The park allows dogs and provides poop bags and poop disposal stations so I feel it's somewhat dog friendly. However, the trails here are 4 miles of interconnected pavement. There's no dirt, but there is also zero shade. If you want to get a good workout and tan and roast at the same time then might be a good summer hike for you. Not a good place to bring your dog in June though, no shade means the pavement is wicked hot. All parking is on gravel (except accessible spots) and in direct sunlight so your car will also be burning hot when you get back from your burning hot hike. Wear sunscreen! Btw my dog is a medium black aussiedoodle with very short hair and she could only handle 15 minutes in the heat, walking on the grass. Other than that, it's a beautiful park and I would love to come back in the fall or winter. Bathrooms are closed and there's only port-a potties. Just be careful with your speed if you travel through Bradford, TN to get here because they will cite you also due to the heat the bugs here aren't excessive, but also I wasn't out very long

The bathroom was updated with more modern equipment. The kitchen of course is small, but still great for preparing a meal. We enjoyed the charcoal grill and the Adirondack rocking chairs. The trails are nice. The lake is quite charming. The only downside is the amount of goose poop near the beach area and leading to the walkway across the water. It would be great to put some sort of goose deterrent or power wash the sidewalks on a regular basis in order to fix this issue. The check in process was quick and easy and the rangers were helpful. It is nice being off the grid. The Wi-Fi is very weak in the cabins, but we actually appreciated that because technology shouldn't be the focus of your weekend away from home.

First, I have to confess that I didn't even know that Casey Jones was a real human being, I just knew the name from the Grateful Dead song. But next to the museum, they have the actual home of the real-life Casey Jones. If you have an electric vehicle, there are plenty of chargers on the property to charge your vehicle. I would hazard a guess that there are not a lot of other options in Jackson, Tennessee. This tourist trap is conveniently located just off of the interstate and if you are in Jackson, Tennessee, it is worth stopping by and checking out. All in all, it is a pretty cool place to check out if you are in the area or just passing through. I would give it four stars as an overall rating.

Had an engine similar to Casey's that you could check out and take pictures with. Afterwards went and saw Casey Jones house, that was moved from its original location. It wasn't quite as exciting because it had much of it glassed up. Then we went to Casey Jones' actual grave and paid our respects. The grave is not onsite, and it's problematic to get to. I thought the restaurant was nice, and the food was better than expected. Wifey loved the shopping in the village. We had a good time and will go back maybe as a weekend trip.

The Butler Room was so comfortable we slept well! It was a few blocks walk to the old Town center of Jackson which was pleasant as there are some beautiful old homes and giant great trees along the way. The original claw foot tub was in perfect condition and charming with an excellent shower - plenty of nice hot water too! Breakfast was excellent also ! Thanks so much for everything .
