The hygienists have consistently gone above and beyond -- even coming to the car to walk her in away from crowds to help prevent overstimulation. Previous providers have always allowed me, as her mother, to assist during appointments because they understood her sensitivities and triggers. That level of compassion is why we stayed loyal to this office. Unfortunately, today's experience with Dr. Johnson was completely different and honestly upsetting. At first, she seemed okay, but during the examination she repeatedly denied me the ability to comfort my child. When she introduced a sharp dental tool that has NEVER been used on my daughter before, I attempted to help and reassure her, but Dr. Johnson physically pushed my hand away and stated, "I've got this, I'm quick and I know what I'm doing." My daughter is autistic. She is sporadic, strong, and can become overwhelmed very quickly. Any provider working with special needs children should understand the importance of patience, regulation, and allowing a child to feel safe before proceeding. Instead, Dr. Johnson continued trying to force my daughter to allow the tool in her mouth even while she was clearly showing signs of overstimulation and distress. It took me firmly stating, "I know my own child," before she finally allowed my daughter a moment to recenter herself. This experience was unacceptable. Autism is not one-size-fits-all, and bedside manner matters -- especially in pediatric special needs care. I am deeply disappointed that despite being informed multiple times that my daughter is autistic, her needs and comfort appeared to be dismissed.

Dr. Jen made us feel like idiots as we attempted to ask questions about our son's teeth and his treatment. She rushed us through the plan and it's like she expected us to just let her do what she wanted to do without question... When we did ask questions, she avoided answering them directly and gave us so much unnecessary attitude, as if we were annoying her by advocating for our child. I feel like I won the lottery. From the very first visit, they have gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, welcome, and absolutely fearless. So much so, that I do not have insurance any longer and continue at this practice because they are so WONDERFUL! Also - they offer a discount if you are paying with cash or check - BONUS. There may also be other discounts available and all you need to do is call and ask. Staff has also commented they would be happy to help me go over insurance plans should I go that route again. I have NEVER been to a practice where I have been offered that help. Dr. Williamson is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful and kind. He spends as much time as you would like with you and thoroughly answers all questions. Also, I needed an 'emergency appointment' to have a crown re-glued before I was leaving on a trip. I was worried that I was going to have to pay for the visit and the procedure - that's the case at all. This is a practice where they do NOT nickel and dime you to death.
