor dog area. Every employee was sooo nice. We forgot my husband's pillow. Lacey was holding it at front desk and are shipping it to us. This used to be the go to friendly place to stay in Salmon, not any more. Rates have gone up 40 percent in two years ,but thought it was still worth it. Not sure if they changed ownership or management, but they found rude and inconsiderate. 20 years staying here and in one single night Larry has run us off forever. We were on a company Harley ride and had rooms at another motel and when we got there they had given away 4 of our rooms , we had reserved 12. I called The Stagecoach and they were very accommodating and very nice! They got us the rooms we needed and let us park our trailer in the extra lot so we could set up our bbq and feed our group. The place is older but is clean, the back grass area next to the river is very peaceful, we will be back for our next company ride! read more

The place is outdated. Check in was quick and pleasant. Paid for a River view, but if you are on the lower floor, you can't actually see the river over the short wall. Ask for a room on 2nd or 3rd floor. Tiny bathroom. People right outside our sliding door, so can't really open. Some gross plastic cup with perhaps a cigar left on our patio. Free parking. read more

I stayed here with my children during a long road trip to visit my uncle. Heard about Salmon and decided to take a little detour to check the town out. Spent the day checking out the river with my boys and realized it was bedtime so looked up and saw this hotel and decided it would work. Wow was I not expecting to be so wowed. I had never felt such small town hospitality before in my life. Front desk Erin really made me feel like an old friend she actually cared about when she warned me of the river being dangerous to my boys and navigating me on her favorite restraint. This town is so friendly and the beds are all so comfy. Would give every star in the sky if I could. read more

I made our reservation with lots of time. It is clearly a motel in need of an update. We were put in a crappy little room, where the fan in the bathroom/shower didn't work, by the ice machine, overlooking the trash bins, with seriously noisy people upstairs. the phones didn't work, Tv was dicey. For almost $170 I really was expecting a bit more. the staff was marginal, altho they did come instantly to fix the tv. Try the Motel 6 across the street. Wish we would have. read more

Had a great stay. Our river front room was ok only the big trees blocked most of our view the 4 nights we were there. If we were to come back we will stay on the left side of the motel facing the river where the views better. Very nice staff and it's very clean. Get a room facing the river, it will be quieter. That said, the rooms facing the river have zero privacy. Everyone brings their small kids out on the back lawn with no regard for the morning quiet or privacy of others. The place is so family-friendly that it's kind of the opposite if you are not a family. My boyfriend and I felt like we were at church camp. We never used the pool or hot tub because there were kids there pretty much all the time, even late into the evening. Free breakfast was adequate, though with so many families, they can't keep up with the families descending like locusts and scouring the breakfast bar of all food in order to save money. The wi-fi was so inadequate it didn't work. Nice people. We liked the breakfast room and used the space to pack our backpacking food during off hours. read more

At first glance you would think this is a place to drive by. Yes, it's old and needs updating. When we walked down the hallway (lower level) it could be the scene of a murder mystery - dark and foreboding. BUT, it was one of the best places we have stayed at in the longest time! Room was very comfortable and clean, bed was great, shower had more power than any power washer and the people were fabulous. The breakfast had numerous items to choose from: fresh, hot scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, and a variety of breads. A woman was there to clean the entire time. I would definitely stay here again. The river in the backyard is a wonderful plus. They have tables and chairs outside the back that you can lounge by the river. read more

Our room had river view with a balcony close to river (could throw rocks into water from balcony perhaps even cast a fishing line). With slider open the river sounded like a peaceful waterfall. Fresh baked cookies in the evening at the front desk. Breakfast was very good...step above most other hotels free breakfast. Biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs, sausage, potatoes, tortillas, jalapeños, green onions, shredded cheese, salsa, cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice (not punch), and good tasting coffee. So I wrote an earlier review. We checked in and got to our room. No fridge or microwave and the TV did not work. Went to the front desk about the TV problem and 4 hours later still no tv. I was willing to pay an extra 20 bucks for a different room but the girl said she would fix my problem. She didn't. She went home. The night shift girl fixed our problem in 10 minutes and we got an executive room with a River View. Thank you Erin. Because of her we'll stay again. read more

Spent 2 nights here in 2 different rooms. I like the location of the inn a lot. River side room is great. Parking lot side not so great, noisy at night, sliding glass doors to parking lot didn't feel safe but with 2 large dogs we felt safe enough. Safety door bar was broken. Shower rod missing 2 screws so shower curtain drooped and water ended up on floor. Both rooms were clean, bathrooms were sad, toilets were really short and being older it was difficult getting up. Easy fix to spend $100 to replace toilet. King bed with queen sheet on bottom so needless to say we didn't end up with a covered mattress. Handicap accessible room really wasn't and would not accommodate a wheel chair if needed. Overall I did like this place but only if staying on upper floor away from lobby area for a quieter stay. This was wonderful after 6 days on the river! There is a laundromat here, too, which made things very convenient for me.

We come here every year for an outdoor hockey tournament. The staff knows who their guests are (hockey kids and families) and are so gracious and welcoming. The rooms are clean and there is free WiFi. This Motel allows pets and always welcome them just as kindly. Good breakfast, clean rooms, fun staff, and very accommodating. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in this town. read more

We are here tonight heading home from our family road trip, and this place is clean, with friendly staff, and a decent price for a one night stay ($83 for a family of 5), speedy free wifi internet, and an adequate breakfast. And, they have a pool and hottub, and are walking distance to just about everything in the tiny town of Salmon Idaho. I would stay again without giving it a second thought. The front desk staff was nice but I could tell he needed to hit the hay (and launder his shirt) The price was reasonable with an extra charge for water-front. The "Parking lot view" room was ok. Bathroom and fixtures were all decent and relatively new. All except my wife's nightstand wich was non-existant. The bed was fine for me but very uncomfortable for my wife. I'd say the reason we stopped was for the sign that said belgium waffles. In the morning, the continental breakfast + waffle machine was to be expected, but the waffles were a little more dense than I am used to. read more

We spent two nights here and the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel is outdated and the guest rooms especially need some renovating and updating. The bathroom fixtures are old and need modernization. The included breakfast offered eggs, chopped ham, biscuits and gravy, English muffins, hot oatmeal and some dry cereals served on stoneware plates with stainless flatware, which was nice. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. We had a river view room on the second floor which was quiet and had a nice river view. Room was ready when we arrived. Staff was friendly and easy to deal with. This motel is close to the Salmon River, one of the most beautiful rivers in the west and we had a room overlooking the river. This was the best motel I've stated at. The female owner was super nice and laid back. Extra points to her because I checked in at 10:30 pm. The room was great too. I stayed in the Mountain Goat Room. It has an epic mural on the wall of...yes, you guessed it... mountain goats. Clean room. Could use a sweeping.
