The proximity is about a few minutes drive, so this was ideal (not entirely sure what to expect). After booking through their website, I received a call from the owner Michael whom I cannot say enough about. His thoroughness with parking, entry, etc was above and beyond. Upon getting to the room I was in awe -- I've stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years and the room was among the best ever. The cleanliness, attention to details, snacks, fridge, the shower (love!). This was exactly the type of place you want to come back to (especially after a very trying time). I had only booked one night at the time because I wasn't sure how long we'd be in Picton and Michael was beyond accommodating when I requested (and hoped!) I could extend the stay. My mom was eventually moved to hospice (out of Picton), but Michael, you, your team and your accommodations made one of the most difficult times of my life a little bit more bearable and I cannot thank you enough. Without question I would recommend staying here -- regardless of the reason (I hope it's not for mine ...) but you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for everything.

The room was nicely appointed with a comfy bed and a small sitting area, and great blackout shades. The only issue is the room is that there was also a frosted window to the bathroom, and that had no shade on it. Parking is conventionally located behind the hotel- the staff has directions if the main lot is full. Overall a very good experience.

When booking our PEC trip, we had hoped to stay closer to town, but the other B&Bs we looked at were already booked. In the end, we were glad that we booked at The Miller's House, as we had a very peaceful stay. Our room and the communal parts of the B&B were charmingly decorated, and there are several nice outdoor seating areas, though we didn't take advantage of them. We had let Bob, the owner, know about our dietary restrictions ahead of time (I'm a vegetarian, and my husband is allergic to nuts), and we were served lovely breakfasts both mornings, savory one morning, and sweet the next, with homemade biscuits, bread and jam, and vegetables he said were from a friend's garden. We were the only guests staying at the house at the time, and he sat down with us during breakfast to chat and was enormously helpful with activity suggestions. We had done some research before our trip, but we didn't know about quite a few of the places he suggested, and were happy with the recommendations we followed. Bob even provided recommendations for the next stop on our roadtrip, Kingston, and packed us some biscuits and bread for the road on the morning we left. The wifi can be rather slow. While I shouldn't squander vacation time glued to my screen, my husband and I couldn't be on the Internet at the same time to check email, upload photos, and look up restaurants and attractions, without our devices seriously slowing down. A note to guests booking to Expedia: Bob prefers payment via e-Transfer or cash, rather than charging the credit card you used to book via Expedia, since they charge him 4 percent, which he would add to your lodging costs. Since we were coming from the US, we couldn't do e-Transfer (which I think is a Canadian-only thing?), so I would suggest American guests who booked via Expedia to bring enough cash with them for the bill.

Our first night, we mentioned that my husband is "gluten-free", as I forgot to indicate his requirements in advance. The next morning, we were served excellent coffee, along with a magnificent breakfast of locally grown and harvested food, complete with Gluten-Free biscuits, freshly prepared by our host Bob. The presentation of the meal followed that of a top restaurant or hotel. Far beyond our expectations. After breakfast, Bob proceeded to map out our trip for the day, included the best wineries (including Top Dog, Exultet & Light Hall), cheese (Fifth Town) and restaurants, including Blumen. We followed all of his suggestions and had a superb time. One of our very best vacations. A wonderful rest, charming host, delicious, gourmet breakfast and dog friendly! Wow - a definite highlight of our summer. We look forward to returning!

This is a very small marina located on the southern end of the Picton Bay along the Bay of Quinte,…read morePrince Edward County Ontario, CN. Docks are in fair condition and there is shore power and water at the slips. They do not sell fuel or pump out, but a marina close by provides these services. Transient slip prices were fair. Not much of a store on site, but they do sell ice. It is only a short walk into town where boaters/cruisers can find plenty of stores to purchase groceries and otherwise provision. Only one employee seems to be on duty at any given time. The marina did not answer their VHF radio but they did answer the phone as we entered the harbor in the pouring rain and someone did come out to greet us and assist with docking. Outdated washroom on site - we preferred to shower in our boat. No laundry facilities. The marina is pretty basic, but worth the stay as the town of Picton is worth the visit. I was turned off at the response I got from the marina attendant while paying for our transient slip upon our arrival. The weather forecast for the following morning was calling for heavy rains in the morning but promising clear skies in the early afternoon. After having noticed many vacant slips, I asked how strict they are on there check out policy - we would have liked to stay an additional hour or so until the rains were expected to stop the following day, before continuing on our cruise. I was told we must be out of the slip at check out time or be charged another night. I could understand that if the marina was booked, but there must have been at least 10 slips available. We made our way out in the rain the next morning, which stopped about an hour later. I would stay here again but without wild expectations.
